Lighting Installation reviews in Bentonville

I got a little lucky and was able to both get an estimate and have the work completed in less than a week due to some cancellations on their calendar. David was punctual on both appointments and his work looks great!

It went really well. They were scheduled to come on Friday afternoon. We did have a miscommunication - I thought they were going to perform the work, but they expected only to give me an estimate and schedule the work for a later date. They gave me the estimate - which I thought was fair but high - and the manager called an hour later to let me know they had an electrician who could do the work that afternoon, as I had requested. TJ was the electrician they sent - and he was outstanding. Super polite, extremely professional and knowledgeable. He completed the work quickly and did an incredibly neat and clean job on everything. He explained exactly what he was doing and why - as I watched him work, I could see that he was a really experienced professional. Was really pleased with everything he did. He arrived at 4:30 PM and completed all the work at 8:30 PM on a Friday night. Really appreciated his commitment to do great work - and on a weekend evening!

The original fan had a light switch for both the light and the fan. When her put the new fan in he just connected it all to the same single switch so it's all or nothing unless you use a remote control.

He took our ceiling fan down and when he was ready to put up the chandelier he noticed there was a part missing. He left bc he couldn't finish the job, understandably. But when I got the correct part in and called back to schedule him to come back out and finish the job...they quoted me $375!! That was almost 4 times what the original job was that he only did half of!! What on Earth?

This was an Angie's list deal; 2 hours of handyman service for $79.00. They contacted me promptly and were able to complete the job the day after I contacted them. I was not sure if they would be able to finish in 2 hours, but they did. I was very pleased with their work. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use them again.

When we needed new bathroom light fixtures replaced and new ceiling fans installed we called Staley, Inc in the AM and they came that afternoon. They were very professional, had all of the necessary tools, cleaned up after them selves. I would highly recommend this company.

Due to severe cold weather, we could not do anything but diagnose the problem between December 2013 and January 2014.  The tech, Michael, contacted me on 1/08/2014 to come out and fix the remote (replace). It was very cold and my husband was home sick, so he said he would call me the next Wednesday, January 15.  It is now 4/3/14, and I have had no contact with this business.  I did call yesterday and leave a message, which has not been returned.  So I am out a $95 service call, my remote control on the logs is not replaced, and now that my husband has retired and our income is DRASTICALLY reduced , I cannot afford the $350 estimate for the replacement.  Had they called me in January while he was still working and had a steady paycheck coming in, it could have been fixed.

Their ad in the yellow pages states "customer service is our #1 priority".  Really????  The man who came out in December and diagnosed the problem was very knowledgeable, professional, and prompt.  Both my husband and I were very impressed, even though the replacement cost seemed a bit high.  Needless to say, by "dropping the ball" on this matter, we are feeling we would have done better to have taken the $95 and burned it in the fireplace for heat!

Yes, I could have pestered them with phone calls during the last 3 months, and probably have gotten the job completed BUT is it really necessary for the customer to "chase" the company in order to get a repair done in a timely manner?  Yes, the weather did play a factor as well...snow, ice and cold (our whole house heat would have had to have been turned off for 2+ HOURS).  But we did have some tolerable weather and I am hot blooded so 2 hours of cold would have felt good!

All in all, I am out $95, my logs are not fixed and now I cannot afford the repair. My advice, use at your own risk and only if you have time to "pester" them to death to get the job done. I cannot comment on the quality of work done as it was not completed.

    Very bad experience and completely
ridiculous.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.  I had everything ready- we
pulled out old lights and I'd measured and spray painted dots for all new
lights and called to verify I didn't need to go get any supplies for the job,
etc.  They arrived 30 minutes late. Mr. Logue came in and brings his
apprentice-type son so they can only be there half the time.
I hoped to move 5 lights over less than a foot to
center them, plus installing 1 new closet light.  They explain it's harder
than simply moving due to various factors, which I then understand and accept.
But they also tell me there will be additional charges for being in the
attic [which Jackie had mentioned there being a $75 attic fee in the fine
print], but BEWARE, I asked repeatedly to know the additional charges I would
be charged, and after waiting a long time [again, my paid time on the clock
here ticking away...] they come back and explain it's ADDITIONAL $2,500.
Okay, I understand I'm not an electrician and
don't completely understand what's involved with dealing with old wiring, but
we're talking about $3,100 to install 6 ceiling lights??? So then I ask how
much to just center the 2 lights & install 1 closet? He came back and said
it'd be an additional $900 [on top of the $600 value I supposedly was to
receive and had paid for.] Since I've supposedly gotten AND PAID FOR this
great special for 8 hours of licensed electrician's work, I THINK IT'S MORE
you do have old wiring. I don't think that's unreasonable at all and to NOT
His attitude was offensive, and I tried various things to accommodate
them, but I just felt they were determined to rip me off and NOT HONOR THEIR
OFFER. I would never him or recommend him to anyone, even if they'd just
    done the work.
Now, they'll say my voucher expired, but that's
beside the point.  And anyway, I don't recall an expiration - not sure on
CONTACTED IN 24 HOURS, which did NOT happen.  He claims someone must have,
but all i got was a message saying someone would contact me. After having a baby
who was then in/out of the hospital for 3 months, I did call them finally, and
yes, it took a long time, but THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME, I suspect happy to take
my money.  I needed to explain that, because I guess that's his excuse for
the right to rip me off.
I tried to find a way to use what I'd already
spent, but the kept coming back with unreasonable "fine print" fees.

