Interior Painting reviews in Fountain Hills

  • Excellent. He gave me an excellent quote (of the 3 -I received). Mike and the crew were very professional and always on time. I asked for extra work to be done beyond his quote and he did the job and explained the extra costs which were reasonable.

  • Painting was done in 2 phases 2 weeks apart. Phase 1 painters were 5 hours late due to being scheduled on another job. Phase 2 painters didn't show at all on day 1. When I called to ask when they were coming, one person said the painter was sick and the owner said he had car trouble. My understanding is that he told them the Friday before that he wouldn't be at my house on Tuesday and they didn't bother to call. In both phases they painted over, rather than repair, holes in the wall. After pointing that out, they did correct this. Overall the guys who came out to paint were polite and efficient and always willing to do what was asked of them. The owner promised to come by to meet with me and do a walk thru of phase 1. He never showed and I never heard from him again which is why I rated professionalism a D - this is not a reflection of the painters themselves. I went with Marcel because they were the lowest price bid. So this proves you get what you pay for.

  • We LOVE our new master bathroom - and all the other upgrades we got done by Interior Remodeling by Simmons. We found them on Angie’s List and, after meeting with Dave Simmons, we sought no other quotes as we were very impressed with his design ideas and knowledge and, frankly, his low-key, professional manner. He provided a detailed written proposal and a reasonable payment schedule that kept things on track. Our 30-year old adobe home had a huge tiled sunken tub in the Master ensuite that we never used in the 7 years we’ve been here and the separate tiled enclosed shower was dark and outdated. We now have a beautiful, bright, elegant open bathroom with all new tile flooring, a open-ended tile and glass shower with bench, stand-alone soaker tub, gorgeous double vanity with matching custom framed mirror and separate storage cabinet in a style keeping with our adobe walls, new quartz counter, all new fixtures and great new recessed lighting and chandelier, and new double-paned glass in three windows. They also retiled the surrounds of a double-faced fireplace between the Master bedroom and ensuite - done so neatly and skilfully - and then were meticulous in matching paint for the walks affected. The work was done largely by Clint Simmons and his colleague, Fudi, who were extremely proficient in all the work done and a pleasure to work with, arriving on time and leaving our home each day in an orderly, clean state. In addition, we had them replace the old cultured marble counter in a guest bath with granite and install new taps and custom framed mirror - beautiful upgrade. They replaced our old kitchen tap and their electrician replaced chandeliers in our kitchen and dining room and the ceiling fan in our Master - love the updated look! We selected all the needed plumbing and lighting fixtures and Dave obtained them at a very reasonable price. He never tried to upsell us - instead gave us great advice on where to find what we needed at reasonable cost. His suppliers and subtrades were great. The project was delayed a bit mid-job, awaiting the arrival of our soaker tub but that wasn’t Dave’s fault. We had to change our tub choice and the new one took longer than expected to ship from the East, holding up placement of the new drain and filling in the old “sunken tib hole”. But it was well worth the wait. Whole remodel is beautiful! Clint also repaired a crack in the Saltillo tile floor in our dining room in a manner that will keep the crack from expanding but also avoided what would have been a very messy and, I suspect, very noticeable replacement job of a few tiles in the midst of a large floor. Very pleased with their wise advice and very neat, detailed work throughout. Honest, skilled, creative, professional and all nice guys who were great to work with. We were extremely pleased with Dave, Clint, Fudi and their subtrades and suppliers. We would not hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend this company to others.

  • Mike's crew did a very nice job and cleaned up when they were finished. They also did a very neat job of painting after they finished the drywall work. They were all very professional, polite and prompt. Couldn't have asked for a more professional crew and I would use them again.

  • They did an incredible job. We were out of the state at the time so all of the scheduling was done over the phone and through email. They were so professional, got the job done on time and the workmanship is of the highest quality. We feel so lucky to have found this company.

  • They first came through to survey to the work and made suggestions as to what needed to be done and quote the job.  I found their quote to be honest and fair compared to others.  Mike and his team pointed out work needed that other bidders did not mention.   found their painters to be very personable and discussed various options before starting work that they felt would improve the overall job and my satisfaction. They finished on schedule and were very neat and clean as they worked on the job.

  • I had just recently moved to Fountain Hills. My water heater leaked during the night, damaging walls in the garage, bedroom and pantry. After the water removal service finished, I needed to find someone to fix the damage. I got estimates from a couple of contractors, but was disappointed that they were booked out weeks in advance. I don't like that they sub-contract, and charge more because of that. Also, I had water damage in the past, and the repair was not done well.
So since this was mostly a drywall job, I decided to find someone who specializes in drywall repair. I was happy to find Mike's Drywall. He answered my call right away, and said he could do the job in a couple of days! Also, rather than sending different people to take care of the drywall and painting, the same guy took care of everything. He worked slowly, but carefully and did an excellent job in redoing the drywall and repainting. Looks better than before!
Mike (the owner) supervises everything. I pointed out that you could see where the new paint stopped along one wall in the garage
(that's all the insurance would pay for) Mike offered to have someone come by and finish the wall. That's what service is about.
So glad I went with him rather than a do-it-all contractor.

  • Mike returned my call within the hour, did the estimate the very next day, and was ready to start that day. The other company we were referred to could not do the job for two week. His crew was efficient, professional, and did quality work. My biggest compliment is their attention to detail with ensuring they laid plastic everywhere to protect furniture from paint and dry walling. I highly recommend Mikes Drywall Service.

  • Interior paint was OK, exterior was a very bad job, and it took nearly two years to get owner to do anything about it, and then he sent a guy for one day. Owner was a serial liar and also got angry when confronted with poor work and broken promises. All this doesn't matter now, since the owner drove himself out of business

  • Mike and his crew arrived each morning at the scheduled time, and were very professional in their routine. They took the extra time to hang plastic for dust control. and were very considerate of noise and any possible inconvenience they may have caused me. They had to match the texture from my existing drywall, and it matched perfectly. Mike oversaw his crew, and carefully inspected every detail. His painter was a really nice young guy who really cared about how I felt about the completed job. Self pride that you don't always get these days. I left my house open with my valuables each day and felt confident that my things were safe. my trust was not unfounded as it turns out. One of the days I was gone from the house, the young painter found an unmarked envelope containing a good sum of money that had been long forgotten, and never hesitated to return it to me. I've flipped several houses, working with different contractors, and I know good from bad. This was my own personal home and I am very happy that I used the best.
