Pet Care & Health reviews in Cammack Village

We chose Allpets because it"s the closest vet and received good reviews of Dr Paladino whom we did not see. We were escorted into a room and shortly a young assistant came in. He didn"t spend time petting/bonding with my dog or getting information. Instead he stated he was taking my dog to the back to "weigh" him. I waited several minutes expecting the vet to come in, introduce himself as we are new patients and new to the area, conduct a review of systems and medical history of my dog. Instead the assistant brought my dog back stating "he didn"t like being restrained. He peed, he pooed. The doctor will come in to talk to you." I have a 4 year old trained chow show dog. Chows are very clean and soil only when they are sick/old. My dog must've been terrified with how they "restrained" him. When the vet came in I told him my dogs have always been examined in my presence. He said due to "liability " they no longer do that. I can appreciate that, however it was his responsibility to inform me of what he was planning to do to care for my dog. My dog had been given 3 year rabies and 3 year parvo vaccines in the past and I assumed he would be given the same since they are available. I found out from the receptionist when I checked out that he had been given a 3 year rabies but only a 1 year parvo (while he was being "weighed"). She stated "we only give the I year parvo so that you have to come back next year". We dog owners need annual heartworm tests and preventative as well as any other pertinent labs for our dog's age/health status. The lack of communication between a veterinarian and a pet owner shows disrespect, does not foster trust and is downright dangerous. The 1 star is for cleanliness of the facility.

They were amazing! I'd recommend them to everyone. Helped figure out breed, what needed done, helped with training tips, followed up after appointment. Excellent! Much better than other places I've been.

    Hillcrest Animal Hospital
We had suspicions of ear mites in one of our cats, so took him in. We had used Hillcrest before and new their care and work quality were first-rate. While we had the cat in, some shots and boosters were given, he was diagnosed mite-free, and all went well. The ONLY drawback to Hillcrest, in my opinion, is the cost. Medical care is thorough, all personnel were very good, but they do tend to be more pricey. I would never hesitate to go there for good care, and they offer some specialized procedures that you cannot get anywhere else in Little Rock.

They offered discounted services through the recommendation of a local animal rescue group. My experience was they did successful work while being accommodating to customers as well as kind and compassionate to (even) stray animals.

The two veterinarians in this office are capable and friendly. Their staff is dedicated to making veterinary visits and boarding as pleasant as possible given the nature of the business. Their office is bright and cheerful. They take the time to explain what is going on with my pets and help me come to the right decisions for treatment when necessary. Given that trips to the vet are often caused by injury or illness, they make the experience as pain free as possible.

When we dropped off the dogs, I had zero worries with them staying there for so long. I felt very different after picking them up. My dogs have prescription anxiety medicine that is only to be given as needed, and certainly not on daily basis. When we picked them up, both dogs were *very* stoned. The women told us they'd given them a pill before their baths, etc., which is completely not necessary. For the next 24 hours my dogs were barely alert. The one dog that normally does not like being boarded was reported as being fine, while the one who normally just loves it was reported as not eating, not wanting outside or anything. I'm not really sure how I feel about taking my pets back. I was fully confident after meeting one of the keepers, who spent a good half hour with us and the dogs talking before taking them back, but perhaps not everyone on the boarding staff is as dedicated as he is.

My dog has passed away now, but not because it was the fault of this hospital. It was just because he was very ill. The people that work there are very caring. They go above and beyond the call of duty. The receptionist even sent me a sympathy card when she heard that my dog had passed away. I have not purchased another dog yet, but when I do I would not go to any other animal hospital.

The service has always been outstanding. They are all very courteous and professional. Based on other places I have been, they are very reasonably priced as well. I would recommend them.
