  • have had Fairway Lawns for many, many years at 4 different residences. While the first three (Cordova, TN, Conway, AR, and then Bartlett, TN) were awesome, the most recent (Lakeland, TN) has not been. Our home is a zero lot line and small. This winter when there was 3 inches of snow on the ground the tech showed up and treated the yard, when we questioned him because it was not going to do anything but sit on top of the snow, he said don't worry, you can call us back and we will give you a free treatment (that seems pretty wasteful to me, complete waste of product). When the grass started to turn green the grass between our house and our neighbors' homes was gone. Our neighbors' grass was gone as well, but only on the side of the house that was next to ours, their other side was full and green. Our front yard and back yard were bare and not coming in as it should. When I called and complained, the supervisor called and said he would come out, call before he did so we could be there, and we would look at it together. The next day, we came home with a note on the door that he had been there ---- NO phone call as promised. He told us that it as in the process of coming back, but sometimes it just takes longer. Longer than what ---- all of our neighbors already had nice pretty grass -- I guess our house was the only one on the street that had bad sun.......We have now switched services and paid over $500 to replace the grass on the side of the house. Since we have switched services, our grass in our front and back yard is now back to the way it should be. My comment is that technicians definitely matter because in our other homes we had the nicest, plushest, greenest grass on the block.

  • I had a large Silver Maple tree in my front yard. The tree was about 30 years old and had started to split, dry rot and during heavy wind drop branches. It was between my neighbor’s and my house so it became necessary to remove it for our protection. I began to search for tree removal services and read all their reviews. I selected three tree removal companies to receive estimates and decided to go with Arkansas Tree and Stump. What a great decision that was. I called Jay Pratt (owner of Arkansas Tree Stump) and left a message. Within 10 minutes he returned my call and we scheduled a free estimate meeting for that evening. Jay came to the house and we looked at the condition of the tree. Jay informed me the tree was in reasonable health for the species but pointed out several problem areas and the nature of the species for splitting. He let me know in his opinion the tree was healthy and would likely last several more years. However, he was sure it would continue to lose branches during high wind storms and that was a risk that was not worth taking. Jay spent a great deal of time with me explaining exactly what he would do during the tree removal service and what it would look like when he was done grinding everything out. He answered all my questions and referred me to another vendor for a large replacement tree. During the evaluation, I had several other questions and Jay returned my calls immediately and fully answered my questions. It wasn’t like talking to a contractor but more like talking to your best friend. I evaluated the other bids and selected Arkansas Tree and stump to do the tree removal. We scheduled the tree removal for Friday April 13. As luck would have it, that is the day that a significant storm front was scheduled to come through. Jay called me and told me they would work that day till the weather became a problem and would stop, however this might compromise the remaining branches of the tree since there would be little to no buffering from the wind. I decided to wait till Monday to do the removal and Jay supported that decision. We rescheduled for Monday at 8:30. Jay and his crew arrived at exactly 8:30 and began work. As they removed branches, they stacked them up length wise in a pile and picked them up with a claw and put them in the truck for landfill disposal. In between cuts and loading, they would rake up any remaining leaves or small branches. I was amazed at this since the leaves and branches could have sat there all day and not caused any problem. However, apparently in the crew’s mind keeping the jobsite clean was paramount to safety and performance. Speaking of safety, the crew wore hard hats, safety glasses, gloves and long sleeve shirts for PPE. Not once did I notice an unsafe act. As the larger pieces of the trunk came down, the crew would strategically place plywood so the impact of the log would hit the plywood and not put a dent in my yard. Again, that kind of surprised me since they knew I would be replacing all the sod around the tree but their professionalism keeps them honest and they did not want to damage my yard with big holes. The tree came down without incident and then the process of the stump grinding began. It also went flawlessly but we had a great deal of anxiety during this time. The tree was placed on top of my natural gas line. Jay worked with Arkansas One Call and Arkla to make sure this process was safe and it also went off without a hitch. Man, what a pile of saw chips but then again surprise for the homeowner, the crew utilized plywood shields to minimize the spread of the chips all over the neighborhood and kept them all contained in about a 5-foot diameter around the chipping machine. This is the customer service part that amazes me, I asked Jay if he could grind out another small stump next to my house and trim an oak tree about 3 feet up while he was here. I was expecting to have to pay more for the additional work from the quoted price but not on Jay’s watch. He did the work and charged me not a cent more. He also cut a couple of branches at my neighbor’s house while he was here. At the end, the crew dressed my yard back up, removed all evidence of leaves, branches, etc. When I walked on the area I expected it to give some from the stump bring removed. To my surprise it was as firm as before with no voids. Jay did exactly what he said he would do 3 weeks earlier, fulfilled all his commitments, communicated like a pro and even went above and beyond to do a few value-added things while he was here without a charge. Last but maybe the most important pieces, as he was leaving he told me, I expect you to be 100% pleased with the job my crew did here today. If for any reason you are not, CALL ME and I will come fix it immediately. What AWESOME SERVICE from a contractor. Few times in life you get more that what you pay for and have zero problems and headaches. If you need tree removal service, you will get no better service than from Arkansas Tree and Stump and Jay Pratt.

