"Seemed very honest - told me I did not need a new roof, but some specific repairs. He was to provide a follow up quote for additional work but I never received it.

"They repaired trim and installed aluminum wrap on entire house, all in just one day. They did a great job, and the price was very fair. I will be calling them for future renovations and repairs.

How Much Does Siding Cost to Replace?

Vinyl, aluminum, wood and fiber cement siding all have their advantages and vary in price.

Siding

Unless they are made of brick or stone, most homes are protected by some form of exterior siding. Traditionally made of wood, siding now comes in several materials including aluminum and vinyl. Each has its strengths and weaknesses to consider.

One of the first questions I receive from homeowners looking to install siding on their homes is, “What is the best siding product?” The answer depends.

Returning home from the store with food for your big weekend cookout, you notice the siding on your house dangling loose from the recent thunderstorm.

Call and ask your contractors these questions.  Don't be afraid to ask questions.  It is your money and home.  I would ask for references and take a look at samples of their work (especially the low bidder).  Make sure all are licensed and carry the required insurance.  You don't want to get a bad stucco job, so do your homework first before selecting a contractor; which may not be one of these.  Check with your local building department and local building exchange for more references on these and other contractors.  Good luck.

Alside is the far superior siding. Another option with the Alside is the Center Lock panel. It locks in the center of the panel, eliminating wind blow-offs,has a 3/4 inch profile, and carries the same warranty as the Charter Oak

Both choices have plusses and minuses.

I am partial to vinyl siding myself if it is put on by a contractor that pays attention to details in sealing against water intrusion. The better grades of vinyl stand up to the weater very well. The siding on my own home is over 15 years old and shows no signs of fading or any changes due to sun exposure and have had no problems with water entry around windows or doors. It does not dent like the old aluminum siding did or break if hit by a ball or a rock thrown by a lawnmower. As long as you save a few extra panels even if a rock was to be broken by something like a rock it is easier to repair. I will add that the earlier vinyl sidings did tend to fade but I have seen homes I sided after putting additions on that were done 20+ years ago and they look fine. Those closer to the 30 year mark not as good on the fading though. I gennerally never use the cheaper panels though so I can not vouch for them but I think that as long as it is one of the better manufaturers it seems to be just panel thickness. Just a personal opinion but if you are looking for added insulation I would use one of the 4X8 or 2X8 panels rather than the insulated siding. I can not see how insulation on the back of each panel with all the joints can do much more than stiffen the panels and I would think it would hamper the movement of the panels with changes in temperature.

As for Hardi or any of the other fibre cement sidings it is way more costly and relys on caulk or tar paper strips between the panels to seal out water. It is not very forgiving on install mistakes and must be done perfectly to get the full Hardi warranty. I was just involved with a job where the contractor did not put a few pieces of flashing in properly and his guys lapped a corner board incorrectly and the Hardi lifetime warranty was void. Another thing I did not like is that it is put in with a blind nailing method and even though this house was done to specs in this area of the install the bottom of the siding was not tight to the lower courses in many spots. They did install it to the maximum exposure and I believe if they had gone to a larger panel or even lessened the exposure by 1/2" it probably would have been fine. The other thing I saw was the paint seems to be prone to scratching durring install and to me the house looked like it needed a paint job even though siding was new. I do think that if painted after install a paint job would last many years as the product is very stable and does not expand and contract much. The one big plus I see is it tend to HELP in and area prone to fires such as some ares out West.  I put the word help in capitals because it will not fireproof the home but may stop ignition from sparks and moderate heat exposure.

"Normal" construction practice dictates that the contractor remove all tools, unused materials (that you did not pay for) and scrap, and leave the worksite in a "broom clean" condition - this would include disposing (as he wishes) of removed saleable scrap - be it siding, old HVAC equipment, metal piping, etc.

Generally, unless you are talking copper sheet roofing or decorative copper ceiling panels or such, or in some cases very old in-demand recyclable timber or full-thickness hardwood flooring, the value of the metals will only marginally pay for his labor to load it and haul it to the metal recycler - especially with painted materials, which typically go for about half or less the going "clean metal" rate.

Look at the other side - how much hassle and cost will it take YOU to cut or bend the sheets into transportable lengths (since probably 10-12 foot pieces for full lengths) and haul them to a metal recycler - who may only be open during your normal work hours so you have to take time off, and maybe borrow or rent a pickup or trailer to haul it too ? All for a couple hundred $ in scrap value. Also - in some areas - scrap dealears are now limited by law to accepting construction scrap only from licensed contractors, because of the increased problem with people stripping houses and stealing from construction sites, so you as an individual might not even be able to sell it.

