Transmission Service reviews in Chandler

We had taken it to another service location and they couldn't repair it and told us that the part was no longer available. They charged us a large amount for a transmission service, but didn't solve the problem. We were pleased that AAMCO know what to do and where to get the part. The van is now is perfect running condition because we took it to a specialist.

Very accommodating and professional. Really knew the ins and outs of transmissions in general and our make/model in particular. Was able to get rubber boot part on column shifter and replace on short notice. Excellent shop.

The owner and staff at Tri-city Transmission were wonderful to work with. Took time with us and explained everything that needed to be done. Saved us thousands of dollars! Couldn't be more pleased with the service.

In October I took my car to Tempe Transmission Factory for what appeared to be a minor repair (the car had a squeak). They had my car for just over a week and advised the repairs would cost over $1200.  I paid the cost of repairs and received a two-year warranty.
A few days later I began to get concerned about how the car was shifting and that it was leaking fluid. When I put the car in reverse it would not engage.  It was necessary to apply the gas in order for the car to shift gears. Once the gas was applied the car made a very loud clank sound such as metal hitting metal very forcefully.  I called the transmission shop and told Dennis
of the issue. Dennis stated “the car had a computer system governing the transmission and that system needed to cycle through its process. Once the cycle process was completed the transmission would shift smoothly.”
I kept driving the car but never saw improvement in the shifting problem. On November 26 I took the car back to Tempe Transmission Factory for inspection as I was concerned about making the drive to the family holiday for Thanksgiving. Dennis informed me the car was safe to drive and I should bring it back after the holiday. They would look at it then (He did not test drive the car).  Five hours later my car made a noise that made me think part of the car had fallen out on the road. The car had to be towed back to the shop as it was undrivable.
I spent many weeks making calls and asking about my car.  When I asked why the repairs were taking so long Dennis replied
"you have to understand, your car is not a priority with us! "  Thirty-five days later my car was returned to me. I was charged an additional $1500 for parts necessary to complete the repair work that the warranty did not cover. I questioned this charge because the car was not shifting improperly when I brought it in to them the first time, it was clear the issue had resulted from their faulty repair work. I asked for a list of parts that were purchased and was told by the manager that they never gave a list of parts. I should just take his word for what was done. In addition to the $1500 in repair charges, I have been required to pay over
    $1000 for a rental car.
Dennis refused to allow me to test drive the car before paying for the 2nd set of repairs, stating he would not be giving the car back if it was not fully-functioning. I reminded him he gave the car back to me in October with full knowledge that the transmission was not shifting properly.
I called the transmission shop on January 2, 2014, because the car is making a high-pitched whistle sound when it shifts from 2nd to Drive. Rob has informed me that I needed to bring the car back because it sounds like a loose vacuum hose.
I brought the car back in to the shop. After a test drive by the manager, they took my care back into the shop. A few minutes later I was informed they could not find the reason for the noise but were sure it was safe to drive.
For three weeks the made the whistle noise and leaked fluid. On January 25, 2014 I attempted to run errands. The car started but stalled when I put it in gear. Monday morning I had the car towed back to Tempt Transmission Factory. The manager informed me it could be a simple repair that would take a few hours, or maybe two days and he would keep me informed.
A few hours later I was told the “simple repair” did not work and they had ordered a part that was expected by 9:30AM Tuesday morning. The manager also told me he would work on my car first, putting it in front of everyone else. Tuesday morning I was told the part was not on the truck but they expected it in the afternoon. On Wednesday I was told the part was in but they were “backed up” with other cars. I asked about the statement that my car would be worked on first and was told I should understand they were busy.
On Thursday afternoon I was told they were “just now putting the car up on the rack and would let me know.” On Friday morning I was told, once again, that they were busy and would get to my car as soon as possible. On Friday afternoon I was told the car would not be fixed that day and it would be Monday before they would know anything.
This line of claims for additional parts and being too busy to work on my car has continued for three weeks now. I have asked repeatedly about the statement that my car would be their first priority, and have been told I need to understand they are very busy. My car is still in their shop, un-drivable, and I am told there will again be additional parts charges. Once again, the supposed warranty carries no value.
I am three weeks into a rental car with no end in sight. I have informed the manager that I am talking to legal counsel regarding the reimbursement of what is currently over $1500 in rental car charges.  The manager claims he has attempted to contact the owner and left no fewer than five messages, but the owner is not returning his calls.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP FOR ANY TYPE OF REPAIR WORK.

They ran it thru the flusher, but it was still contaminated some afterward.  When I mention to the Mgr that I wasn't happy with the results, he offered to do it again (but only one more time) for no extra charge.  When that was completed, I was very happy with the results, and how ADS had treated me.  These guys are fair, professional, punctual, and competitively priced.

I would not recommend these guys for auto transmission service. I took my car to them because the check engine light came on and it felt like the car was shifting hard, so I thought it was transmission related. I took my car here, and the one thing I can say is they are prompt in getting back to you, because they called about 2 hours later with their assessment. They informed me that they could not figure out the problem with the car without taking out the transmission, which would cost 900 dollars I didn't think this sounded correct, so I decided to get a second opinion. I found out that there were other ways to find the problem, and was glad I didn't fork out 900 to have aamco figure that out. The guy I spoke to was professional, I just don't know if he was very honest. I wish they would have let me know there were other options besides me shelling out 900 bucks to fix a problem they could not guarantee was there. Then, when I went to get my car, they charged 80 for the diagnostic test, which I was not expecting (I thought we spoke about a number closer to $50). All in all, I would not take my car back to them.

These guys are really good. I took my car to them after taking it to another auto transmission place because of the ridiculously high quote that I got from the aforementioned place. I told them the problem I was experiencing, and they agreed to take it and drive it around as well as run a diagnostic on the car. It took a couple days before I heard from them which was a little longer than I expected, but when I did speak with them, they told me that they could not re-create the problem and since the problem could possibly be one of three things, all of which would cost quite a bit to fix with no guarantee that this was the original problem, they recommended that I hold on to the car until the problem arose again. I thought this was really honest and appreciated them not trying to charge me a bunch of money to fix a problem that they could not specifically find.

Both Darrell and Bob were very responsive and professional. My transmission was leaking and Darrell gave me a whole range of repair options and prices. Starting with just replacing the leaking seal all the way up to a full rebuild. I had gotten several quotes from around the area and 202?s was by far the best price. Some places wouldn?t even touch a 1960?s transmission, but 202 had no problem with it. In fact, it turns out my car has an early 80?s trans in it and Bob instantly recognized the subtle differences between the two and made sure to get me the right parts. They also ask that you bring it back after driving 500 miles to make sure everything is running correctly, which I appreciate.
I haven?t put too many miles on it yet, and I?ll update my review if things turn bad, but I don?t expect that to happen. So far I am very pleased with 202 Transmission and definitely recommend them.

They were friendly, but I felt there were many hidden charges. When they rebuilt my transmission they did not reuse any of the parts and really maxed out the price. They took forever to get the work done.

My experience went very well.  It turned out be great.  They were on time and they always did what they said they would.  They did little extra work.  They were decent on the pricing.  The price was reasonable.  It was a little slow in getting some answers and that’s the only negative thing and other than that they were really nice.
