Driveway Gate Installation reviews in Chandler

  • I called Pinnacle for an estimate about 5 years ago, and don't remember his name but the gentleman that came out was nice, professional, friendly and answered all of my questions. I wasn't able to get the work done at that time, but based on his visit specifically (I'd had 3 other estimates) I knew I would use Pinnacle. When I called them again a young lady by the name of Brandy came and she was very nice and I agreed to have the do the work. I was not there when they arrived the first day, so I can't say if they were punctual, because I'm not sure when they arrived, but work Brandy explained would be done the first day was done. The wall was completed the next day and the gates were put in the day after that. There was an error with one of the gates that was supposed to have a dead bolt and not a gravity latch, but the issue was corrected as quickly as possible. They did a great job and I would use them again. I have to say, their estimate/price was not the least expensive that I received, but you get what you pay for and with their customer service I knew I'd be in great hands. My only suggestion would be to give a confirmation call the day/night before the work is to begin. I got the estimate almost 2 weeks before the work began and didn't remember until I got home and people were in my back yard. If my dog was an outdoor dog, I'm sure I would have left him outside.

  • I called and they gave me a quote over the phone that was acceptable. They suggested talking to their sister company as this was a small job and with some minimums, they may be able to do it cheaper. The sister company did quote lower in some areas, but overall where a higher. I called back and asked them to have someone come out and review to make sure we were on target. Bob came out and reviewed it and made some suggestions on specifics. I did have to do some prelim work myself but I had anticipated that. The workers showed up on time when they were supposed to and did the demo work and put up the wall. They were done a lot faster than I thought they would be. Bob stopped by afterward to get the final measurements on the gate that afternoon. The came several days sooner than planned and hung the gates. They were straight well balanced and looked and operate great.

  • Everything went great and Jon's team did a awesome job! The new block posts on my fence look great and his team even repaired some cracking on my block wall while they were there...and I didn't even ask! About a week and a half after the block wall and concrete was finished they had the fence made and the second team came out for the install. They also did a great job and only had to come back the next morning to install an addition 3-4' of v-track as they were a little short. The only thing I would comment that needs improvement is communication. Sometimes it could be a little difficult to get ahold of the team, but I wouldn't not hire them because of it. I love the finished product and will be calling Jon again when I am ready to put in a new gate on the other side of my home.

  • Two things that have tons of opportunity to go wrong: construction, and splitting finances with your neighbor. Luckily, my neighbor found Bob and Bob at Sunset Fence. These guys and their crew were amazing, made the whole "building a wall in the back yard with the neighbor" situation completely painless and the output was amazing. The new block fence looks amazing, their crew was super nice and really professional, and they spent more time discussing timeline and steps than any contractor we've had since we bought this "fixer upper" 6 years ago. I hate mystery timelines and poorly set expectations, it's my thing. It seems to be the project style for a lot of contractors, I was happy to see that wasn't the case here. Specifically, when your yard is opened up to the whole alley, it's good to have a timeline and expectations set and (bonus) rely on them. Great job, guys! Thank you so much for our beautiful new block wall!

  • I  requested bids from several Angie's List providers and chose Sunset Fence based on the responses received; that does not mean cheapest.  This job was for demolition and cart away of 90+ feet of wooden fence along backyard alley, 10 feet of wooden fence at house front and a concrete block fence/gate on the other side of the front of house. Then construct new 6+ foot tall 4 inch interlocking concrete block fence.
The work was done on schedule, Bob called with daily updates on the work: that was great customer service! The work was completed in a professional manner: footings were poured (they indicate they use rebar, since not there for pouring I trusted it was) one day, took two more to complete.  I used upgraded gates for their 1 1/2 inch frame (vs 1 inch) which were about $450 each.  They were installed about 3 weeks later.
Can't say this too often when remodeling: a great experience with a friendly, courteous and professional contractor. At a fair price.

  • All pre-install communication was done via messaging on Angies List.  They were very efficient and provided photos and product names so I could select a color of slat.  They arrived punctually at 7am s promised.  My husband had already removed the old slats so estimated time was 8 hours.  They sanded down and wet washed and degreased the steel frames.  They repainted and sealed the frames.  After a short drying period they cut and installed the new slats.  Several times throughout the process they asked us to double check their work.  they did a great job and cleaned up after the work was completed.

  • Requested estimates from 3 companies.  TNP was first to respond with an estimate.  All three bids were quite close in amount, but TNP's prompt response and commitment to complete project in a timely fashion was the deciding factor.  Jim completed the work on the day he promised and did an outstanding job.  We are very happy with the new gate.

  • We had a double gate installed by Great Gates. The gate itself looks beautiful, but Great Gates did not measure it correctly. It was too short, and yet they still installed it. There was a gap where the two sides were supposed to meet in the middle, so it barely locked. Worse, at the bottom, where there was supposed to be a 1 - 1.5and quot; gap up from the ground, there was a gaping 2.5 - 3.5and quot; gap all the way across. It looked absolutely terrible. They tried to correct the problem, but they just installed a jimmy-rigged plate across the bottom to cover the gap. It still looks bad. I am very disappointed in this gate. I would never recommend Great Gates to anyone.

  • I made an appointment at the Phoenix Home & Garden Show for Allied Gate to come out and give me an estimate.  Don arrived the day of the scheduled appointment and we reviewed the different door designs and we chose one that we liked.  The door arrived approximately 6 weeks later and was installed but unfortunately, a couple of the spindles vibrated when the door closed.  Allied Gate sent someone to check it out and I made a couple of suggestions to add some scrollwork to the design to help stabilize it. Levi had me come to the shop to see how the scrollwork would look and approve the change, they made the adjustments and reinstalled the door a few weeks later.  I appreciate their patience in making sure that I was happy with the security door. This is not an inexpensive purchase and is one of the first impressions my guests have when they walk up to the front door and I want it to look nice and I will enjoy using it in the spring/fall when the weather is cooler and we can open up the door to let a breeze in.
Thank you Allied Gate for working with me to get the door to look great!  I appreciate your attention to detail and you have a happy customer!

  • Frank and his helper arrived as planned.  They were professional and had all necessary items to complete the job.  I was given the choice of stain colors and then went inside.  They worked all day and did an amazing job, after which I asked them to paint the dog gate.  Gate looks fantastic - Frank takes tremendous pride in his work.

As he was finishing up, he sprayed silicone lube on the gate hinges which messed up the paint.  He felt really bad and agreed to fix in the next week which he did (even though it was very minor).

I wish more contractors had the pride in their work that Frank does - I would easily hire him again and recommend him to others!
