  • This training saved us from having to get rid of our aggressive, unpredictable dog. This training is also something we can carry with us for life for any future dogs. It takes a lot of work from us (to stay on top of the training) but it is definitely worth it. Thank you Tom!

  •  I was not happy with this trainer at all! I feel he was very expensive!

He was very quick to take your money! At times he did not even stay one hour. He had a set program and he did not want to deviate from it to fit the needs of the client. The client had to write everything down, no hand outs were given! He was not easy to work with! It says no refunds, but I did ask for a partial refund after I quit the training . I hoped he would have given me something back, as a good faith refund  , but  I never heard back from him! I would not recommend this trainer!

  • We feel like we have a new dog that heels perfectly, walks well on a leash and doesn't try to attack other dogs anymore. Bill Glatzel offers ongoing support and training for a lifetime and we now don't have to worry about euthanizing an unpredictable, fear-aggressive dog anymore, thanks to the training and behavioral support we were given by TLC K9 Academy!

  • Kim provides a range of dog training services, but my contacts with her have been for her Canine Noseworks class. She's the only certified instructor for this in Phoenix, so I didn't really have a choice who to take if from, but it ended up being a great experience. She's personable, fun and she knows her stuff. I took the class first with my older, retired performance dog, thinking it might be an interesting thing for him to do now that he's arthritic and can't compete or train in agility or upper level obedience any more. And it turned out to be great, a nice activity for any dog and handler as its not too physically demanding, and it lets the dog use his natural scenting ability, so the dog (or its owner) doesn't need to be especially brilliant or confident to enjoy learning to do this sport together. And as only one dog works at a time, it works for shy and anxious dogs or reactive dogs. And I saw both in the classes that I took and Kim did a great job of dealing with all sorts of dogs. Anyway, it was such a good experience that I am now taking the class with my younger dog.

  • ce a daytThey made an initial visit for information and to meet the dogs.  They were well groomed and dressed and the dogs warmed up to hem immediately.  They took notes about the dogs medications, special diets, routines and said they were willing to take them to the Vet if the need arose.  My dogs are large and powerful and frequently get into play fights which sometimes accelerate into undesirable behavior.  This did not deter them.  Also, my German Shepherd takes guarding the house seriously.  This did not seem to be a problem.  I came home to a neat and clean house and two happy dogs.  Will use them again

  • WARNING!! We were seeking help with training our dog due to his food aggression, and my husband found TLC K9 Academy's website. We call to set up a "free" consultation and paid the $45 schedule fee (1/27/10). When the day came for the appointment we waited and waited and waited for someone to show up. Finally after 45 minutes we tried contacting the company to see if someone was still planning on coming out, the women that we initially made the appointment with said she would try to get in contact with the trainer and get back to us. After waiting 45 more minutes we still hadn't heard back from her or the trainer. The next day we called again and we asked why she didn't get back to us and she acted surprise that the trainer didn't call us back. Needless to say we asked for our scheduling fee to be refunded, which wasn't done until 7 days later. We were ready to just chalk this up to experience, however the same day they credited us the $45, they ALSO took out $2000 from our account!!!!!!!! We immediately contacted the company to get this cleared up, she said that she would look into it. Day went by when we NEVER heard back, all contact was initiated by us! She said that after reconciling her accounts she found where the error was but was unable to refund the money to us because it had already been spent, after several conversations our money was finally refunded 12 DAYS after it was taken out of our account without permission. Needless to say we would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE!!!

  • I have signed up with them as a lifetime member. The proprietor, Ms. Kim Baer, came and spent multiple hours going over the training techniques with my dogs. So, I pay $25 for a day, for both the dogs. If you aren’t a lifetime member, she has a different price.

  • Marsha at P.B.S. has always been immediately responsive to my inquiries. Over the phone, email, or voice mail. I can always reach her. Terri has always been waiting for me at appointments, and is always ready to go. She checks in with me to see how things are going with Bailey. She monitors what is working and what needs to be modified. Terri has suggested several different methods to get through to Bailey, including getting different toys! I love that Terri isn't into using cruel techniques to modify behavior. She has listened carefully to what I share about Bailey. She is also closely observing Bailey at all times. At the end of my sessions, Terri has always given me notes and tools to take home with me. These notes help me keep on track and not deviate from the lessons. Terri has also referred me back to my vet to evaluate weird behavior, to see if it's more medical than behavioral.
