  • We have been patients of his since we moved here in April. We were recommended to him by my husband's cardiologist. He is very responsive and thorough. We have been impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He takes time with his patients even though he is in an urgent care setting.

  • My experience has been positive and good. They are always very friendly and very nice. They don't keep me waiting too long. Their facility is very clean and nicely done. Basically it's a positive experience. I go about twice a year for check-ups and follow ups. I can always get in and if I can't see the doctor I can get into an assistant. I've never been turned down from getting in.

  • Let me begin by stating my most positive comment. I love Dr. Barbara Barker - she is competent, personable, professional and gives the necessary time to have a conversation with the patient (which so many no longer do).
    Next, I want to qualify my complaints below by saying that I have been moving frequently over the last 10 years, so my issues below are tempered with the fact that I have had many different PCMs and been to many different health care facilities over the last decade. I have also been a health care administrator myself, as recently as 2006, so I understand much about health care management.
    Aside from Dr. Barker, and a very nice new facility, the rest of my experience with Advanced Cardiac Specialists (ACS) has been terrible.
    The nurses have made a veritable mess of coordinating my prescriptions with Express Scripts. I have had to call ACS back eight times already and the issues are still not resolved. You cannot talk to a live nurse if you have prescription issue; you have to leave a voicemail. More than half the time my voicemail messages are not returned. When I do get to speak to a nurse, they keep claiming they are correcting and resending the info to Express Scripts, but I doubt it - I have used Express Scripts for years with other doctors, without these issues. Last time I spoke to the nurse, I verified all the phone numbers and asked ACS that they keep a copy of the fax sheet that shows the fax went through to Express Scripts, as I want to see a copy of it. I was told that was not possible (I'm growing more skeptical all the time here). Express scripts tells me that they have tried to call the Doctor's office to get things resolved but they receive the same thing I do - unreturned voice messages. Some of the issues with Express Scripts were the fault of the Doctor's office to begin with - they forgot to include a quantity on one prescription (shouldn't they be double-checking this stuff for quality control?). On another one, they failed to note that the medication should be the extended release (XR) type, even though I gave them the paperowork for my old prescription showing that it is XR. Trying to get all this straightened out is taking so much time I am about ready to give up, go elsewhere and start over again.
    Dr. Barker is very good, but she also must be very popular. I called to reschedule an appointment I had lined up for the 3rd week in May and the earliest they could give me was in late July! Absolutely unacceptable. I tried again later, got the same thing. In fact, the dates are just moving further into the future. Perhaps I should have seen this coming when I had to wait more than 2 1/2 months to get my first and quot;new patientand quot; appointment.
    The wait times on the phone to schedule an appointment can be quite long. Be prepared to have something productive to do while waiting. The wait times in the waiting room are also unacceptably long. Last time I wasn't even called back until almost 30 minutes past my appointment time, and then proceeded to wait longer in the back.
    In my opinion, the entire management group of this facility need to be fired.
    As much as I hate to do so (I thought I found the perfect doc for me), I am going to find another PCM and go elsewhere. I am just so tired of fighting to get my prescriptions correct and having my time wasted whenever I deal with this facility. Having to do it all over again I would not go to this facility. I also would not recommend them to anyone.
    If my prescriptions don't get correctly fixed in this current iteration, I will be contacting not only the administration and management of the organization, I will also be filing a complaint with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

  • Deseret Family Medicine clinic is not difficult to get into. I don’t have any complaints at all. They are good about giving referrals for specialists whenever necessary. We have had no issues with the doctors that we have dealt with. The staff is cordial; we have had no problems with them. I would recommend them.
