    Amazing Scapes LLC
We obtained a few different bids and Amazing Scapes came in with what we felt was our best deal. Right from the beginning Robert set the tone for the entire project with his promptness, professionalism and his willingness to answer any questions we had. Ivan the foreman for Robert kept the work moving forward and did an amazing job on our beehive fireplace and especially our waterfall! We would highly recommend Amazing Scapes to anyone who needs any landscaping work done as thy will do a professional job.

    All Terrain Landscape Creations Inc
Dave, the owner, came out to do the estimate and was very easy to work with. He had some great suggestions and correctly estimated the price and time it would take to complete the project. The crew showed up on time every day and was very professional. Due to the low elevation of my property relative to the rest of the neighborhood, the crew had a challenging task in fixing my drainage problem. Chris, the operations manager, was on site most of the time and during all critical periods to make sure the work was done correctly. He personally surveyed and made sure the grade was correct on the swales. Gil, the foreman, was also great to work with and always wanted to make sure I was happy with the work. Multiple times he added detail elements to the job that I didn't expect, which added greatly to the overall appearance. Gil, Chris and Dave very quickly addressed any concerns I had along the way. The crew also identified and fixed some irrigation problems I didn't know I had. At the end of the job, they power washed the driveway and made sure everything was clean. All Terrain is the fourth landscape company I've worked with here in Tucson, and the only one I would hire again. They did an awesome job.

    Amazing Scapes LLC
Robert and his crew did a very nice job and everything turned out great. We felt the crew manager, Ivan, was extremely knowledgeable and respectful. The crew had a strong work ethic. The owner and his father were very professional and courteous and were always very helpful in answering questions. They did a nice job cleaning up after themselves and completed the job and finished the job on time and well within our expectations. Considering the amount of work they did for us in a short period of time, we are extremely pleased.

Robert's crew was terrific! They tore out the old flagstone patio and put in a large area of new pavers. Built a bar/grill combination and a fire pit. Added stucco/wrought iron fencing around the perimeter, and created some new river bed for drainage. They cleaned out a terraced area and added new elevations, plants and a lot of new gravel. Also added an irrigation system and accent lighting to complete the look.
We changed our minds on a couple of  things during the project and Robert was very flexible with this and his crew had a great attitude from start to finish.
They started the job on the exact day they were supposed to and worked very hard and did some extra detail work as needed.
Robert communicated with us on a regular basis and was very patient with all our questions and requests. We were extremely happy with the finished backyard and would HIGHLY recommend Amazing Scapes.

    Luis Rojo Masonry
Luis was very professional.  I was very happy with his work.  We called for an estimate and he came out right away.  His estimate was the most reasonable by far.  He started the project and his crew was very punctual.  They finished in 3 days.  We are planning more work in our yard and are planning on using them again.

    Rock Solid Solutions
This project started out when we visited Mark's booth at the Home and Garden show here in Tucson.  We also visited the more "commercial" guys, but when speaking with Mark it was clear that he was able to provide the level of work we needed and he was truly interested in our business.  The others would not even to commit to coming out to look at our project.
Mark came out and explained in detail what he would do and provided us both photos of his past work and made references available.  Even though Mark was not listed here on Angie's List I took the chance and asked him to do the work.
The project was divided up in 2 parts, as part of this project included the installation of a fireplace insert, which was done by Arizona Grill and Hearth (Review of which will be coming soon).  The 1st part was Mark coming in and building up the hearth, which was my 1st indication of the quality of work I could expect... I was very pleased.  After a few weeks of getting the insert installed, Mark and his crew came back out and in 3 days finished up the Rock work.  These guys actually cut every piece of stone to fit my fireplace... nothing was prefabbed.  Even the corners were cut to fit.  I am so pleased that I took the chance with Mark... as the other guys would have come out with pre-made panels of stone and probably been done in a day and it would have looked like it was put up in a day.
I HIGHLY recommend Mark and his company Rock Solid Solutions and just wonder what else around the house would look better if rocked.

