  • Absolutely first class. We had an emergency electrical problem and call Reed Electric who arrived within the hour. He was very professional, clean, efficient and knowledgeable. After he identified the problem, stayed with us to explain to the utility company (neutral line coming into the house) was at fault. Highly recommended and we will certainly have any electrical problem dealt with by Reed Electric.

  • I called several big name companies, none of which i was impressed with. Each one gave me a generic estimate over the phone. With Jay's, a Representative came out (at a time that fit my schedule), and we discussed several options. He measured my house, each room, evaluated the windows, insulation, pretty much every aspect of the house related to the heating and cooling. A couple of days later, he calls asked to come back out to discuss my needs and recommendations. Again, very informative, and answered each of my questions with knowledge and documentation. After some discussion, Paul, our salesman, walked us through some financing options for the system we chose. I never felt any sales pressure through the whole process. Install time came, and the first morning, my house was swarming with Jay's workers. Each one performing their job with confidence and knowledge. The old duct was stripped out within hours, and the old unit was out just as quick. Measurements were taken for the duct work, and the duct crew headed back to the shop to begin the custom construction of the duct work. The install crew stayed behind and started the install of the new furnace and AC units. I'm the type of guy that likes to learn from others, and the crew was very gracious in allowing me to ask questions and demonstrate things to me as they worked. I never got the feeling that they were bothered by my questions. Entire install took 1 week. Duct work took the longest. When the duct crew came back with all the new parts, they got right into the install. Each time they made access into the house to work, they immediately cleaned up where they had worked. At the end of each work day, they cleaned all they area's they had worked, organized the material they were leaving on site and

  • Our heat went out on Christmas. I called Jones Engineering the next business day and they had a tech to our house by 11am (he was early). They tested and double test everything to make sure they had the correct part. By the time they located the part is was after 4pm, but they came back anyway and got our furnace repaired. The tech was there until 7pm and they did not charge us for after hour service rates!

  • This is my reply to this company's response,...
    First of all, the response from the contractor ARE NOT FACTS but Lies. The Whole emails trying to get ahold of us to do the work, we also have all those emails and the dates we gave him and how emails shows the time delays in responses from Dan. As far as The Quality Control Checklist goes, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Chapman Service was the professional not me, however according to his response and his silly Quality Control Checklist goes I guess (we the customers) need to be MASTER HVAC And Electrical tradesmen to have this company work or install anything! (At the end of the day it the contractors job to due there due diligence and what was contracted but I guess every elderly and mobility impaired people too should climb up in the attic to inspect his Checklist and make sure that's what they contracted and did install.) We are not either but that what he's saying about his checklist. We also have a letter confirming To Whom it may concern Chapman Service inc DIDNOT pull a permit during installation but he DID 7 MONTHS later! I have documentation that proves other wise about (The MINOR) electrical that Champan installed and failed (His WORK FAILED after being inspected) not the existing wiring. However the existing wiring he speaks of I still have the original email from Chapman stating that wire needs to be replace before the system can be installed due to it not being the right size wire for the unit, right there he's tell you he DID NOT replace what he CHARGED me for! Yes he pulled a permit on The Electrical panel he installed not the additional electrical work he preformed on our house. I have a email of the list from the State inspector of his work beening FAILED not just what he's describing the existing electrical wire in the Disconnect, but his work was not I also have an email telling Dan I want documentation of the violations for the inspection and pictures and see he never addressed my request, however Dan states in a further email they have giving documentation and pictures to State Electrical inspector and City inspector. Feel free to contact both inspectors and look at what Dan is telling you did not fail. And the leak on my floor I also have pictures of it leaking originally on 9-25 and pictures of the second leak on 9-26 is why he had to come back out on Sunday again because of it leaking but as he's saying temporary repair also my pictures shows the leak again on his work. The existing NOT PVC but black role pipe (In The Slab) was not leaking it was his work. The whole floor beening repaired issue, I even tried to help this contractor find the floor to do repair from the original installer, everyone even the ones he had came out with told him the floor could not be repaired due to availability of the floor TO MATCH. Dan choose not to except that and told me it was not realistic. He then turned it over to his insurance company because every Contractor called said the exact thing about floor being repaired. On 9-25 I verbally told Dan about the buckled floor DAN himself told me to call my homeowners insurance I replied I'm not paying my deductible for something you installed that ruined my floor. Also in my emails to Dan I told him from this point forward everything needs to be emailed since his word doesn't mean anything, Feal free to contact me for those emails from day 1 of indication of contact through email to the last day of his finale inspection. Which it took him several more then twice for them to come inspect everything and FINALLY pass it. He obviously does not know his trade if he calls in for reinspector and it takes 3 more reinspections to pass what was on the list from the very first violation report. As far as heat not working I know the truth heat ran for over 20 minutes but never heated the home, SO, why would the HVAC inspector tell him to (Check it out if It DID in fact work?) also have a letter showing this. This Contractor is a pathological lier but I guess when you take advantage of people the ways all the negative reviews show about this Contractor They have to Lie to sleep at night. All my words are FACTS and are in all my emails to and from Dan. Please feel free to send me a email and I'll send you all emails and letters from inspectors showing Dan is lying about his above statements. And look how Dan is talking about US THE CUSTOMER. Is that someone you want to work for you?!?! That does not appreciate the customer?!?? They say people like this will always get what they deserve in the end.

  • As soon as possible the company began selling another inspection because heating isn't easy to do in August. Day of service I was called and told the tech assigned was out but they could fit me in. Why? Just send someone. Tech sold a starter capacitor citing the old one was failing. He stated everything else was okay. FAST FORWARD TO NOVEMBER? Furnace doesn't work. Thermostat indicates heat is on but nothing is happening. I pull access plates and look for something obvious. I find one thermostat wire, the white one, slightly pulled from the terminal strip. The screw is tight without a wire underneath. Touch wire to terminal and heat begins. I cannot prove it, but feel I was set up for another service call. I used Jay's 8 years ago and was pleased. This isn't the same business quality i knew, only the name remained.

  • Mr. Sparky was very punctual, professional and gave an accurate estimate of the project.  The price was high, but in hind-sight it is probably better to go with them on large electrical projects rather than using someone like Todd W. who is not reliable and walked-off on the job as a local area electrician after taking $600.00
    I will most likely use Mr. Sparky to finish the job and take Todd to court - at least I know they will finish the job!  I estimate a competitive electrician may do the job for approx $1K-$1400 and be below Mr. Sparky but not walk-off after having the check handed to him for services incomplete.
    Anything major, get Mr. Sparky.  If you're just doing a small wiring job then find an electrician with insurance, don't pay til end of job.  Hard lessons learned.

  • Doug did an outstanding job determining the source of the power outage.  He restored the power to each of the outlets and was very courteous and professional.  I will be calling in the future to have more work done.

  • This is the only contractor I have used that vacuumed my floor before he left. He does outstanding work for me. I trust him to be in my home when I am not there. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Sometimes, he brings his son to assist him with the work. He has done work for people I know and they have been very pleased as well. He is very nice, does great work, and very professional.
