    Spurlin Family Dentistry
I paid the cost of all the work that needed to be done before my last appointment. During my last appointment several mistakes were made, one being not pulling the correct tooth,so I had to have more gas and then have the correct tooth. Then upon leaving I am told that I now owe 4000.00 on a bill that I thought was already paid. I said I would pay100 a month on the bill. One week I sent them 200 and then a few weeks later I sent them 300.the next week I received a bill that stated that my bill was over 90 days pass due. I was also told not to bring my daughter back. The receptionist is rude and hateful, and doesn't care at all about the customers.she embarrassed me in front of a waiting room full of people and enjoyed every moment of it. The partial that he made is ugly, you can see wires when I speak, and the bottom one hurts like h***. As soon as I pay them off I will be going to have better partials made....

Dr. Spurlin was able to rebuild a chipped front tooth so that it looks like new! I also had a very badly cracked molar that had to be removed. He was very gentle and the staff were amazing. He is a wonderful dentist.

This was my 5th visit since the first of the year. This dentist took over the practice when the previous elderly and very kind dentist passed away. My initial cleaning and 2 subsequent cleanings went very well. My hygienist is wonderful, my issue is with the dentist himself. My first visit with him was to fill two small cavities near the gum line. He nicked my gum and there was considerable bleeding. But all an all that visit went all right. My visit yesterday was a procedure like the first, a simple filling of two small cavities. This visit was however considerably different He seemed very rushed. When he gave me the Novocain he didn’t wait for it to take effect prior to starting. So there was pain. He didn’t much like the idea that I said I was still feeling pain, in short seemed to blame me not the shot. So he proceeded to pump me full of Novocain. The dental assistant was one I hadn’t seen before and was in the process of training a new young lady. I didn’t mind that, we all have to learn. But her demeanor was less than pleasant as was the doctors. Very rushed, very condescending and very rude. The Novocain started to work towards the end of the procedure. It goes without saying the procedure was not at all comfortable nor was the interaction with him or his assistant. I expressed my displeasure to the receptionist upon paying and leaving the office. By the time I got home, about 20 minutes, I was almost sick. My cheeks and gums were so deaden and I was nauseous. I called and again epressed my displeasure with the visit. At 7:00 o’clock, the procedure was at 1:00 o’clock, I was very sick to my stomach and numbness was still so intense I could drink or eat. My tongue seemed swollen. I called his office and left a message on his machine. I never heard a word. I believe a dentist shouldn’t book so heavily that he/she has to start drilling before the anesthesia has had time to work and further more shouldn’t complain when the patient brings it to their attention. He was very demeaning, compared me to his old car. Pay me now or pay me later remark. I’ll be looking for a new dentist and wouldn’t recommend this guy to anyone. Now I must say this. My hygienist AND the office staff are very kind and sweet, but the dentist himself and yesterdays assistant have no bedside manner and can be very rude, as was the case with yesterdays visit.