    Amazing Scapes LLC
Overall the project went very well, which I credit Robert for... just because he hired the right guys that know what their doing. As with any project of this size, there are details that as a homeowner one relies on the experts to cover and offer options and suggestions, in this case Robert.  Well, as the project got underway there were a few of these details that popped up, which was not covered. Here stepped in Ivan, the project leader, which not for him I believe the project would not have gone so smoothly.  And did I mention that this guy is a worker?  While the others on the project worked very hard, Ivan was always working. When an issue of electricity to the island came up, Ivan and his crew stepped up and made it happen... I just had to go purchase the parts.  Same thing when the color of the grout came up, I purchased the coloring and Ivan and his crew did the rest.
This project took 2 weeks for them to complete, which transformed our patio and extended our living space.  We love it and do recommend Robert and his Amazing Scapes crew.
The only advice I would give, is ask questions and ask about the details...  i.e. Do you paint the island after it is built? In my case the answer was no, which was fine once one understands that the stucco has to cure... but it would be nice to know this at the beginning vs. at the end.
Attached are some before and after photos, which shows their work.  Also, note that the grill and other inserts were purchased by us and they did the install, the cost of these items are not figured in to the cost listed above.

    A&M Fencing/Masonry
Because the original wall was still under warranty, and some issues were found, the original installer repaired those issues and did some of the work quoted by A&M - finishing solids and # 10, above.  I was never compensated for this, but that was not my biggest issue.
The primary issue was that the new pilaster supporting a new solid steel 5' gate separated at its base and is no longer anchored securely to the ground.  Prior to contracting with them, they assured me that a single block pilaster would adequately support the gate (despite other contractors suggesting a double-block pilaster).  Unfortunately, when it did not hold up to normal use and the environment (wind), they refused to repair it after it failed.  They claimed it was an "act of God," and I should talk to my insurance company.  They would be willing to come in and repair it for $768.00.
None of my neighbors had any issues with damage due to wind, even with similar fencing and masonry.  To make it worse, they built only two of the three quoted A block Columns (pilasters).  They could have given me a double-block, costing them nothing more than originally quoted.
So, not only was it a poor design (should have been a double-block), but I believe their installation was poor, as they had to cut away some of the base block to fit it up against the house foundation.  While these two things provided for weakness, I also believe that they did not properly anchor (epoxy) the base block to the existing footer, so the rebar just came loose, allowing the wall to tip over to the side.  It would have fallen over completely if the opposite pilaster and gate hadn't held it up (they didn't construct that one).
Possibly related to this, I had originally asked for the top half of the gate to be perforated metal, which they refused to quote.  Might have helped reduce the effect of wind loading if they had (back to design).
Bottom Line:  Poor Design, Bad Installation, didn't provide all they quoted, and they Won't Back their Work - even within a year of completion.  Still saving up to have someone else come and fix it.  I delayed writing this, but I don't really want anyone else to go through a similar experience.  I just cannot recommend them.

    OLD PUEBLO MASONRY INC
Steve and the crew at Old Pueblo Masonry were professional, prompt and did precise work on the wall and anything else involved in the job.  We had a cement truck in the yard to pour the footings and we had to be very careful of the septic area.  The gal on the truck was excellent and we had no issues with the pour.  Steve's workers were on time and even with some rain delays, the project was completed in a timely manner.

    LORETO MASONRY LLC
Orlando was on the job site with his workers everyday and showed up on time every morning. He and his group were meticulous and yet were able to complete the job in less then two weeks. We are extremely pleased with the company's work ethic. We had to have them re-dig the footer because we did not like the placement and this was done with no objection or hassle. He listened to what we had envisioned for the wall and gave good advice in what changes he would do. We allowed him to make the changes and I am glad we did because it turned out to be better then what we had originally planned. They did a beautiful job in curving the wall and the lines are straight. Loreta Masonry is highly recommended. We will be using them for placing a wall in our front yard as well has pouring concrete for our driveway.
