Moving Made Easy is a local Southwest Ohio company that provides the labor to make your self-move doable. They are a preferred assisted mover for U-Haul and can be found using the U-Haul service on the internet. But, you can deal with them directly (as I did) by calling the Owner. Currently, their rates are $25/hr per person. The best I could find anywhere. At this rate, I allowed them the time to pack my belongings RIGHT. I moved 1200 miles and needed extra packing and padding (don't skimp - I've moved 9 times and a good move is all about the packing and loading. I would use again and do recommend.

There were two very nice, professional movers. They were fast, efficient and very helpful. Everything arrived in excellent shape, no  scratches or dents. I definitely would use them again and highly recommend them.

I cannot say enough good things about this staff. From the beginning of them introducing themselves these guys were so courteous. They were more careful with our items than we probably were ourselves. They moved us only about twelve miles, but they secured everything in the same fashion as if it were a hundred miles. I would not hesitate to use them again and have recommended them to several people.

I initially contacted College Hunks via their national number. They arranged an appointment with Nolan. Nolan came to the house and looked over everything we wanted to move. He gave an initial time estimate and as well as his hourly rates. We agreed on a start time.
The morning of moving day, Nolan called and verified we were ready. Two movers showed came with a 22 ft truck. We spent about minutes going over paper work, then they got started.
They work very fast and efficient, while still being careful. They did not damage anything and finished in halt the time we thought it would take.
I would not hesitate to hire them again.

It didn't go well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Our instructions for packing were ignored.  Many items damaged, some badly.  6ft long 1860's roll top desk turned on side rather than packed flat as instructed. It comes apart into 3 pieces; all were scratched and gouged.  Washer dented badly near the on button and it doesn't function now.  I have to unplug and replug it to turn it on..Washer hose threaded end bent so we had to replace it.  Neither washer nor dryer hooked up.  Antique sewing machine cabinet scratched, two antique dressers scratched and one gouged.  Refrigerator dented and scratched down to the metal.  They refused to take our generator as promised, didn't tell us we needed to empty it of gas, yet we were charged the same as if they had moved it.  3 gouges in one bookcase, scratches on 2 antique ones, small piece of veneer missing on one.  Scrapes on butcher block.  Scrapes on chifferobe. Dented 5 drawer file cabinet so badly that we cannot open 3rd drawer.  Scratches on cedar chest.  Scrapes on Eathan Allen dining table and chair legs/  Scuffs on 2 Jenny Lind antique beds.  Large dent in leather on back of easy chair, leaving 5" long white mark.  Scrape on edge of washer down to metal.  Movers admitted they lost the clamp that holds our queen sized bed together under box springs; they didn't try to replace it but wired it together with a coat hanger, replaced box springs and mattress.  We assumed they had found the clamp but when we went to bed, it fell apart. Obviously items were not padded.  Truck was jammed to the top and to the back end.
We called and Jeff Byers, the owner agreed to refund $100 for desk and sewing machine.  When we discovered all the rest of damage, he came to house, refused to take responsibility for anything else, yelled at my husband and threatened to take us to court for slander.

Polite, pleasure to do business with. After being yelled at and worked like a horse by the first company (Fixed Rate Movers) it was apparent I should have used them in the first place. Hard workers, fast, polite. No yelling or threats. A pleasure after what I'd endured.