The new canned lights in my kitchen look fantastic!  What a difference.  The crew showed up promptly and Bill Towler, the owner of Amp, walked them through the work and what we had discussed a few days prior.  I was impressed he took the time to do so.  The crew was professional and friendly.  They were surprisingly quiet, considering the work involved cutting into the drywall, and they cleaned up at the end of the day.

I was contacted immediately from a woman wanting to know a list of everything to be performed.  I provided a list as best as I could ... not being familiar with how much time it takes to do each task, I asked "do you think that's a full day's work" to which she answered "yes".  I asked if they finished this list before my 8 hours was up, would they be able to work on other things ... to wish she answered "yes".
Two people arrived (a man & woman) ... the woman may have been an electrician, but did NO work.  I may have received 3 hours of work total, including the 45 minutes he took to go get parts.
Original list: outlets in bathroom not working, install ceiling fan in office, put under counter lights on switch in the laundry room, put outlet under the sink in bathroom, install speaker wires in living room ceiling, replace battery only smoke detectors with wired smoke detectors, install new lighting fixture in bathroom.
What I got from the original list:
    * Outlets in bathroom not working:  He claimed I needed a new GFI switch, which he replaced (I think, I never saw the box or the receipt).  It didn't fix the problem.  I explained (a second time) I thought my handyman messed up the wiring in the attic.  He did eventually find the problem in the attic and fixed it but charged me an extra $75.  I told the woman on the phone about the likelihood that wiring in the attic was messed up also but was not told of the extra $75 attic charge.
    * Installed ceiling fan very quickly ... nice job.
    * Laundry room lights:  CAN'T DO THIS ... first because he would have to cut the drywall, then said it wasn't the right type of wire.  Said he could put a switch on the wire, but did not do.
    * Install speaker wires in living room:  He doesn't do this type of work (why didn't the woman tell me that on the phone?)
    * Replaced smoke detectors very quickly ... nice job.
    * Install fixture under bathroom sink:  CAN'T DO THIS ... need a new circuit & can't access the right location.
After I realized I wasn't going to get the full 8 hours of work, I started to think of other jobs he could help with.  When I purchased the $299 deal, the woman told me I could use the full 8 hours even if they finished the original list.  This didn't go over well.  It was Friday about noon and they were obviously ready to leave.
One of my landscaping lights wasn't working.  I told him I thought the wiring was bad ... it was an extension cord not meant for outdoor use & my handyman covered it with PVC, but don't think that fixed the problem.  The electrician looked at it and said the light was burnt out ... the handyman must have touched it with his bare hands.  He changed the bulb and it worked at the time.  It worked less than a day ... when I turned it on that night, no light.  I still believe something is wrong with the wiring, which he did not check since the bulb was burnt out.  I just hope it's not a safety hazard.
Other things he might be able to do?  I asked him to check the other GFIs since the one was bad.  He seemed annoyed that I was finding other projects.  He quickly checked & said all others were OK while handing me a bill (obviously ready to leave).  I was very surprised to see a bill for $105 after I had already paid $299.  He explained the attic charge was in the small print on the Angie's List offer ... I didn't check, it probably is.  I asked if the fee could be waived since I didn't get a full 8 hours of work.  He said NO, it was very clear that attics were an additional charge.  He also said he couldn't come back to do more work because the fine print said all the work had to be done in ONE visit.  I didn't ask him about a second visit, but his offering it up made it clear that this is a common occurrence.
I asked for a receipt since he charged me $30 for supplies (a GFI outlet and a light bulb).  He said they keep parts in their warehouse and didn't have a receipt.  I believe they're based in Huntsville, so maybe he has a warehouse in Bentonville since they were only gone about 45 minutes?
WOW ... $405 for 3 hours of work!  Needless to say, I am not happy with what I received for the money.
There was indeed no info in the fine print of the Big Deal Coupon about being charged the $75 for the attic fee.
