It cost a lot more than I wanted it to. They do a really great job. They built custom cabinets, which is one of their forte’s that they are really good at. We went to the stone place and picked out the granite countertops we wanted and the sinks and everything. They just really do a custom job. They’re awesome.

Job was begun 7-13-15. The contractor was Household Solutions,755 Bryant Road, Hot Springs, AR 501-617-2050  The contractor's employees provided the carpentry work.  They tore out tile and sheetrock in two bathrooms and redid the walls with beadboard. They also refaced the kitchen cabinets with beadboard. They hauled off debris  The carpenters got the job done but seemed to be more construction carpenters rather than finish carpenters.

The painting was done by a Subcontrator, Service Painting, 501-802-0179 and included the ceilings, walls and trim (including the doors).  The painting was excellent and I would use this company again.

The work was completed within the specified contractual time frame and the men worked everyday once the job started.  All the workmen were helpful when asked to do or correct something.  However, I would suggest that if you use this company, you need to monitor the work as it is done.  We had a list of things we wanted done and some of the items were forgotten and they had to come back in and do them. Fortunately, the men were still here when everything was caught.  Also, protect your furniture.  The painter again, was excellent in covering both furniture and flooring but the carpenters used the furniture as benches (with no covering). And lastly, the Contractor needs more hands on interface with his crews. He knew things that did not get relayed to his employees.  In fact, when the job was finished, he sent an employee to pick up the final payment, and didn't check the final job results and  proper cleanup  himself.

Update- We had to put in more than a dozen screws he left out when rehanging the cabinet doors. And he did not replace all of the molding.

Jim and his team of helpers--Allen in particular--recreated my kitchen, living, dining, and laundry areas.  Their first project was installing two high line toilets in the bath areas.  With Jim's guidance, the decision was made to take down the two kitchen cabinets and wall that blocked the view to the living, dining and deck areas.  Jim suggested the door from the dining area to the guest room be closed in so we could move the refrigerator to that area and build storage cabinets in the previous refrigerator space.  It was decided that an appliance garage would be built about the counter to hide the coffee pot, toaster, can opener and two large drawers would be built below the counter to hold dinner plates, cups, saucers, bowls and other kitchen items.  Instead of losing cabinet space, we added several square feet of beautiful new cabinets as well as a total of four drawers!  Pull out drawers were installed in each of the cabinet areas as well as under the sink making it very easy to access the trash can and cleaning products under the sink.

Jim and Allen worked diligently to frame out the kitchen bar so that the area would be level for the granite installation.  Electrical work was relocated so lights, electrical outlets and garbage disposal elements were included in the granite design. With the addition of the white Taj Mahal granite, this area is now a key focal point of the room and a beautiful design element.

Since wall space was limited in the living area, the coat closet opening was covered and the opening moved to the laundry room, thus providing much needed space for decorative accessories. Jim's experience in remodeling townhomes lead him to suggest that a vent be installed over the stove and place the microwave in the newly built cabinet.

Ceiling fans were wired in to the living room and master bedroom.  Fluorescent ceiling lighting was re-routed.  A rolling storage cart was created with the two cabinets that were removed from the kitchen and the property is ready for renters to enjoy the beauty both indoors and outdoors at this Segovia Lake property.  Jim will be returning to do a covering for the deck once this homeowner has saved up some more money.  Jim is a true professional who is honest, works hard, and gets the job done in a timely fashion with reasonable pricing.  My mother and I contracted with him in 2012 in her $25,000 remodeling job.  He has exceeded our expectations in both projects.  He has a keen grasp of costs of materials and labor and he willingly shares his knowledge with his customers.

It went well.   I was unsure of the tile and had not chosen it before arriving in town (this was a vacation townhouse).  This put Justin at a disadvantage timewise, as I had asked him to please finish before I had to go back home.  But all of his workers were courteous and very good at their jobs.  His tile expert, George took the accent pebbles off of the 4 inch netting and placed them individually, stepping back and checking his work...being very detailed and perfect.  He did an excellent job, as did all of Justin's subs.  Justin was very polite and responsive and even responded to me on the weekend while he was on the lake.
I appreciated everything they did and their cleanup afterward.  Justin was very conscious of trying to get the job done when I asked, even though I was the one who delayed the process with my tile decision.  In the end, it was finished a day later, which worked out fine.
    Great Job!!!  Thanks so much!!!

    Freewalt Builders Inc
His work crew of two guys were excellent.  Between them they could do any job.  They are both perfectionists as well as Art is.  He wants to satisfy you as a customer, and he did.  Within eight days, he had our bathroom finished, cleaned up, ceiling popcorn removed, and a drop down finish done on the walls.  We had the idea that we should now remove the wallpaper from the bedroom walls and add wall board.  Art said, "let the guys put on the drop-down finish for you.  It will be more budget efficient than putting up new wall board and a lot less messy."  One of the subcontractors he hired poured a shower floor out of marble.  This was Art's idea.  It looks and feels so amazing.  Art always listened to us.  He gave us great advice.  He is an honest man

    My wife and I were very impressed with Freewalt for a number of reasons;
    - This contractor is genuinely honest and very sincere about doing an excellent job.  We were impressed by his professionalism, promptness in having various crafts appear and do their work e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.  The quality of the work was first rate and the job was billed on a cost plus 15% basis.  When I asked for extras not in the original estimate, it was not an issue and we were billed fairly for that work.   When a subcontractor performed for less than estimate, that was documented and passed through as savings.

     - Freewalt has shown that they can handle any job and before the quote, they thoroughly discuss requirements with appropriate crafts to ensure the homeower knows exactly what they are getting into and what the cost will be.   I found their thoroughness to be a refreshing departure from some contractors who quickly estimate and have no answer for price changes.
    - Freewalt guarantees their work and will not hesitate to correct anything that is not to the customers liking.
    - Freewalt has an excellent word of mouth reputation in the Village and they lived up to it.

Fran and Michael Lanari came to our home to assess bathroom and take measurements.  Discussed options and style design at that time.  Once they had all their figures/ideas in place we went to their business to discuss details.  Fran had selected combinations of tile, stone, glasswork, colors.  We selected the plumbing fixtures, vanity, etc at this time.  They were extremely knowledgeable with the design aspect and had a good idea of the style we were looking for.  The workers (Samson Birch and his crew) were very professional and knowledgeable in what they were doing.  Samson gave us suggestions on placement of several items with explanation of why it would be better one way versus the other way.  Workers came ready to work. The bathroom was gutted, tile shower with stone flooring and a "waterfall" design with glass tiles were installed after prep work, shower bar and corner shelves were installed. Shower fixtures, vanity fixtures, automatic fan installed.  New high vanity installed, framed mirror, toilet, shower doors, tile flooring, above toilet cabinet.  The bathroom looks bigger and I have plenty of storage.  We were extremely satisfied and would definitely use them again.

Exceptional performance.  Art Freewalt is truly committed to customer satisfaction and performance.
The workers (particularly Gerrard and Jason) were always professional, courteous, and highly
skilled.  The work was done on time and at the original estimated budget.  I have done a number
of remodels in the lifetime and this was the best experience I have ever had.  Both my wife and
I are extremely happy with the quality of the workmanship and the overall project.
If you want high quality, timely, and professional work, you should use Freewalt Construction.
Art and his company have my highest recommendation.
