  • Told by someone Benton Transmission was "expensive but you could trust their work". They were expensive, BUT YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM- VERY DISHONEST! First we were told the repair would be done in 3-5 business days- it took 8 business days. After paying the $4300 transmission repair bill, as my wife began driving off their lot she was alarmed as the electronic power steering, which had never given any indication of trouble, failed on the car. She immediately turned around and reported the power steering was lost. The mechanic we had been dealing with told her they had not noticed anything wrong with the power steering, but another mechanic who test drove it immediately after the transmission repair stated he noticed a power steering problem. She was told they would check what could have caused the power steering failure and would call her back. Two days later, after not hearing from them and seeing the car in their parking lot, I went in and was told the power steering unit was faulty in that model and make and Ford had sent letters to owners about the defect. After checking with the local Ford dealer in town they verified Benton Transmission had indeed called to check but had given them the wrong make of vehicle to check. After giving Ford the correct make and VIN# they confirmed the car was not included in the recall, and in fact had a different power steering unit altogether. Benton Transmission stated they would not take any responsibility for the electronic power steering failure that occurred while in their possession. I asked that the owner call me back to discuss the situation but have not heard from him. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED IF YOU WOULD EVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT!

  • Called immediatly after purchase when we arrived home  to relay that it had issues. It wouldnt shift into 4th gear, wouldnt go above a certain speed, etc. Gilberts wife was who took the info. Said she couldnt do anything and would call her husband. She called back and said they could not refund or exchange. They said you bought it as is. Its yours, theres nothing we can do for you.
    Who bought it:
A 22 year old college student who took out a loan to be able to purchase this car.
    Before we bought it:
It was advertised on Craigslist as being in good condition. We have pictures to prove it. It was test drove once with Grandfather as the passenger. Looked under the hood once to see if we could see anything obvious. Gilbert never relayed the issues even though he knew what was wrong with it.
Also, Gilbert did not disclose that he had taken it to a mechanic (we found his mechanic paper with the number on it and the words "shudders when shifting and trans issues" written on it. It was stuck between the passenger seat and the middle console.
When a customer tells a mechanic what the issues are, they write them down on this ticket so that they know where to start to look.  Point is, Gilbert had taken it to a mechanic and he knew he was selling a lemon.
    After we bought it:
Tried three different times to resolve this issue with him. He refused saying he did nothing wrong and that he only made 500 dollars off the car. He said that since "the guy that came with Kamerin (His 70 year old grandpa who had been a mechanic in the 70s for a few years) that they should have seen something and they didnt. That Kamerin bought it as is. There is just nothing he can do.

  • Quickly worked up a detailed estimate and stuck to it. No surprises. Repairs were finished a half-day earlier than promised. So far as I can tell, the repairs are perfect in all respects. As an unexpected bonus, RBS washed and vacuumed the car, leaving it nicer than it was when I brought it in. Don't know if the price was the best I could get because I didn't shop around, but I know RBS saved me money by not using "official" Toyota parts (the non-OEM parts were just as good as the originals). Very professional operation, from the front desk to the work crews. Their excellent reputation is well deserved.

  • Gave much better estimate/price on the alternator than two other places (national chains by the way).
They suggested that since my older diesel truck didn't have many power options (windows, locks, seats, etc.) that the smaller amperage alternator would serve my needs just as well.  The national chains only quoted me the 'Rolls Royce' price which was the higher amperage alternator.
Also during normal check of belts/hoses they found several cracks in the Serpentine belt.  They pointed it out to me, gave a good price estimate, and changed it out quickly.
I dropped the truck off at 1 p.m. and it was ready to be picked up at 8:30 the next morning.  That even involved ordering the alternator from a Little Rock supplier.
Quick service got my truck back to me in less than 24 hours, at a much better price than two other service departments in the area.  My AngiesList Coupon saved me another $20 for good measure.
I would recommend Benton Transmission for any future auto service needed.

  • They sent me a coupon in the mail and I needed to get these things done so I called them at approx. 10 am and they told me they could do it today. I took my vehicle there and it was ready at 3:30pm. The cost was average as compared to other places. They were very friendly and did an inspection of my vehicle and made suggestions for future maintenance.