  • Giraffe Tree Service showed up at 8:00 am and promptly went to work. One of the things that they do is very important, which is to have a job briefing and then to use various safety equipment. All have hard hats, gloves and use ropes to raise and lower themselves in the trees. SAFETY is their number one priority. It took them about 3 hours to do all of the work, including raking the entire yard and using a giant chipper/shredder, which enables them to haul away all debris. Even my yard looked better than before they came. Their workmanship is superb!

  • I have not heard from them since purchasing the consultation to schedule an appointment! I am still hoping to have this work done, but very disappointed in their lack of communication. Hopefully I will be able to review again later and have better things to say...

  • These guys are family men who work really hard to get done what the customer wants.  They are punctual and friendly, then they get to work.  I've done business with A-State for 4 years now, and they always do an excellent job.  Initially, I took bids for the work and their price was the best.  After having them work once at my house, I don't call anyone but A-State now. At my house they have built a deck, done foundation work, done kitchen and bath remodels, painting, drywall work, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.  I trust them to work on my house with care and skill.  They are also careful to not damage the surroundings, and even clean up each day when they're done working.  I highly recommend this company.

  • Very pleased.  Found leaks that were reducing pressure, and repaired them.  I was especially pleased with personal service and willingness to address my situation -- moving and needing to be away to look for a new house, and willing to do business over phone and via email, including contacting me with estimate before proceeding with work.
I no longer live in AZ, but would definitely use them if I did, and would recommend them highly.

  • It was installed quickly and efficiently......the problem is that if you ever need to reach the is impossible..
you are asked to leave a voicemail and they will return your call.........they never  return your call.....
I will never do business with them again....and I would not recomend them to anyone..

  • They did a really good job. They trimmed 4 huge trees and removed quite a few trees that were growing to close to our house and fence. They cleaned up the yard completely and hauled off all the debirs. I would highly recommend.

  • Landscape guy came over to see my yard, hear what I wanted and give me an estimate on how much it would cost. The day of the visit their guy shows up to meet me. I showed him around and after I spoke and told him what I did and did not want, I asked for input and a rough estimate. He never once said anything to me, paid no attention to what I had said and then fed me some huge and quot;I have just the idea of what I wanna doand quot; line and then the estimate never was emailed to me within the time frame he said and a week later I had to call for it, then it was another week late making it 3 weeks late.
I do not recommend someone who isn't willing to listen to what someone tells him he does or doesn't want.

  • We called this company and made an appointment for him to come by and look at the job. He never showed up. I stayed here and waited on him for nothing. Apparently a meteor fell on him, it's hard to know because he didn't call. I don't know how people can stay in business with this kind of work ethic. My time is important to me. Another company (that I found on Angie's list!) came in, did the job in an hour, and I'm pleased. I think the service that performed the job will be around a long time...not so sure about GnT.
