FTold by someone Benton Transmission was "expensive but you could trust their work". They were expensive, BUT YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM- VERY DISHONEST! First we were told the repair would be done in 3-5 business days- it took 8 business days. After paying the $4300 transmission repair bill, as my wife began driving off their lot she was alarmed as the electronic power steering, which had never given any indication of trouble, failed on the car. She immediately turned around and reported the power steering was lost. The mechanic we had been dealing with told her they had not noticed anything wrong with the power steering, but another mechanic who test drove it immediately after the transmission repair stated he noticed a power steering problem. She was told they would check what could have caused the power steering failure and would call her back. Two days later, after not hearing from them and seeing the car in their parking lot, I went in and was told the power steering unit was faulty in that model and make and Ford had sent letters to owners about the defect. After checking with the local Ford dealer in town they verified Benton Transmission had indeed called to check but had given them the wrong make of vehicle to check. After giving Ford the correct make and VIN# they confirmed the car was not included in the recall, and in fact had a different power steering unit altogether. Benton Transmission stated they would not take any responsibility for the electronic power steering failure that occurred while in their possession. I asked that the owner call me back to discuss the situation but have not heard from him. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED IF YOU WOULD EVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT!- Allen C.

DWe took the car to his shop on Monday and he told us the price and that it would be ready at the end of the week. We called on
Thursday and he told us it wasn't ready. He said he would need a few more days to get it finished. We told him ok and to call us when it was ready. He agreed. The following Thursday we hadn't heard from him so we called and he told us it was ready. We picked the car up the next day. On the way home the car was doing the same thing that caused us to take it to the shop in the first place. The shop was closed by the time we were able to call him. So on Monday morning we called and took the car back to his shop and were told he would get it in as soon as possible. Again we told him to call us when it was ready. A week went by-no call. On Friday morning I called and was told it was ready. I made special arrangements to have someone drive to my house to pick me up and take me to his shop where I picked the car up. Again on the way home it was still not any better. So when my husband got home that afternoon (because you know women don't know anything about cars!) he agreed that it was not repaired. So the following Monday we take the car back! This time he kept the car for about 3 weeks!!! He finally tells us it's ready. We pick the car up and on the way home its much better but still not running smoothly. So AGAIN we take the car back and I make him get in the car and drive it with me in the passenger seat. He says he understands the problem and will have it fixed in two days. By the time it was all said and done he had the car for a total of eight weeks! The car is running ok but still not as it should be. We are just tired of taking it back and forth. We were told it has a one year warranty and I hope that means from the last day we picked it up. I would not suggest this shop to anyone.