  • Enjoy dealing with Landers in Benton.  They have a good sales team (specifically Butch) and service department.  They did a good job with some work we had done and we'll probably use them for all the maintenance on our new vehicle.

  • I had my full size spare on my truck and the rim with the blown tire on it along with the new tire in the bed. They put the new tire on my rim, removed my the spare, replaced it with the new rim/tire, and put the spare back up under the bed. My only problem with the whole thing is that in order to place the spare in it's spot under the bed of the truck, they needed a tool from my truck. Everything was installed properly but they neglected to put my jack and jack handle back where it belongs. Not a big deal but a little less than professional - in my opinion. Without seeing how it came out, it took a little figuring for me to get the jack and handle back in place as intended (so that nothing rattles) and I got my hands all greasy right before going back to work.
On the upside, they really did two tire installations for the price of one. They removed the tire from the spare and placed it on my alloy rim and then put the new tire on the spare (I asked them to do it this way because the new tire was a different brand than the other four). It really should have been two installations but they only charged me for one even though I didn't buy the tire from Walmart. So, all in all, I can't complain too much.

  • I bought a 2012 Toyota Tacoma from Landers Certified preowned program (it only had 6800 miles so it was basically new). By the time we finished all the paperwork for the sale the place was closed and it was dark outside so I didn't have adequate light to look the new truck over for any issues. When I got it home I noticed that the trailer light receiver (a part of the factory towing package) was broken. I immediately called my sales person to see if this could be remedied and he said no problem. The vehicle had been owned previously by a smoker so I was already planning on going back to have them run the ozone generator in the truck to take the smoke smell out.
Due to my work and school schedule, I wasn't able to take the time to go back up to the dealership to remedy these two items until I was ready for my first oil change - approximately two months after the purchase date.
By this time I had also noticed a couple other pieces that were missing (a rear mud flap and a small plastic piece of the frame rail/steps). Either of these items could have been stolen from my truck during that time but I know they didn't fall off from anything I did.
When I got to Landers, I pointed out all of these issues to my salesperson who refused to attend to any of them - including the trailer light receiver he had promised to fix. He said that since more than 30 days had passed, he couldn't fix it - Landers policy. None of these items are a big deal in the long run but it bothers me because Landers brags about their certified pre-owned program touting all the inspection points and yet something as blatantly obvious as the trailer lights gets over looked (and possibly the missing mud flap and frame rail piece as well). It just makes me wonder how serious they actually are about their inspection process. If something obvious gets over looked, what about the inner workings of the engine and drive train?
But more importantly, I felt like my sales person was very shady. He never mentioned to me at any point that there was a time limit on the repairs. I suppose it's fairly typical of salespeople to be your best friend until the moment you sign and then want nothing to do with you. To me, it's just not very professional. The part would have cost them pinnies and they could have kept a promise to a customer and created some loyalty. Instead they made me never want to buy from Landers again.
The truck is great (it's a Toyota). I'm not saying the place is full of crooks, I'm just saying it would hurt to have some good old fashioned customer service. I'm sure I could have raised h*** to a manager and gotten my way or at least a discount or something but I don't think people should have to fight for something they were already promised.

  • These guys are very professional. Their prices are just a tiny bit high compared to some of the chain tire shops but I think they make up for it with integrity. I've had several small to medium service jobs done on my three vehicles and I've never felt cheated or mislead in any way. They disclose everything up front and they are extremely quick. They won't do any work without your approval so you don't end up with surprises when it comes time to pay the bill. My only beef with this tire shop is the same as my beef with most tire shops - they don't cater to higher end sports cars in terms of balancing tires and rims for high speed. But very few tire shops do. For your everyday vehicle services, these guys are top notch.

  • I will get my oil changed here forever! It's fairly priced and done very quickly. They offer car washes and will give you a raincheck if you don't have time that day. They also service diesel vehicles. My husbands truck is diesel and finding a place that will change his oil without an appt. is difficult. The staff is very friendly and honest about time of service.