When I spoke to the owner/boss on the phone, I was scheduled for Thursday. They called and asked if I'd like to wait until Friday. (It could have been Friday to Sat. But the next day) I said I didn't need to wait. They said is be doing a huge favor if I waited because of rain predicted. I agreed to the next day to help out. I'm on disability after teaching 23 years,so I know how important scheduling is. This was not a problem for me. I'm flexible. I told them I was not taking everything. I told them what I was taking. They came on time. They could not back into my driveway Due to a big branch. I asked my neighbor who has a paved driveway inches from mine if we could use his. He said we could. The driver chose to park on the street, in front of my neighbors lot (bought from my mom) They chose to carry everything uphill to the street. I'd planned to give unwanted furniture to charity, but they could not come in my house. I also have a disability where I never know if I can walk or even sit up until I wake up. I had a fall on the ice and was stuck in bed for 3 weeks. I begged friends and family to help pack. Nada. My cousin called the LDS church where he had been a member and they came in like an army- had me packed in two days. Thank you LDS saints! At the first walk through, I was told it would just be $1000. Even cheaper! As they tired carrying things uphill for hours they tired. Driver got grumpy, snappy, even abusive. They tried to not move my refrigerator because there was no shut off vale. I turned off the water to the house. They had to move it. Not happy movers. I had to empty the fridge. Last time the movers moved it with contents inside. There was a beer and small champaign from New Years. I slept through it. I offered them the beer and champaign to drink after work. The non- driver asked to use my bathroom a d drank the beer.i found the still cold bottle in the trash. I also found boxes packed to move in the front bedroom, and one in front bath. He drank on the job, though I offered water, juice, and coffee. Besides the boxes hidden (2) my big screen TV was left. I called the driver was in Conway and was not going to turn around. He said he would call the boss. I was ok with that until I got a call where the "boss" SCREAMED at me saying they were losing money on this move already! He said he'd turn the truck around but would charge me a LOT! In the end I was begging him not to turn the truck around. I asked for a guy or two to just carry the TV to my SUV. NO!!' I actually asked him to take a deep breath. He was screaming at me! He said I was being irrational, that I was not ready for the move. The things I was moving were all boxed up. I'd emptied the drawers in my dresser- I was told that was not necessary. There were some things on the dresser I put on a box in minutes. That is where I wasn't ready. I thought while they moved my washer/dryer/fridge I'd put the stuff on the dresser in a box. Nope. They had me hopping. He needed a screwdriver, pliers, something constantly. I was in so much pain. I'm sure they were too. As they were leaving (I didn't do a walk through- (don't make this mistake) I signed the papers, tipped each mover $100! Boy, that was stupid. That was before finding drinking on the job, boxes hidden, TV left, and when I got to new home, a huge dent in my side by side fridge. I told the owner I would reflect my experience with them on here. He threatened me. Never stopped yelling at me, saying it was all my fault. I cost them money I was in tears. I did the best I could being disabled. My mom was at new house. I'd marked every box with an up arrow, and what room it went in. They were all put in the garage. Most upside down.some things chipped, dented, broken. Very unhappy. Especially the part about being yelled at like a little kid over a 3 1/2 hour drive. I had to gut a U-Haul and hire men to load it. They were so nice. Wish I'd used them in the first place. I know the owner is going to call me a crazy liar, but I found out too late that is how they are, until they have your things hostage. I was shocked- all reviews were so good. That's because they can have bad reviews removed for $450!

The first contact was when they sent out an employee to do a complete walk through of our house and provide us with an exact quote.  This is an amazing option because it gets rid of all guess work or estimating on the cost.  They got us the quote within 1 business day and made sure to keep contact on the official move date and time to ensure that it did not need to be changed.  The price that was quoted is exactly what was charged.
The moving day.  Two guys showed up on time and ready to work.  We have used other movers in the past and that was a struggle for them.  My husband offered to help and they told him to have a seat and that they had it handled.  They moved all of the boxes we had packed, disassembled our furniture and loaded it on the truck.  Took about 2 and a half hours to do a 1200 sq ft house, storage in the attic and underneath the house.  When they arrived to the new house they unloaded the truck and reassembled all furniture.  They made sure to ask where we wanted everything to go.  Including where we wanted the beds, couch and other big items.  Both guys were super nice and made the experience very pleasant.  They came to do a job and definitely went above and beyond that.  I would use them again and again.

The movers showed up about an hour late. They did not have a sense of urgency once they arrived either. They dropped a night stand down the stairs and it busted it beyond repair. Per the movers they said to fill out a form and the piece could be disposed of. Several hours later they finished and arrived at the new residence. My husband and his friend had to help the movers unload the truck because they were taking so long. The following day when we called to file the claim on the broken night stand we were told that they would do nothing because we threw it away. They wanted the pieces to attempt repair first. Since we threw it away based on the instruction of their employee we could not provide it to them. So we were out a night stand and no compensation for damages.

Chet, Larry, and Austin  were amazing! They were the most professional and courteous movers I have ever interacted with, and I have done at least a half-dozen moves in the past 7 years. However, the moving estimate was incredibly off. Bethany (the estimator) estimated our move (on the high end) would take 12 hours and cost $1,700. It actually took 21 hours and cost $2,600. In addition, Matthew (the manager) and Greg (the owner) were very rude when addressing my husband and I; constantly interrupting us, not allowing us to speak more than two words at a time. Furthermore, they told us the under estimate was our fault and implied that we were dishonest in our reporting of goods. They claim we failed to report 92 items (which amounts to about half of the number of items moved), even though I feel I reported all my goods to the best of my knowledge. I may have missed a handful of items, but after having gone through two military moves in the past year, I have a comprehensive inventory list and understand how move estimates work.  I informed Bethany I had moved from a 2,000 sq ft home and my husband had moved from a 1,500 sq ft home and it was ALL in the apartment in addition to a 12 X 12 storage unit "filled to the brim." I had even suggested the company send an individual to visually inspect the premises to calculate an estimate. They did not send an individual to perform an estimate, insisting that they had padded the estimate and not to worry. After spending several hours on the phone with Matthew and Greg, Greg finally agreed to refund us $714, which was the overage in hours and what Matthew had originally offered us when we first reported our complaint. However, Greg refused to apologize for  he and his managerial staff's handling of a customer complaint. In addition, Greg went so far as to insinuate that he would have physically harmed me, had the conversation been in person.  He did so by telling my husband that he will "punch anyone in the mouth who raises their voice at me, even if it is President Obama."  I have never been treated so poorly for a service I was paying for. I will never use this company again.
