He's very good and inexpensive.  We' had 5 dogs and one cat, plus we've taken several rescues.  We've taken a couple with broken legs there.  He doesn't over charge for things and he's very quick to say you don't need certain things.  He's straightforward especially with people with over weight animals.  It's his pet peeve.  You don't really make an appointment unless you have a surgery.  It's first come first service unless an emergency comes in.  I don't think I've ever gotten out of there in less than a half hour, generally it's 2 hours.  He's always packed because he's way less expensive than everyone else.  He charges $20 per visit and he will send you to the pharmacy if he writes a prescription.  He takes so long because there are so many  people.  Spays are reasonable, I think ours was $65 plus shots.  He seems to be equal to or more inexpensive than his competitors. They are closed 2 hours for lunch.  If you were there before lunch and didn't get seen then you need to be there after lunch.  Sometimes the person working will give every one a number but not always.  My mom had horse that was sick and we had no way of getting the animals to the vet.  I managed to get him on the phone and he was real honest and said he couldn't come out there but he was able to tell me from the description I gave him that the horse was not going to make it.  He suggested some things to do but said she would most likely die.  We tried 7 other vets first that wouldn't even help us or tell us anything to do, so at least he picked up the phone.  He cares and you can tell he cares.

Appointment time was 9:00 a.m., I was on time. She didn't unlock the door of the business until 9:10. There was no excuse or apology forthcoming, although I knew from the employees of the vet's office next door that she worked out at a gym from 8 to 9.  My dog was second in line. I returned home with a promise of a phone call when she was finished with the grooming. Four and one-half hours later, I still had not heard from her, so I called. I was told that dogs were taken in the order in which they arrived, and that there had been several dogs ahead of mine so she was not ready yet; she had only been bathed. Thirty minutes or so later, I received the call that she was ready. If dogs are taken in the order in which they arrive, what is the purpose of appointments? Since I KNEW there was only one dog ahead of mine, it was a blatant lie to tell me there were several dogs ahead of mine. That is very unprofessional. I will not be returning.

One of my cats stopped eating a few years ago and my old vet couldn't do anything for him. I went to Greene Mountain where they force fed him and they realized that maybe it was the valium that he gave him before the procedure. The problem was that the cat was despondent after we lost another cat so he just stopped eating. The vet's attention to detail saved my cat. We bought some kittens to be his pals and he is doing great now.
