Woodworking reviews in Bella Vista

  • We took bids from several contractors to redo our master bathroom. We wanted a large whirlpool tub removed on a window wall and a nice shower installed. We wanted the old, small shower removed and the toilet moved into the old shower alcove. Being on a slab, this was a major project. We selected TMC to do the job and met with George and Dean to order materials and set a start date. We were told that the project could take up to three weeks. Dean and his crew arrived early on the first day of demolition and worked late to get a good start. The crew were hard-working, friendly guys who worked well together. Hammering up the floor was a major part of the job and the messiest but the men did very well at containing the majority of the grime to the immediate work area. Besides the shower and the toilet move we also had a window removed and a solar tube installed, we had a new exhaust fan installed, a new soffit built above the shower, a linen closet installed and the porcelain floor in the bathroom and dressing room replaced. The work was well coordinated and completed within two weeks and we are extremely happy with the finished product. The charges were fair, the crews were great and the workmanship is excellent. We will call The Maintenance Company for any future remodeling or home repair needs. They are competent, reasonably priced and easy to deal with.

  • This is the second time we have used HMM and we could not be happier! Our craftsman Jeff is the absolute best. He is punctual, polite and professional. We had them replace a jetted tub with a clawfoot soaker tub, remove a stall shower and replace with a tiled shower and remove large wall mirrors and replace with smaller framed units. Jeff was there every mornong, worked all day and made great progress every day. When we came home he had finished up for the day and cleaned up all the evidence that he had been there. The job was done in budget and ahead of schedule. Communication was great and constant.

  • Chris Cutberth (Cutberth Construction, 26638 Farm Road 1070, Seligman, MO 65745) could not legally build a sunroom on my property by obtaining a city building permit as he specifically promised he could. I was unaware this structure is NOT allowed here in the city of Bella Vista, Arkansas. He will not return my deposit owed to me totalling $12,750.00 that was paid to Cutberth in good faith. I have all the documents concerning transactions with Cutberth Construction. I have reported this theft to the Bella Vista Arkansas Police Department and a copy of that report 17-02021 is available. I have also filed a Consumer Complaint No. 18-00093 with the Arkansas Attorney General and another Consumer Comlaint with Missouri Attorney General. I am a disabled retired senior citizen and Chris Cutberth took advantage of me with promises he could not deliver and refuses to refund my money for services that were not performed.

  • Bella Vista Contractors crew of Darren and Bill were prompt, professional, and courteous. They worked quickly, paid attention to detail, and completely cleaned up when they were finished. Could not have asked for a better job. The house and deck look great. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

  • The job went very smooth and they did excellent work and went beyond my expectations by adding some touches and making sure the job was done right. After they finished they cleaned up the area around the Man Cave and left no trash behind. I enjoyed visiting with them and while they were here and getting some ideas for future plans. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them for your next project. Thanks Charles and Joel, Rev John Lindner

  • Nick and Randy did a great job in installing crown molding through our living room, dining room and kitchen Nick is retired and doesn't take on major jobs but he is a skilled carpenter who will do some nice work for you at a reasonable cost. We will definitely call him for future work around our home. We had purchase the molding so the cost is for labor.

  • Handy man was very nice and even though he said he was a carpenter and was used mostly in that area he did a great job. The only problem I had with this company was in scheduling an appointment. ONCE I had a firm appointment, everything went great. I would recommend this company to friends and family.

  • On the advice of a friend from our church, we contacted Matt Hudgens, owner of MH Woodworks, in June 2014.  They are located in Seligman, Missouri, just north of the MO/AR state line.  View their website at

We asked for a quote on all new kitchen cabinets.  Matt came out in a timely way, measured, etc. and gave us a fair, very reasonable quote for what we wanted.  The quote included all the cabinets, all the hardware, soft-close doors/drawers, staining/varnishing, pull-out shelves for all lower cabinets, a laminate countertop - and of course the design.  Before I go any further, we want you to know that our kitchen turned out beautifully and the cabinets were first class!!  We love them!

We didn't want the job completed until the fall of the year since we were doing some other remodeling and traveling during the year related to our 50th wedding anniversary.  Also, our son who lives in Wisconsin and has a construction company was in the process of building a home that would not be completed until fall.  Our son was planning to do all the installation of the cabinets and new appliances as our anniversary gift from him and his wife.  Matt furnished the best quote and was willing to accommodate our "unknown" timeline so we hired him.  He furnished numerous samples of wood colors/stains, as well as hardware (dropped them off in Bella Vista for us!).  Both he and his wife, who works with him, were very professional and easy to work with.  They responded quickly when we called with questions or minor changes.

When we knew the exact date our son would be available to come down to our home, we called Matt and let him know so he could begin building the cabinets.  He finished ahead of schedule.  We - including our son - were impressed with the quality of the workmanship.  The inside as well as the outside of the cabinets were stained, leaving a very finished look.  The holes for all the hardware were pre-drilled for us, and all the pieces were well-marked and numbered.  The molding that goes on top of the cabinets was all pre-cut and all the corners fit perfectly. Since our son does construction, he was in a position to criticize or praise - and his praise was great.

Just an aside - when we were considering  hiring Matt/MH Woodworks, we took a drive up to Seligman one day to tour the shop and see for ourselves how his things are built and assembled.   We were very impressed with his operation.  He has very nice people working for him.  We found out that he has worked in cabinetry since he was 13 years old, with his father, and then a few years ago was able to buy the business from his dad.  He has done well, and is even expanding into special furniture.  When our son came down, we were waiting on our countertops and decided to take him up the Matt's shop and he, too, was quite impressed with it.

Another aside - we had ordered laminate countertops because we didn't want to spend the money on granite.  During the summer, our son and his wife decided to kick in the extra bucks and SURPRISE US with all granite countertops.  They contacted Matt about it and Matt and his wife, Heather, went along with the whole surprise.  I think that's neat!! especially because the granite had was going to be purchased from another source.

We are hoping some of our friends will be in a position to do some remodeling so we can recommend MH Woodworks to them. The quality of their work is A+ all the way around.

  • We like to keep our house in "ready to sell" condition. Hey, you never know! Just to give you a sense of the scale of the task, our home is a single family, single story, 1,600 square foot home with a 2 car garage and 8x12' garden shed. The entire job was done in one day.
We received other proposals, but BVC's, not the lowest, was best balanced and drew our attention. We were not disappointed.
In addition to painting the house they replaced some weathered wood trim, calked as needed, and nailed up some sagging under-eave areas to give the entire exterior a "like new" appearance. Seriously, you could drive down our street and easily think, "Oh, that must be one of the new houses around here." It's not.

  • I chose a different contractor only because previous commitments made it impossible for him to do the work before I had to leave for the season. I am fully confident that he would have performed quite well.
