They are very reasonably priced and professional. Went above and beyond what we expected. They were also very quick about getting the job done!

Took my Mercury to Boo with a burn transmission.  I am the third owner of this car so I know the 350k miles are true.  They did a great job and the car runs and shifts smooth again.

I called Kason the afternoon before the day of service and set up an appointment for 8:30 a.m.  I told them that when I got the oil changed on the car that the mechanic there said there was a sensor out.  The car had started hesitating from 1st to 2nd gears.  They explained that it may be that or that it could be something else they would check it out.  I dropped the car off I 8:30 and they called by 10 a.m. and said the sensor had been replaced and that it was $50.18.

My 2001 Honda Odyssey broke down during a road trip. We were appro. 170 miles from home and had to be towed to a local garage in Lavonia, GA. I was told I needed a new transmission, and there was no repair shop anywhere near for transmissions. I rented a car locally, and finished my trip. When I arrived back in Charlotte, I called Matthews Towing for the tow and transmission replacement. The tow truck driver met me in Lavonia, got my Honda hooked up, followed me to return the rental car, waited while I returned the car and I was able to ride back to my home in Charlotte with him. The quote I got from Tom (the owner) for the tow and the new Honda transmission was $1,000 less than Honda quoted and Honda's quote did not include the tow! Also Tom's warranty was exactly the same as Honda's. All of Tom's employees were very nice and patient! The first transmission they installed was from Honda, and ended up malfunctioning as soon as I left the shop, so they had to do the whole thing again. My car works great now, but the whole ordeal took place over 3 months (not Tom's fault) the staff never made me feel like a "pain" or an inconvenience. My husband and I have been back several times for major and minor work. I totally trust the staff and they always explain the necessary repairs thoroughly. I highly recommend Matthews Towing.

They gave me a firm fair price whereas others would only give a price range. Work was done on time. No complaints. Work done at their shop.

    Benton Transmission Automotive & Tire
Told by someone Benton Transmission was "expensive but you could trust their work". They were expensive, BUT YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM- VERY DISHONEST! First we were told the repair would be done in 3-5 business days- it took 8 business days. After paying the $4300 transmission repair bill, as my wife began driving off their lot she was alarmed as the electronic power steering, which had never given any indication of trouble, failed on the car. She immediately turned around and reported the power steering was lost. The mechanic we had been dealing with told her they had not noticed anything wrong with the power steering, but another mechanic who test drove it immediately after the transmission repair stated he noticed a power steering problem. She was told they would check what could have caused the power steering failure and would call her back. Two days later, after not hearing from them and seeing the car in their parking lot, I went in and was told the power steering unit was faulty in that model and make and Ford had sent letters to owners about the defect. After checking with the local Ford dealer in town they verified Benton Transmission had indeed called to check but had given them the wrong make of vehicle to check. After giving Ford the correct make and VIN# they confirmed the car was not included in the recall, and in fact had a different power steering unit altogether. Benton Transmission stated they would not take any responsibility for the electronic power steering failure that occurred while in their possession. I asked that the owner call me back to discuss the situation but have not heard from him. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED IF YOU WOULD EVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT!

They don't know what they're doin. I paid $330 for a coil pack that didn't even fix the problem. Then he told me the problem was a Transmission solenoid pack was bad and that he doesn't do transmission work. I paid an additional $150 for a solenoid pack from O'reillys and he was wrong again. It turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter which I fixed my self for $0. So I pretty much wasted $480. Don't waste yours!
