Everyone was super nice. Talked to me and informed me of my options. Walked me thru the whole process and scheduled an MRI to be done.

Over all it was a good visit. We waited for about 20 minutes and the waiting room was full. They took me right back and the doctor on call looked me over and told the nurse to clean it out first so he could tell if there was any more damage that he coudl't see. She did clean it out and was very good at getting it all out. The doctor came back in and told us what we needed to do and how he was going to do this. After about 10 minutes of working on my hand he was done. Check out was great and fast and all in all was a good visit.

I always do my research on-line and noted that there were some negative reviews of this provider. However due to illness I felt the need to see someone quickly. I was surprised that the experience was overall pleasant with no issues. The wait was a bit long, but I expected this for a walk-in. Much less time than any emergency room I've been to. The nursing staff was extremely nice and helpful. The doctor came in very quickly after I was in a patient room, listened to my symptoms, asked questions on my history, explained what I could expect, and prescribed medicine. They called this in for me vs giving me a script. The only negative I could see is that they share the office with another medical service provider. I saw several women with children going to that office. It would definitely be beneficial to somehow segregate contagious illness from babies visiting the other doctors for well baby checks or whatever. Overall I found the experience positive and would re-use their service when needed.

It was an okay visit.  Urgent care is always going to be busy and there will always be a wait, and sure enough there was - a little over an hour, which isn't terrible on a weekday morning. I went in because I had been hit by a truck two weeks prior in Joplin, and we had just moved to the Branson area, so I had no local doctor yet.  I explained the accident to the physician as best I could. As I had also sustained a head injury, my memory was shot, so the doctor checked over my hand and sent me for a few X-rays. I had already had over 25  Xrays in Joplin, but at the time, they were looking for broken big bones and concentrating on my head and neck - my thumb had not become an issue until later, when it still wouldn't move.  After my X-rays, the urgent care physician felt that I probably had jammed both knuckles in my thumb, as he did not see a fracture. His bedside manner was great, and my nurse had been through a similar (worse!) accident, so she was very kind and sympathetic to my memory loss and inability to articulate my pain.  The doctor was very gentle with his manipulation of my hand. He kindly explained to me and my spouse that a badly jammed thumb like mine can take up to a year to fully heal, and there's not a lot to be done about it except to immobilize the joints for several weeks to allow for healing. I was sent with a prescription to the medical supply down the hall, where I was fitted with an immobilizing brace. I also got out of doing laundry for a couple of months, so that was a nice little bonus ;)  A few weeks later, I was able to move to a smaller, less restrictive brace, and within about three months I regained full range of motion in my hand, for which I credit my urgent care physician. I don't recommend using Urgent Care in place of your primary doctor - but if you have to go, or if you become ill while traveling to Branson, you'll get good care at Skaggs.
