  • It was amazing from start to finish. Rick Hill was professional, personable, very quickly assessed the situation and knew exactly what had to be done! He handled everything and went above and beyond in so many ways. I have had several other companies do work in the past and I can honestly say I have never trusted anyone as much as I did Rick. Once he explained what had to be done, I was certain everything would be done correctly and completely - the first time! I would highly recommend Rick and will not hesitate to use him again in the future!

  • I hate these people, they raise it, raise it, and raise it for no good reason. For their service it is good. They usually answer right away but they keep raising the price. I had telephone service and I canceled it and I was bundle. I thought I was going to save $35 a month but since it was no longer bundled they raised it instead. The only problem is frequently they reschedule sporting events I am recording in my DVR and do not notice me so I don't get them recorded. So far there have been 2 formula one races I have missed because they do not end up playing them when they said they would and I had set up my recorder for. That is pretty annoying, and when you call them they say its NBC and just pass the buck.

  • I got specials from COX in April 2013 with 2 year contract at price of $51.xx per month. This was suppose to expire in April 2015.
I called COX customer support to take away phone line and reduce my plan to fit in my budget, I was told that I can get the same service with same price for one more year without any contract so I agreed over phone.
Because of auto pay I did not check the payments regularly, I noticed in Sept that I am being over charged ($71.xx) by COX so I called cox customer support, s/he acknowledged the issued, promised to reduce the bill to $51.xx but it did not happen. COX customer support personnel accepted the fact that I suppose to get same service for 12 more months.
I called COX customer service again in Oct/Nov after finding out that my bill is still not reduced. I was told that there is some technical issue the system is not allowing him to fix, he will work with other team and fix it soon. This is the same promise I was given in Oct. He said that I will get all the credit back since April one it will be fixed so I don't have worry about it. Nothing happened.
I called customer service again today (12/21/15) and to know multiple surprising things. One that I suppose to be paying $71.xx as per my plan, though there were update on the account with promises to me during earlier calls. I came to know very first time that I am under 2 year contract for the service with $71.xx  from April 2015 to Mar 2016 and then I will shoot up to full price of the service which is about $100. I never agreed to such contract, It was not told to me in Mar 2015 when talked to customer service.
At this point not sure how to get out of this situation.
This is happening to me after being 12 years with COX internet services.
NOTE TO SAVE OTHER CONSUMERS: COX told me that contract details were there in April bill, which I could have dispute in 60 days. Being on auto pay and had belief that COX customer service will not cheat me, I never read paper bill fully. Now COX trapped me in 2 year contract which was never talked during phone discussion. Please note the situation and be care full with fraud by COX.

  • It is bad. They are horrible. There is nothing that I like about their service. It never works. You always talk to a computer. They tell you they will come between 10:00 and 4:00 they give you a 4 to 6 hour window. I hate that.

  • First of all, I'm thrilled to have my computer working again- thank you Joe!  Our problems started a couple of months ago.  The computer started slowing down, stuttering then freezing.  First of all it was just the internet then it spread to every program.  The first thing (ok, maybe the third thing) I thought of was a virus.  However, my anti-virus program didn't catch anything though it was continually being hit.  I did the usual things, clearing out temp files using IE, running defrag, scouring the internet for solutions.  I ended up calling Joe since none of those things did anything.  He got to me that same day.

Joe started by dialing in remotely.  He first ran a cleaner that found 1.3 million temp files that IE had not found.  Yes, it's unbelievable!  It took hours to delete all those as the computer was so slow.  Then he ran an virus program.  Nada.  At the end of 7 hours of cleaning, it ran a bit better but not super.  He suggested changing the IP address to try to get rid of the constant virus hits.  It was possible that Norton running constantly cleaning up hits was bogging down the system and hogging all the memory.  He felt that something was still wrong but we left it there as it had taken 7 hours to get to that point.  I changed the IP address and started collecting MAC addresses of our mobile devices, but the system was just getting worse again.  It became totally unusable.  I called Joe and took it over to his place immediately.

The next day after he'd dug deep into the system and ran additional programs, he found the virus that was the problem.  He manually removed all of the associated files.  Now it works great plus at his suggestion, I got a new router that takes advantage of Cox's speed.  So the speed is better than ever!

The first round he charged only $273 for more than 7 hours of work.  The next round, only $80.  I was thrilled that it was so reasonable as it was a ton of work!  I know a little bit about computers but not enough to find this type of problem.  I do know it takes a lot of experience and patience to tease out a solution. Joe was extremely patient as it was a much bigger job than we'd first thought and he's very experienced..  He kept plugging away until he found a solution.  We're very glad to have found Joe and will not hesitate to use him again (though I hope we don't have to soon!).

  • It's pretty dependable and reliable. The internet speed is consistent. They seem to fix problems quickly. It's pretty much like a large company, it's programmatic. If you have any knowledge of all of what;'s wrong, you can't tell them, they have to go through their process and figure it out until it was solved which always annoys me but that's just the way it is.

  • Cox Communications has always been very easy to work with, from online shopping for the best program and rate for me, initial connections of all 3 services, to repair and maintenance services. Their representatives have been punctual and professional.

  • Had to exchange regular cable box for HD box to accommodate a new HD TV.
The exchange went smoothly. The wait for service was acceptable. The instructions with the new box and cable were
provided in good packaging. There was no charge for the exchange. The representative was friendly and professional.
The one item that is not handy is having to take time to drive to a shopping area, parking and going into a retail store.
Also, I had to have a daughter hook up the box. Due to my age and lack of dexterity, it is difficult to perform this task.
I'm sure I could have had a service call from a technician if time had not been an issue. I did not get information regarding
a home visit . This procedure seems to be the way of the times.
I will continue to use this cable company for now, at least until the rates go up again. I have had to discontinue some of
my extra channels to maintain the total cost of the service.
Cox still is my provider of choice for internet and TV.

  • The service person was nice enough but he could not figure out why my cable and internet were not working. He tried to imply that my modem was broken, even though it was only 2 months old. Two more service reps came to my home and it took 3 people to fix my cable and internet and it took 3 hours. But they did fix it.
