  • I cannot say enough good things about this place.  They REALLY know their business, care about customer service; no question.

    I have injuries and getting those cushions right is crucial to prevent pain.  SW totally understands and we are trying new foam.  Daniella has been so understanding and we are working as a team to get the foam just right. :-)   RUN to these guys if you want excellent service, I know they will come through.  Very nice people who are service first.

  • I had never had cushions restuffed, but this was recommended to me by a friend who is a interior designer who lives out of state as an economical way to extend the life of my sofa.  Was not a member of Angies List at the time, so took pot-luck and chose this vendor.

    When I got to the location, I told the lady I wanted these to be stuffed to match exactly what was in them.  Without opening the cushions, she responded that they could not do that.  I took her word for it and she informed me they had 2 types of foam, disappointed I chose a foam, but in the end, they were too hard, and could not use them at all.  I knew nothing about this service and took her word for this. Ok I made a bad choice, but WAIT...

    I went to a different upholstery place recently to have these 3 same sofa cushions to be restuffed again and took a chair cushion that  matched the original sofa cushions and told them I wanted the feel to be like the chair cushion which still contained the original stuffing.  When this new vendor opened the chair cushion, he told me that the foam was an insert inside of a goose & duck down envelope.  I had no idea I had these goose/duck down wrappings around a foam cushion!   Valley interiors when they opened these sofa cushions would have seen these feather envelopes.  They should have replaced the foam inside these envelopes and that would be the end of it.  What happened was they KEPT my feather encasements and stuffed it with foam and batting only. Now it will cost me just under $300 to replace the encasements alone, before we even talk about he foam.  Basically I paid Valley Interiors to steal my feather encasements.

    Good service would have been to call me and explain that the situation; this never happened.  I paid them and accepted I made a bad choice, but the real truth was not revealed until years later.  Very disappointed and feel violated actually.

    Initially, they may have not realized I had feather encasements, but when they did realize, they should have contacted me explained how we should do this job, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should that have kept these encasements I now have to replace.

    I would rate them T for Thief if I could. 

    btw, the new upholstery vendor I found on Angie'ls List is the one who explained this me.  Possibly VI is ok doing design and window treatements, BUT RUN fast when it come to restuffing cushions.

    I feel strongly people should hear this story; buyer beware.

  • Worked with Josh Britton who walked me through the order.  Our table was round and converted to oval with the leaf.  Measurements were right on and the table pad was delivered in the perfect size.  Quality of the pad(s) is excellent and pretty much grandchildren-proof.  Highly recommend Bergers.

  • I was looking to have my Mother's Lane Chest restored and coincidently received an email from Angie's List offering a $200 discount coupon for $99.  I called All Finish Wood Repair and arranged to bring it in to have them take a look at it and to provide me with a quote.  I met with Ron Jacobs (owner), who was personally involved, very professional and he quoted me a fair price.  Ron repaired and restored what appear to be a weather beaten trunk it to it's original beautiful condition and did it in half the time he initially quoted (14-days versus a month). My wife is extremely happy with the job All Finish Wood Repair did and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any wood product repaired, restored or refinished.  They do excellent work!

  • FABULOUS, FABULOUS, FABULOUS! Had my couch recovered with a contemporary, geometric pattern. Bill matched up the design on all surfaces, including the two throw pillows he included at no extra charge. His labor charge was half of what I had been quoted by another upholsterer plus he came to my house to give the estimate the same day I called him. He brought a sample book with him and also suggested I look at Fabric Warehouse where I could get a 20% discount on materials if I used his service. In the end I asked for an additional sample book from him and chose a fabric from it. He gave me a 25% discount off top quality fabric, ordered it from my house when he came for final measurements, took the couch away that day and returned it to me 2 weeks flat. The work is absolutely beautiful and he and his wife are so very nice and very professional. I plan to have him reupholster a chair for the same room as soon as I decide on a fabric. I give him the highest recommendation possible. He works all over the Valley so don't be put off by the New River address.

  • Mr. Culp is very professional. He was on time, knowledgable ,helpful, polite, and tuned our piano beautifully. We will work with him from now on to maintain our piano. At the time of his visit we discovered he would have moved our piano for a better price than what we had paid. If or when we move, we will employ Mr. Culp for that service too.,

  • I had an Ethan Allen upholstered chair that was ruined by a cat.  I thought about replacing it with a new one but Ethan Allen didn't have the original fabric and I couldn't find one I liked in their selection.  Then I thought it might be cheaper to reupholster it and have a better chance of finding a fabric that worked.  So I joined Angie's list to see if I could find a "good" upholsterer.  There were several recommended and I had a very positive experience and saved about $1000 over the option of replacing the chair with a new one.
    I went into the shop and was able to spend all the time I wanted looking through the many fabric samples available.  I was even allowed to take the fabric sample home to compare to my other furnishings before committing to it.  Cranston arranged for my chair to be picked up and delivered.  The upholstery work was very good and it was fairly fast - about 3 to 4 weeks total.

  • Stellar!!!!  Rich Austin is a wizard.  Turned our piano into a new one!!!  And, we now have the latest technology for the automatic player system which permits our control of the player piano and background music from an iPad.  System is also capable of wirelessly integrating with the whole-house speaker system.  We couldn't be more pleased!!!!  Desert Piano is absolutely the best!!!!!

  • I bought a huge, heavily carved, expensive antique bed. I hired a mover to ship the bed from where it was located, to my home. The bed was damaged in transit (the movers never bothered to wrap the headboard & footboard). They used a large trailer (instead of a full box truck). and since they didn't wrap it, the crown of the bed was broken and the footboard was deeply scratched. The movers retrieved some broken pieces from the moving trailer and I saved them for the bed repair.
    I called The Village Woodsmith and spoke to Hal Resnikoff. Hal was very professional. He came to the house, took pictures, and gave me an estimate. We agreed that the work would take place at the house.(so that the bed wouldn't be damaged further by moving it again). We made the appointment and he arrived the following week to do the work. Hal was very punctual. He removed the bed crown (and brought it back to his shop to repair it), restained the footboard so the scratches would be less obvious, and built a new support brace for the bed. He returned the following week with the crown repaired and a new bed brace built in the original walnut wood. Hal is very knowledgable about antiques and woodworking.  It was a pleasure doing business with him. I would definitely use him in the future.

  • The move went very well. I left a message for Mr. Culp Friday late afternoon. He returned my call Saturday morning and was able to do a same day move due to weather. He arrived right on time, completed the move, tuned the piano, and reattached the pedals. I was very happy with the friendly, professional service and will definitely be using Culp Piano Service in the future.
