    Seven Valleys Custom Trim
Good! They worked quickly and were very efficient in their work. They were very patient with me and created the mantle trim exactly the way I envisioned. Very nice, didnt leave a mess anywhere, and I would recommend their service.

We had multiple issues with this contractor. -First off, we purchased this house to move into it four months after addition completion as we then lived over 500 miles away. The contractor stated many times this was ample time for them to complete the addition. -Promised weekly phase completion pictures which were rarely sent (only during first stage of demolition and initial framing). Luckily, on one occasion, we were provided third party pictures that showed errors in concrete/plumbing placement requiring unnecessary demolition and relocation. -Promised completion date of project delayed multiple times. The last delay resulted in movers being called off and hotel bills for additional three days. Overall project not completed by contractor due to personal issues. -We were required on two different occasions to submit a check via express mail costing us the delivery fee due to their lack of communication to us. -Start of project delayed by a month due to delay in getting a city granted permit. When we asked the city what the status of the permit was, we were told by the contractor that we were not allowed to discuss that with them. City contradicted the contractors claim about that. -The company trashed the yard and got a dump truck stuck in back yard. -Learned through a third party that the dry wall had to removed to inspect wiring as it was not done when it was required. This also stopped other phases of the project unbeknownst to us. -After we learned the contractor failed to order the bathroom fixtures we requested three months prior (yet told us he did), we purchased them. We called the furnishing company direct and found no back order as was told by contractor. -Contractor, after failing to order carpet we requested two months prior, tried to pawn off grade and color material not to our request. -Contractor insisted on using cheap, flat paint instead of better and cleanable semi-gloss.

Here is the list of the problems we encountered while dealing with builder Brittenum Construction.
    1. Mike the realtor for Brittenum Told us that the refirigerator was included with the house.
    2. Mike said that a tiled shower was included with in the master bathroom.
    3. We asked repeatedly to meet the builder and was told he was on vacation. Later, we found he was meeting with other home buyers.
    4. We asked repeatedly to meet with Amiee Duca another realtor and listing agent for Falcon Ridge homes and we were told she was too busy.
    5. We asked to meet with the foreman and didn't get a meeting for until 2 months later.
    6. We asked for a pre-build meeting and no one responded.
    7. We asked for the Plat of the lot and never got to see it.
    8. The house floor plan was reversed and we were not notified by anyone.
    9. We had all windows gridded in the contract and they only gridded the front two windows.
10.At Encore flooring and building products we were told to picked out a tile for the shower in the master bath and were told by Encore that the tiled shower was included for our home. Lonna even checked with Brittenum to confirm that we were to get a tiled master shower.
11.When the tile type was discontinued Brittenum installed another tile type in the shower and throughout the entire house without notifying us of the tile change.
12.We went to Encore and asked them about the tile being installed and that it was not what we had chosen. We mention all the problems we had been having with Brittenum and that we couldn't recommend the builder based on our experience. This finally got us a conversation with John Brittenum the owner and he proceeded to accuse us of bad mouthing him and that we were not the type of people that he wanted in his neighborhood.
13.The foreman told us that we could have a concrete patio of size and location of our choosing and later told us that we had to put the patio only in one location and limited the size.
14.The foreman told us that they would clean up the overgrowth in the yard and later said they wouldn't.
15.They installed cabinets that were not painted properly and had three shades of white on them.
16.We respectfully asked for our deposit back because Brittenum had not honored the agreed to conditions in the contract and made numerous mistakes with our home. They declined.

John Frye Home Improvements & Construction
John's bid was about $2000 less than other bids we had gotten for this project. John has an eye for detail, so everything was top-notch, especially the tiling work on the floor and in the shower. His painting was great. He's also very clean and neat. Outside of the bathroom, you wouldn't have know there was a big project going on in the house. John is friendly and easy to talk and work with, which made this a stress-free project. We were dreading this project because our one other experience working with a contractor in this area was a disaster. This was the exact opposite. Finally, we live in Fayetteville and John is out of Siloam Springs, but he was not reluctant at all to travel the distance to do this job. I'd highly recommend him to anyone, without hesitation.

