Home Builder reviews in West Fork

    * After construction began on our dream home in August 2018 the contractor became difficult to pin down on details for budget and scheduling. I did not have visibility to either the schedule or budget and when I asked to review details I did not receive them. When I asked for a meeting to sit down and go over the budget and the schedule the contractor would not take the time to do this. * The BuckMountain Contractor was hired to manage the construction of the home but did not manage the project, only focusing on the tasks he would perform. We were left to identify subcontractors for various other tasks and ensure work was scheduled and completed. * In July 2019 we were told by the dry wall contractor that the Buck Mountain contractor had no intention of returning to the site. We had no advance notice of this. In June 2019 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, of which the contractor was aware, and my husband and I had to take on the additional stress of dealing with a bilateral mastectomy and recovery from reconstruction surgery and chemo therapy, as well as taking the house from being half finished to complete. * We called the contractor to ensure he return the money we had already paid him. The contractor kept $920.40 and sent no copy of vouchers to account for the variance. He also kept our intellectual property in spite of requests to return them. * At the beginning the contractor was adamant that we needed no contract and that he was an honorable man of high ethics and integrity and a contract was not needed. We insisted and fortunately have a legal contract as of May 2018. * Among other issues, the contractor used our tools. Many of our tools were left dirty and/or broken. We paid to continually repair his older nail gun. Buckmountain Construction also used our tractor on a regular basis which they broke and we had to repair at our expense. * He antagonized our young dog with a power saw by turning it on and while the blades were moving he would repeatedly jab it in the face of the dog. * We provided access to a cottage on the property, a hookup for a travel trailer, and also offered to rent a cabin close to the site for his convenience. * We reimbursed BuckMountain Construction for Workman’s Comp Insurance as he was concerned about his ability to meet this financial burden. * My husband was told by the contractor that he “did not like an audience” or my husband looking over our house plans and liked to work on his own. * We had a number of important details that had to be corrected and some still not correct such as walls incorrectly placed, off by as much as an inch and not square and/or plumb; floor outlets not placed before concrete was poured; tiling an exterior patio without allowing a slope for drainage (the exterior patio had to be retiled). * We incurred additional expense in coring through a concrete wall for duct work which should have been factored in, redoing a retaining wall to allow appropriate space for the driveway, and retiling the patio. * A wall was removed without my prior knowledge or agreement. * My requests for specific design elements were disregarded and replaced with the contractors preference.

    Burnett Real Estate Team
Cody and his whole team (Burnett Real Estate Team) were very organized, professional and communicated with me on every step. The "Showtime" phone app was super cool and easy to use. They got my house pictures, ad and yard sign up quickly and got my house sold within the week for a full price offer. It really could not have been any easier. Thanks again to the whole team for a wonderful experience.

    Seven Valleys Custom Trim
Good! They worked quickly and were very efficient in their work. They were very patient with me and created the mantle trim exactly the way I envisioned. Very nice, didn’t leave a mess anywhere, and I would recommend their service.

    Weather Proofing Experts LLC
Over the span of several years after our house was built, our home builder tried multiple attempts to fix water leak issues. We were extremely frustrated, stressed, and disappointed in the lack of resolution. So we searched on our own and found Weather Proofing Experts. From there the entire experience was PERFECT!  Brandon was responsive, prompt, thorough, and professional. He and his work crew were extremely courteous and the quality of work to fix the front of our home and chimney issues was best in class.  It has been over 3 years and no leak recurrences, and that gives us incredible peace of mind.  We recommend Brandon and Weather Proofing Experts every time!

