Landscaping reviews in Vestavia Hills

  • We needed our old lights upgraded to LED and several circuits repaired. Doug came out and gave us expert recommendations and delivered as promised and on time. It wasn’t cheap but I definitely got what I paid for.

  • They showed up on time with all the necessary equipment. They went right to work and worked very well as a team, each one helping out the other. They were very proficient, pleasant, and professional. They cleaned up during the process as well as at the end leaving nothing behind. They did an excellent job and I would definitely hire them again.

  • I gave them several chances and I must say that I had to call customer service more times than I ever called my lawn service in the last 14 years of living in my home. All I asked was that the grass in the back would be bagged with a walking mower. The first time they did not have that type of mower and said they would come back. It took a day or two. This has happened several times since and one time it was a week before they showed up. I live in a gated community and they asked to be admitted. My son told guard to admit them. They never showed and did not cut the grass. However, my bank account was charged for the service we did not receive. By the time they came back to cut my grass it was 4 weeks and my grass was ankle deep. The next time they came was the same story. They did not have a bag mower and said they would be back the next day. I did not see them until a week had passed. Today, they did not have a walk mower with a bag. Before I could get outside they had cut my back yard with a mower and no bag. My gate hinges had come loose so I had used bungees to hold it in place. I went and check the gate after they left and they had cut 3 of them in half. I called to cancel service, but they did not answer any of their lines. I did not even get an answering system. The only thing I got was music for a long time. Beware if you plan to use this company. They are very unprofessional. They do not have enough equipment for each truck to have the equipment to manicure a lawn. The first time they said that the owner had the lawn mover with the bag. Don't put up with them for 2+ months thinking they would get better. It only got worse. I have pictures, but do not know how to download them.

  • Great experience, from sales to completion. The whole process was stress free -- team was professional, thorough, and careful to leave the work area clean and free of debris. Would definitely hire again.

  • Adam suggested bushes and trees to cut back, and a general approach to clean up the appearance of the front and back yards. I went with many of his suggestions. These included removing one of the trees from the front yard; limbing the remaining front yard trees, and several in the back yard; removing several trees in the back yard; severely cutting back bushes in both the front and back yards; and spreading mulch in both the front and back yards. The job was completed in two days, in a very professional manner, and I am thrilled with how the yard looks. All tasks were completed in a very professional manner. As is the case with any outdoor work, the exact date when the landscaping was to occur was uncertain until the point when it actually occurred; this was exacerbated by an unusual amount of rain last summer and fall. It is also the case that Myers Landscapes has a backlog, which one would expect from a successful company; so nobody should expect that they could request work and have it completed the following week. But working with Myers Landscapes is well worth the wait.

  • As always, Mr. Benetech and his crew accomplished the job in an excellent manner. They were on time, went straight to work, and finished the job in less than an hour. Marlin's Company is one of only 3 service Companies that I have had contact with since moving to Birmingham 18 years ago that I rate as a "Customer Focused, Quality Organization"!

  • Great. They always are careful not to damage other trees. Clean up is excellen too. In fact after they ground the stumps they volunteered to spread out the mulch, blow my driveway of debris from Hurricane Irma, and even hauled off a big branch that had fallen in the yard.

  • Marlin and his team were professional, punctual, and did great work. He was very patient in answering all the questions my husband and I had regarding the electrical component of the installation. They did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone. I know in the future if I need help or to fix a problem, he will not hesitate.

  • Gray's was very responsive, and did a fantastic job from estimate to clean up. They have all their own equipment, so there was no waiting or extra payment for a crane. The crew was wonderful. I would use this company again in a heartbeat!

  • We needed 2 large pine trees removed as well as 3-4 other smaller trees cut out. On May 23rd we had them come out and give us a quote and worked out a price. Within a day we decided to contract with Ace and have them do the work. I was told then that it would be 3-4 weeks before the work started. A few weeks pass and on June 24 we finally get a call from their office telling me that they finally have me on the schedule for late July!! Stuck the date on my calendar and shrugged it off. The day of the removal comes and I never get a phone call, so around lunch I buzz their office only to be told that they are rescheduling me again due to some backlog. They didn't give me a date but said they would call to reschedule. So 2-3 days later I haven't heard anything and pick the phone up myself to call again. After telling them that I was frustrated I told them that I needed them out within a week (due to contraction plans). So of course the second date comes and goes with no show or call. At this point I start bidding the project back out to other companies around town. About a week after all of this they call and set another date. Their crew finally made it out on Friday, August 11. They did a great job once there. Their team worked really hard, they laid down plywood on the lawn to protect it from being torn up, and they even thinned out a bunch of dead privet for a couple of extra bucks. The only downer was that an indian hawthorn bush got uprooted by some of their equipment and ended up killing it. No big loss though. But then I was told that their tree pickup truck was running behind and would be there within a week to get everything. And like a dummy, I believed them. 10 days later I finally send an angry email to them letting them know that I would be happy to wait longer for their tree truck as long as they didn't mind me deducting the cost of new sod from the amount of dead grass that the trees were covering up. So on day 11 their truck finally showed up. Honestly this was a great company that came highly recommended from some friends. But, they are plagued with terrible communication and setting realistic expectations. The amount of money we saved by going with them was not worth the headaches that we got.