    Jeff Draper Construction
I sent an email to Jeff Draper Construction through Angie's List back in May of 2013 about getting a quote for some work I needed completed on my home. To date, I have never received a call or email from the company. Would not recommend!

Our home warranty provider contracted this group to provide a plumbing solution. I was uncomfortable with their lack of professionalism allowing a small child of theirs to run around our property. Communication was poor and they failed to show with the proper equipment. 2 weeks after their attempt to address the plumbing problem, it returned. I called another provider and they arrived promptly with the right equipment and resolved the problem, even following through with diagnostics. I wasted not just money but time off work. I would not recommend.

    Nall Custom Homes
We bought the house, knowing that our inspector, a structural engineer had told us there were problems with the support foundation of the Great Room, which was added on to the back of the house 10 years before. Apparently, the supports were placed wrongly, without concrete footing, and a shortened gutter was depositing water directly into one corner of the foundation. We asked Hannah McNeill of Key Architecture to figure out what needed to be done, and she recommended builder Mason Nall to do the work. He was incredibly courteous, honest (e.g., "this would look prettier, but really won't make much of a difference structurally"), prompt, and done fairly quickly. We would defnitely go with him for another job and recommend him highly.

Pennington Home Repair & Remodeling Inc
The work was performed exactly as described. During this work, our family was in the process of moving out of state. As a result, we could not be present for the majority of the work schedule. The contractor sent updates and photographs after every step of the work was completed, in addition to coordinating with our realtor whenever access to the house interior was needed.
The contractor's crew was also very friendly and professional, allowing me to inspect and ask questions about their work as it was performed.
In addition to the work described above, the contractor corrected an existing concrete column. This column was not originally built on a concrete footing, and began to move out of square and level. The contractor dug out sufficient space to pour a new concrete footing, and rebuilt the column properly.
Lastly, the contractor volunteered to winterize our home after the job was completed. He downplayed this as "only about 30 minutes of routine work," but this clearly showed his attention to detail and making sure our home was in the best condition possible when he left the site for the last time.

Work was performed as quoted. Somewhat unprofessional was that the crew stripped down to their underwear in my driveway in order to put on their work clothes.
The issue (and reason for the failing rating) was that when contacted two years later by a prospective buyer of our home, the contractor gave a different recommendation of what work needed to be completed, stating that the work completed in 2010 was simply a temporary solution to a bigger problem. When contacted by the prospective buyer, the contractor furnished an estimate which was nearly 10x the amount of the 2010 bid/ estimate. This estimate was given without visiting and inspecting the structure, but the contractor offered a more detailed/ on-site estimate for $100 (in contrast to the "free estimate" offer from their Angie's List profile). Upon receiving this estimate, I contacted the contractor for an explanation. The contractor claimed to have no record of the work done in 2010 (which essentially negated the 3 year warranty which was expressed on the initial job bid), but did happen to have a detailed drawing of the foundation/ substructure in their "jobs not completed" file. The phone call quickly escalated into a very one-sided 10 minute conversation, which was more shouting than constructive discussion.
Upon reviewing the contractor's assessment and estimate, I decided to obtain an unbiased second opinion from a structural engineer. I must give the contractor credit in that the opinion of the engineer was in concurrence with the contractor's assessment. However, the engineer's proposed solution contained many measures that were not included in the contractor's proposal of work.

    Jeff Draper Construction
Draper's bid was below other bids I got AND he did an excellent job from start to finish. He stayed on the job for the building and rebuilding (so he kept an eye on the quality of work). He subbed out the painting and gutter work; but, those subs were very good too. From the get go to the end, Jeff was honest and fair. I will use Jeff for the next renovation project on a different house (stove hood and skylight in the kitchen) and next year a two car garage to match a 110 year old Victorian home.
