    COMCAST CABLE
They give good service with no problems. The price is affordable and decent. I live in a rural area and I haven't had to have them come out other than for the installation.

    DakotaCom.Net
Their tech support answers quickly via phone or email and speak English and know their stuff. They also answer dumb questions without actually pointing out how dumb the questions are! I appreciate that. Today I was helping someone try to set up an email account with Qwest (Hint: it's almost impossible to do) and got so frustrated by the wait times and thick accents of the tech people - who had no clue in any language - that I called Dakotacom and they told me quickly and accurately how to set up the account. Remember, I was setting this up for someone who was not even their customer. If you want a good ISP and one where you can use Outlook as your email client instead of the web based stripped down models, then I'd go with Dakotacom.

    Orbitel Communications - Sun Lakes
The internet speed is excellent. The cable is OK; it's TV and I don't care to watch TV. I have package with some different channels but no DVR. Their service is reliable and they come right in when you have a problem and they fix it with no charge.

    COX COMMUNICATIONS
I ordered the service on-line to save money, and I already had my own modem that was compatible with the service I wanted, and knew how to do the set-up on my own. The only negative in all this was that in the directions for ordering on-line, they referred to a starter package that would be sent Federal Express and would cost $19.99. A Cox person came out to make the connection at the pole. When I didn't receive my starter package, I sent an email to Cox. Within 24 hours I got a response telling me there was no package on order, but I could either go to a local service center or I could call tech support and they would just walk me through the process. I called tech support and worked with a very polite, knowledgeable customer service rep who discovered there was something wrong with the connection. I was able to get a next day appointment for a repair person to come out. He (Johnny) found that the cable was not connected in the box. In the process of making the correction, he also decided the present cable was old and rather than wait for it to completely wear out so I would need to make another repair call, he gave me a new one then and there. He also came into the house to check my connection, and had to make a correction with the Mac ID number I had given tech support. And then I was on-line and everything is great! There were no additional charges for the adjustments that had to be made to get me on-line. So far I find the company to be very responsive, attentive and professional.

    Design By Nur
Nur did the impossible by helping me finally get two websites off the ground.  One is a fine art website for my paintings and the other is a site for selling my mosaic work, and it has some complicated ecommerce.  Nur took the work done by previous designers and whipped it into shape in no time flat.  She gave me tutorials over the internet.  She  answered every call and solved every problem.  Artists are not the easiest clients, but Nur was endlessly patient with me.  I'm really thrilled with both sites and have gotten lots of positive feedback from clients, family and friends.  I highly recommend Nur as a web designer.

    Cox Cable
They were supposed to charge me a fee for coming out and fixing the internet, but they did it for free. I would tell the others that their service people are good. They fixed the problem I was having. I do not love their cable service, though.

    DakotaCom.Net
I was a Dakotacom customer for many years. Their service was reasonably priced, tech support was always helpful, even with stupid questions. When they were bought out by another company, the quality of their support went down a little, but tech support hours were expanded; someone always answered the phone or called back within a couple of hours, and was able to fix the problem. We no longer have Dakotacom because we moved to another part of town that they do not service. I sorely miss them since we had to go with one of the national companies with pricey service and non-existant tech support.

    Clear
The staff were friendly (esp. for Philadelphia!), helpful, and clear. The manager went out of his way to assist me with the update process. The speed of the internet is much faster than what I used to get with land-based modem service, and faster than what comcast advertises (1.5 mbs) for the same price. After updating the Mac, I found the CLEAR installation to be pretty painless (and I'm not esp. tech savvy). I've only had the internet up and running one evening at this point, but so far I'm completely satisfied. FYI- with the option I purchased (the USB wireless unit) you can use it anywhere you want to around town, but ONLY for one computer/device at a time (it doesn't project a wifi signal).

    Cox Communication
When I called Cox (because my computer would not connect to the internet),I was quickly connected to a live person much to my surprise.  She looked up my record and said my modem needed to be "refreshed"  (I think those were her words.)  In just a couple of minutes I was again connected to the internet.  There was no charge because I pay a monthly fee for cable TV, phone and high-speed internet.  But for how little I use my landline phone and cable TV I think the overall charges are too high.

When I called, they explained everything very well. When the technician came out, he explained everything very thoroughly. He was very helpful. I needed TV service so I went with it. They are competitive; I think that the pricing is in the ballpark. I would use them again.
