  • I was very impressed. They helped me with ideas and gave me honest opinions and advice. They came in and did work quickly and the crew was always in good spirits. We were living in the house through the remodel and they took great care to make it as easy on us as possible. (we also have dogs and cats and they were very understanding about keeping an eye out for the animals and not letting them out.) Every step of the way, John made sure we knew when they would be out and what the next step in the project would be as well as letting us know when weather delayed them. I have never been so happy with a crew like his! I would recomend them and will use them again when we do another part of the house.

  • They gave me a good price quote, with great explaination of what was going to be done. They came out when they said they were coming out and called when the weather kept them away for more than two days. John was dedicated to making sure we were aware of each step of the project. He listened to my concerns and took them seriously, and setting my mind at ease on each concern. He gave good advice when I didn't know for sure what it was I wanted.

The crews he brought in were very good at their jobs, and dedicated to doing a very professional job. Most of the crews that came in made a great effort at keeping the dust and debris contained in the kitchen area with plastic sheeting and clean up at the end of the day. I was also impressed with how happy the crew was and how well they worked with each other.
I felt the job went faster than I had expected. In years past we hired work in California and it seemed to take forever for them to get out and get to work. These guys were here at 8 every morning and didn't leave until at least 4:30 and sometimes much later so they could finish a perticular part. Wonderful.

  • The sales and design person (Jason Winchester) was knowlegable and talked us out of repairs that other contractors had said were necessary. For example, support posts for the upper deck are warped, but he said that replacements would warp in 6 months because of the quality of wood that is available for this type of construction.
We contracted with him to do repairs to correct a safety problem with the deck support posts so the deck will probably last another 10 years. Two other contractors had looked at the problem, but neither followed up with specifics for the repairs and costs, so the only cost-estimate was from Janacek. The Janacek workers were professional and the the job went smoothly. When the deck needs to be replaced, we will contact Janacek for an estimate.

  • It went terrible. When we would complain the contractor(Aaron) would just stand there and stare into the air and not answer us.
He kept telling us he would sand, stain and clear coat our cabinets and make them look new. In the end all he did was to bring in a can of gel stain and put on them. He did not smooth or sand or even wipe the dirt and grease off that had collected over the years. He put new paneling around the cabinets and behind the stove and microwave and when he got through the cabinet was so rough that my dish cloth got stuck in it when I tried to wipe a spot on it. He said the cabinets would be walnut and when we checked the can of stain it was hickory color.  My cabinets looked like an old barn. They had holes in them, nails sticking out, end of cabinet was left without covering it the crown molding had a splice in it in the front of the cabinet and I told them to fill that splice and restain it they did but you could see the guys finger prints in it. THere was another splice by the front door also. There was a nail sticking out of the crown molding. They had stained the hinges on the cabinet. When they put the new spindles on the top cabinet they had them one inch higher on one end.   They never sanded at all and when we asked, Aaron said they would be sanded and stained. When finished our cabinets had streaks all in them. They had brush hairs from the paint brush and the doors did not have any stain on the bottom of them. No holes where filled or rough spots gotten out. Do not use this company. As far as I am concerned we have been cheated and this is fraud because he kept telling us he would sand and stain and clear coat. When I called the parent company I spoke to the SVP and he told me they do not ever sand...  Also I have learned this guys father has taken over the franchise so Stay away from them because you know the same guy is going to be operating under his dad's name and he is a crook. We went to small claims court and was awarded a judgement against him.
