Bruno Nascimento - Health & Life Insurance Broker
Bruno was extremely helpful! In a very short time he found the best option for my health insurance needs. I am in a very odd situation where I have preexisting conditions but I am unhappy with the affordable care act plan that I have. Bruno was able to very quickly and clearly explain all the rules and options to me. With his help I now have a second private insurance plan. It won't cover my preexisting condition but I won't be left with no help if something new comes up, which is what I wanted. I called him first on Friday afternoon and he called me back on Monday afternoon and sent me a quote right away. I had tried to figure this all out by myself but it was extremely confusing and I got nowhere in a few hours of searching and reading online. I would definitely recommend calling Bruno if you need health insurance for any reason.

    USHEALTH Advisors - Chad Efron
Chad is incredible. He always gets promptly back to you with any answers you need and if he doesn't know right away he finds out. I had lots of questions and he never seemed bothered or annoyed. It was a pleasure working with him.

    BLUE CROSS & BLUE SHIELD
I always am in awe of how easy it is to use Blue Cross Blue Shield. As long as you use qualified providers the entire process works great. It is reassuring to walk into a doctor's office and know that your only responsibility is the copay. Having the Explanation of Benefits form sent to you after the claim is processed is also a great benefit since you can then track the claims and the amount you paid for tax preparation. Have been covered by other companies in the past , Blue Cross is by far the best for health care coverage.

    TRICARE DENTAL
They are good insurance. They cover two cleanings a years, 100 percent on x-rays once a year, and 80 percent on crowns things like that. I get it through the military. I would recommend it to any military retiree. Tri Care Dental is the best they have to offer.

    United Health Care
United Health Care has a great website.  They are prompt in paying providers and sending out notices.  Most every provider will participate in the coverage.  Occasionally there will be a goofy finding on a claim (for example, they will cover a pair of orthotics for your feet, but will only pay one casting fee, even though one has two different feet), but they generally pay claims as anticipated.  The cost of coverage is very reasonable.

    Aetna Inc
With the never ending health changes, went to a CDHP this year and I couldn't be happier. Deductible was high but once that was met the coverage was so much better than the PPO I had been in in prior years.

    United HealthCare
The good- - UHC has a wide selection of in-network providers. They're huge and have a lot of pricing power in the Tucson market. - When a provider tries to 'balance bill' you (charges beyond insurance+copay), UHC will step in (and step on them). This does not apply to out-of-network providers! This happens 5-10% of the time. - Normally, claims processing and provider payments are quite fast and accurate. - This plan is a fairly high-end plan (advertised as $17K/year for a family), so we don't suffer from limited coverages and lots of exclusions. The bad- - Providers will often submit a complex set of charges ('un-bundling'), UHC will then selectively pay some of them and dispute the others ('bundling'). This can result in us getting a final provider bill years after the service date and trying to figure out what happened. Keep your records until the abandoned-property statute kicks in (5 yrs in AZ) ! - The HSA we're using this year imposes a major paperwork burden. We have to use OptumBank for the HSA (did I mention that UHC owns it), but this is not a plus or minus. For such a huge company, the UHC website is quite often 'down for maintenance'. We've had to go back several years to resolve some issues (see above), so don't fall for 'going paperless' since you get maybe two years of online history at most. The so-so- - If we have a claim dispute, calling UHC is a mixed bag; sometimes the claims rep is helpful, sometimes not. Just hang up and try again. They do log everything that you and they discuss, so if you get a surly rep don't say much. We've usually had our few disputes work out in our favor, though it can take a year or more.

    BLUE CROSS & BLUE SHIELD
Blue Cross is pretty good. I like them. We had a choice and we've had them for about 3 or 4 years. Their customer service is great. Anytime I need to ask anybody a question, they're wonderful. I wish our co-pays were lower. And they pay on time.

    United HealthCare
The plan itself is very expensive as a PPO, but it covers what I need for my complex health problems most of the time. The nurse helpline has very caring and supportive nurses with whom I have talked. My problems are a bit different from the average patient, and they have gone with the flow of what my needs seemed to be to try to help me get additional assistance from providers, whether in or out of network. I have stuck with them because of pre-existing conditions and eligibility through only one group to which I belong. But I am not feeling a need to change other than if I could get as good coverage at lower cost.

    WPS Tricare for Life
They tell me where I can go to and then my doctor will recommend another doctor.  Their service is very good.
