  • Terrible Arizona RV Service Dishonest and Incompetent Now that’s a bad combination Arizona RV Service gave us absolutely terrible service. Did not show up when scheduled multiple times. They were scheduled to come to our site about five times and were hours late for most of the appointments. Lied about why they didn’t come the next morning after leaving us with no water. One of the direct lies was when Andy the repairman left in the evening and said he would be back first thing the next morning. The next morning, I found him in another part of the park working on someone’s TV. I asked him why he didn’t come to us as he had promised. He said his boss had told him to first go fix this TV problem. I called his boss right away and he said he had not told Andy to do the TV problem first. I told him that either he or Andy was lying. He didn’t like that and threatened to leave us with no water at all. Clearly, one of the two was lying. I don’t care which one it was, one of them was flat out lying. Later the boss apologized. Lied about Extended Warranty Coverage. Andy wanted me to pay for some things that he claimed the Warranty company had refused to pay. When we got on the phone with Jay at the Extended Warranty company, Jay said to the repair person “Your company was talking to me and I didn’t refuse to pay those items”. Arizona RV was trying to get me to pay something that they said the Extended Warranty company refused to pay so they could get paid twice for the same items. Refused to give us a copy of the invoice. How can you possibly explain refusal to let us take a picture of what we signed. We begged, insisted, and tried to demand that he give us a copy of the invoice or at least let me take a picture of what I had signed. He repeatedly absolutely refused. He claimed the manager would email a copy to me. I knew that wouldn’t happen and it didn’t. Didn’t give us the old part they claimed was bad. This by itself wouldn’t be that large a red flag but when combined with everything else this is suspicious. Clamps on hoses. He used vice grips with sharp edges. An RV repair service working on heaters with hoses should carry proper clamps to avoid damaging hoses. Proper clamps are not expensive. You can get 3 for 10 bucks. Loose hose. We left the morning after he supposedly finished the job. On the way to the gate, we saw a trail of water. I shut off the water pump to keep it from continuously leaking into the basement for our 1600 mile trip home. When I went to work on it myself, I found a connection to the fresh water on top of the heater to be not even finger tight. Sloppy work and sloppy testing. Diagnosis. . I was suspicious of the diagnosis that it was a bad mixing valve from the beginning. A mixing valve is a brass mechanical valve. It seemed very unlikely that it would be intermittent. Arizona RV kept insisting that the mixing valve was the problem. After they replaced the mixing valve, the problem didn’t change. Arizona RV ordered another mixing valve and replaced it again. Still no change. The dealer who eventually fixed the problem said they had never replaced a mixing valve for an Oasis. They are a big service dealer and I trust them. Simple fix. We use the RV mostly during the Winter. This year, we were in Arizona for the month of January. Since then, we’ve used it for a couple shorter trips. The hot water has continued to be intermittent. I took the coach to an authorized dealer last week and they fixed it. It was low on fluid. This is the fluid in the burner and not the house water that was leaking. I say that because the leak I referred to earlier was not related to this fluid. I didn’t know and apparently Andy didn’t know that there is a reservoir in the back for the Oasis fluid. Bottom Line. In the end, Arizona RV charged us and our extended warranty company over $1500 and they didn’t fix the problem. A good dealer fixed the problem for $150. Service organizations like Arizona RV are part of the reason extended warranties have become so expensive.