    Johnson Brothers Construction Foundation LLC
One thing to note is Johnson Brothers is a small company and thus they give unyielding attention to the client they are currently working with. This can be frustrating to those waiting but when it is your time in the spotlight boy do they shine. Not only did they tear down the deck in the rain, they placed footers in that you can set a house on, and after all of that the built the deck out about a foot past the described labor because it was the right thing to do. The door shocked us the most because this could be the one place the contractor could really take advantage of the customer. Well not the Johnson Brothers, Dean and Danny examined the door and once again went above and beyond to repair the damage, this time for good. Shockingly the work was on budget, on time, and exceeded our expectations. If you want someone honest, local, and refreshingly nice to deal with give them a call, Randy will be happy to bring you into their family of clients! I will use them again for any job that is above me and thanks to his partnerships even those jobs not in their scope. If you do call, again do not be alarmed if you wait a bit for your turn....believe me it is worth it. Thank you all so very much for taking care of us, without us having to watch you like hawks. It is so dang nice to find a contractor that is not just after a quick buck! See you all again soon!

    Porter Construction
Overall the process went well. The design was fantastic! We got to see our new rooms in 3D as if we were already there. The office staff is really helpful, educated, and friendly! We got to tour the model home that was at the same location of their office to see what kind of quality construction that they are capable of. Once they finished the design they were able to print off the big full set of plans for the remodel right there in their office. Then it went to the construction phase. The Deck was first. It was turned into a Sun-room with lots of nice windows, new roof, and doors. Next was the Kitchen. We had the counter tops replaced, new light fixtures, and new back splash installed.  The cabinets were re-finished and it really turned out lovely! The last room to be done was the Bathroom and it took longer than it needed to because some issues arose with the tile in the shower, but it really turned out beautiful in the end. The tub was a corner insert and it was replaced with a claw foot tub surrounded by wainscot. Lastly the interior decorator came in last and put the finishing touches on the interior finishes, furniture, and decorations. She was super knowledgeable and could tell that she had years of experience doing this kind of stuff. It really turned out great! I love my home even more now!  The remodel has certainly increased the value of my home and has made it so much more pretty! Porter Construction does high quality work. They will make sure the customer is happy before they are done, no matter how long it takes them. They seem to be really interested in good customer service and for sure that they do high quality work. I believe if you want something done, and done right that Porter Construction can certainly do that for you. Just the fact that they are able to do all the services under the same roof is huge when it comes to communication between the different services provided, because the transition was seamless. The really good thing about all the services being done by Porter Construction is that when you bundle the services you get a discount, because they offer packages that get cheaper the more services you combine into one project. Everything is custom made and built to suit your needs and wants.

    Janacek Construction Inc
.I have worked with Janacek Construction throughout Northwest Arkansas in a myriad of new home construction and remodeling for over 11 years.  As Executive Director of the NWA Home Builders Association 2001-2007, I had the opportunity to work with Tim and Jonathon Janacek in projects involving very detailed remodeling of homes and construction of new homes and find their work to be of superior quality.  They have stayed committed to continuing education, providing their clients with the highest quality of materials, labor and attention to detail in all the work they perform.  I have talked with their clients who have provided honest evaluation of the cost effective manner in which the work is done - with nothing but praise in all aspects of the relationship. Since 2008, I have been blessed to work with Janacek Construction and their entire team as Executive Director of Rebuilding Together of NWA, a non profit organization providing home rehabilitation services to our low income elderly, disabled, families with children and our veterans - allowing them to stay in their homes.  Tim, Jonathon and their staff have carried their commitment to service by the gift of their hands and their hearts as House Captains and being of assistance to our clients.  They have helped us bring volunteers within our community together to help those in need of assistance with their homes. I strongly recommend Janacek Construction to any client looking for honesty, quality of workmanship, commitment to meeting the needs of their clients as well as having a strong commitment to community.

    Jeff Draper Construction
Draper's bid was below other bids I got AND he did an excellent job from start to finish. He stayed on the job for the building and rebuilding (so he kept an eye on the quality of work). He subbed out the painting and gutter work; but, those subs were very good too. From the get go to the end, Jeff was honest and fair. I will use Jeff for the next renovation project on a different house (stove hood and skylight in the kitchen) and next year a two car garage to match a 110 year old Victorian home.