In the end, I met with
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he was very friendly, accommodating, and gave what I thought was a fair price. I didn't feel like
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was there to sell me something I didn't need or send me in a direction I didn't want to go. He was knowledgeable and gave me a few things to think about that I hadn't considered that would have
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
to a much better result. I ultimately decided to have our house repainted instead of having the siding replaced.
The only trip-ups were in communication. I had an appointment that came and went without communication (I left 3 or 4 voicemails that night as I waited and got no callback) so I blew an evening waiting around for nothing. When I called back the next day again to let them know of the missed appointment and reschedule, the scheduling person didn't get my message until the next day so I missed another day there. After some more talking, I accepted that it was an honest mistake. That said, I would seriously consider Capital for future work based on experience, quality, and price.

I contacted
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
for a quote to replace a back door due to rain water intrusion. Owner
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived on time and inspected the problem with a diagnoses that we did not require the door to be replaced but instead caulking around the door. He contacted his lead man to come out to do the work with full instruction to what required to be done. The repair was completed within an hour of the call. This easily could have been a case where a service provider could have replaced a door and labor for over $1,000.00. However, they viewed the issue from the clients eyes and provided a solution for no fee. Why no fee?
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
explained because the remedy was minimal and that we have used them before we were a valued client and

I had a new roof and gutter/fascia 10 years ago. At the time, I decided to keep the wood soffit as-is, since I had just finished painting it. Now, 10 years later, it was time for another paint job. I was told by someone that getting aluminum soffit installed when the fascia already existed would be difficult, since the soffit tucks under the fascia. My next-door neighbor was getting a new roof in

Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
responded quickly to my phone call. He said the job would be easier without the existing fascia, but certainly possible to do. He delivered the bid to my email within 2 hours. I expressed acceptance of the bid, so

Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked

Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
introduced me to the foreman,
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
. The job task involved cutting a wide hole along the length of the soffit - to increase ventilation (previously I only had a few soffit vents). They placed scaffolding and foot planks around my house, being careful around existing shrubs. The work crew was a wonderful group of hard-working people - all of them easy to talk with. Their attention to detail was commendable. I was especially impressed with how they installed the soffit panels at the corners - (see photo). They did angle-cuts on the soffit panels that tucked under a corner bar. An easier way would have been to just install uncut full panels - and I wouldn't have known any differently. The job was done by 4 pm. The mess was cleaned up. It looked very professional. When I need a new roof,
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
will be at the top of my list. .

and crew were excellent to work with. He promptly returned my initial call and scheduled an estimate appointment that same week. He explained the process they would follow and gave several suggestions to help us choose the proper materials. They performed the work just has he said they would. The work was done in early spring so there were some minor weather delays.
Fayetteville Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
always called to inform us when they would or wouldn't be on site based on the weather. Since I was not around when they were on site, he called frequently to report on progress and to make sure I was happy with their work. He is very conscientious and professional.
The new siding looks great, and we are very happy with the workmanship!

and his team are very pleasant to work with and thoroughly professional at the same time. They were our sub contractors so cannot comment on pricing, but they were on time every day and very understanding when we fell short of siding. They rescheduled their visit to accommodate the delivery of more materials. Whenever I called him, he picked up the call (unlike so many other contractors) He would also respond to texts right away. His crew would be on site by 7 am and work till light -they also would work on saturdays when ever the job called for it. I havent seen this kind of work ethic in so many others.
The quality of work was top notch as they used metal pieces at all joints and neat edges on corners. Often, I requested to make a certain corner to help me visualize the look and they obliged without hesitation. His crew also cleaned up the siding with a rag and spray cleaner as they went along ( the materials are dirty 'n dusty when they arrive)
Another episode was that my

were struggling with getting a mattress from their pick-up to the house and his crew ran over to help them. This shows their helpful attitude and humanity! They also repaired some siding for our other

I would recommend this business to friends and everyone without hesitation. In fact if my contractor fails to do rest of the jobs efficiently, I will call

to finish it.

We desperately needed new siding on our 80s style contemporary property in Ohio. Living well out of state, it was a concern that we wouldn't be able to find a decent siding company that would be willing to work with us remotely. We had quotes ranging from 15000-20000 for standard vinyl on our two story, and to be honest, were about ready to just patch up the old stuff due to the investment it would take to replace the siding, fear of placing vinyl on contemporary style wood sided home, and a slow resale
