  • Initial diagnosis was needed software update. Left overnight to validate this fixed and problem persisted. Had to contact corporate to determine next steps! Determine it is a fuel pump issue. No surprise given I Googled and this was one of two issue and the other was a wiring issue. Pick up Jeep after they have had it for 1.5 weeks and leave for vacation next day. Miles away the issue starts happening again. Call dealership and told the fuel pump they installed which was certified was probably bad! I can't take it back in and can't take to local dealership in vacation site so I start it every few hours as I know once it is cold it is hard to start. Return to dealership upon return and still told it is likely bad fuel pump. Get update on Wednesday that it is wiring issue and parts on order and should be in on Friday. I call on Friday and told that part was in but other parts not and will be late next week before ready. I've been without Jeep for 3 weeks total and the fact I had to call them to get an update is not acceptable. After a lively discussion I"m now driving a rental. Sad I had to get to this point to even get a rental AND I would be much more satisfied if I had my Jeep back. I've been driving the rental over a week and still no phone call. Obviously customer service is not a strong point. It appears they have fixed that issue but it took them an additional 3 weeks to fix a transmission fluid leak and two more visits as they did not get it right the first time AGAIN. Great place to purchase a vehicle but I would NEVER recommend them for service. To recap 9 total weeks and 7 of those weeks my Jeep was at the dealership.

  • They worked to describe the options available as well as how that related to costs. Consultative is every sense. They also service all 5 of our vehicles and have for years. Customer service is outstanding and couple that with prices that are on par with everyone else and you have a winner!

  • I was recently in the market for a new truck and had been looking at new Chevrolet Trucks. After several weeks of research I decided to go with Gwatney. Called them on the phone to make sure the truck online was still available. The salesman told me it was and what the price would be. I then drove 30 minutes to the dealership and had to wait for 20 minutes for the salesman. After deciding that I wanted the truck and agreeing on a sales price and interest rate ( which they told me was prime for my score ) I had to run to the bank to have cashiers check made. I then went back to Gwatney and had to wait again for the paperwork. So I did all the paperwork and he gave me the contract last. I looked over the contract and found that the agreed price was now $3000 higher. When I asked what the difference was, they told me its because I was getting such a good rate, I had lost a couple of rebates. They tried to tell me "but your payment is still the same" That's because they had adjust the term of the loan. By the way, the great rate that I was getting was 7.9%. So I told them to shred the paperwork grabbed my check and went to Crain on Col. Glen. I got a lot better truck and they were able to get me 0% interest. Overall I was extremely disappointed in Gwatney and would warn anyone buying a car there to check their paperwork and make sure everything is the same.

  • J & R Automotive Specialists charged me a little more than I expected but I understood because that's not something they normally do. The man came when he said he was going to and he seemed very knowledgeable and I definitely would use them again if I needed to. It did not take him any time at all to change the battery.

  • My daughter recently purchased a used vehicle from him. There were some issues with the tires that he took care of.  If Bruce isn't there, I'm not buying.  I have been using  him since 1995.  He is very good at explaining everything.  He's not your typical auto sale person. He's exceptional!  He keeps a file on his customers, and sends out newsletters.  He has made a real career selling Toyota products.  Once, he took a ton of time showing me everything from top to bottom on a car.  I didn't buy it then, but I came back 1 year later and bought the vehicle.  I have followed him from dealer to dealer.  Needless to say, I will continue to use him when ever I need a new car.
