    South Point One
We did a small addition last year but my original contractor did not wrap the soffets. Bo Brewster and South Point One came in and did a fantastic job helping us finish out the siding. He was very easy to communicate with and his rates were very fair and competitive. Bo did everything he promised for the price quoted.

The deck on my house had not been adequately flashed during installation, which allowed water to pool on the deck and rot  the adjacent siding and one of the headers under my bay window.  Gordon Larson came to my house and estimated the work. He was very thorough and accurately assessed the damage and the repairs needed.
Gordon and one other worker came to my house when they were scheduled to and did a great job on the repair work.
I had Gordon estimate a future project, and i would definitely contract Andy OnCall again.

    Punch-List Repairs LLC
The owner of Punch List Repairs Ronald Hydler came out to my house to quote repair work to my house. The work consisted of repairing water damage to my house due to inadequate flashing on my deck. Mr. Hydler mentioned several times to me that he underestmated the distance from his location to my residence, and mentioned that any quote would have to reflect driving time. While I understand this, I did not feel that Mr. Hydler accurately accessed the work to be performed. I say this because I didn't get the feeling that he looked over the project adequately before leaving to work up the quote. I feel, and this is only my opinion, that he was not interested in the work based on the distance that he had to travel. That is fine, and i would have understood a no-quote based on that.
The quote that I got back was $900 more than the next contractor, and the breakdown of the work was not as detailed either. I cannot comment on the quality of the work that Punch-List Repairs performs, as I did not have them provide any services for me. I did use the next contractor and was very satisfied with the price and the work performed.

Antonio was punctual as could be given weather conditions which always affect schedules.  When something came up that was going to cause a delay he would always text me to keep me informed.  His work was quality and performed timely and I will use him again for other projects.

    Deck Works
Exceeded all my expectations!! I had my new lower deck planned out but chose a deck specialist to ensure that I used someone who could envision my dream. Jeff listened to what I wanted and the final deck design he came up with was beyond anything I had imagined. All along the way, if there was more than one way to do things, Jeff consulted with me to get my opinion. However, if I was not sure or could not really decide, I deferred to Jeff and the decisions he made were spot on!

Jeff and all of his workers were polite, considerate of my property, and very conscientious in all of the work performed. My site was cleaned up on Friday even though they were going to come back the next week to finish up several things. Once the final work was done, all of the scrap wood, etc. was cleaned up before they left. The estimate provided was in the middle of several estimates that I had obtained but I was impressed with Jeff's experience and expertise illustrated when he met me to do the estimate and in looking at his portfolio. I was thrilled with the end result and feel that I got my money's worth for all of the work that was done.

Thanks Jeff for a wonderful DECK experience!! We will enjoy the new decks for many years to come!

We got them from Angie’s List; the work went great.  We were happy with them.  They cleaned up the mess and they did not charge too much money.  We plan on using them again in the future.

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!  It hurts me to write this review because I had actually recommended this company to others and a couple of people trusted me and wanted estimates from them.   The sole purpose is to make sure that no one else is deceived by them and ripped off, as I was.  I thought I was being careful and I called the BBB in AL to check their rating. I called and it was an A-, mostly due to the fact that the BBB didn't have that much info on them.  However, I didn't think to check in other states.  After my ordeal, I researched, and found the same company with Jim Christensen as President in OH and the BBB had an F rating for them.  Also, seemingly good, I had also seen the company's address on the internet and it was in Gardendale, AL.  Again, after this ordeal, I further researched and there were 3 addresses in Gardendale for Affiliated Contracting Consultants.  I rode out there and checked the addresses. One was an empty house, one was where Mike Moore and his family lived and where Dane was also living.  The 3rd address was a Care and Rehab Center for the elderly. The internet will show the address is Dean Lane, but I went and talked to the Rehab Center and confirmed with 3 people that the address is 420 Dean Dr.  As far as the work,   I was told that it was a father, son and father-in-law business so I expected 3 people to be working on the deck.   I also saw a Gardendale number listed in an advertisment as Jim's contact number so I assumed that he traveled from OH to AL, depending on where the work was. There were red flags at first because I thought Jim, who had been in business for over 30 years would be the one with all the expertise and I was expecting him to be on the job. When only Dane and Mike showed up, they were so likeable and just as the advertisement said, I was assured that Mike was a Master Builder, (no longer convinced. would like to see credentials) ,and knew what he was doing so I felt everything would be OK.  Everytime I had a question about something, the answer always sounded so good, and I trusted them and would just agree.  We immediately hit it off.  Dane even called me Auntie at times and they kept telling me how it seemed like we had known each other for years and that they felt like I was family, and I sincerely felt the same way.  At first, I bought them at least 4 cartons of their favorite sodas, diet Pepsi and Grapico.  Then when I found out that they loved sweet tea, I made them a gallon of tea every day or 2. I had a never ending supply of snacks for them throughout their time at my house.  Though, they were welcome to come in and out of my house to get tea or other snacks, I also got an ice chest and filled it with ice and drinks and put it on the porch so it would be readily available for them.   I took them out to eat one time. I cooked for them one time.  I sent food home to their families.  When they mentioned that they had to go and rent a pressure washer to do work at their own home,  I volunteered to call my husband and see if they could borrow his shop's pressure washer.  He agreed so we loaned them our pressure washer which they kept for 5 days since they didn't come to work Monday or Tuesday. I could go on and on, but the point is that as nice as I was to them and as much as I trusted them, Affiliated Contracting Consultants, Inc. would have been the last company that I would have ever thought would have scammed me.  So, please, beware and don't think that it can't happen to you.  Please learn from the hardship that they have put on me.   Very long story short, after Dane Christensen and Mike Moore continually spoke of their two year guarantee on all their work and gained my total trust, and based on their own words, convinced me that they wanted our families to get together and remain friends, long after their work was completed, I was absolutely devasated when the totally unexpected, happened.  Within a week of the screened-in deck being completed 4 or 5 screened frames blew out.  Before they were paid, Dane always answered the phone or immediately returned my calls.  However, after they were paid in full, he quit returning my phone calls, and his dad, Jim/James Christensen, who was in OH, got involved, for the first time, and he was the only one that I was allowed to personally, correspond with. Before he intervened, I spoke to Mike Moore, and texted and left voice messages for Dane for probably a couple of weeks.  Dane finally agreed  and put the screens back in and take care of some, (not all), of issues that the building inspector mentioned.  At this time, we spoke of a concern I had since the moment after I wrote the final check.  I was grossly overcharged and I thought it was an honest miscalculation on their part, that they would make right after they realized it.  I totally trusted them and knew they were going to do all the  other repairs on my home so the overpayment could easily be taken care of through labor cost on the other projects.  I told him that if he looked at the original invoice vs. his revised invoice, he would readily see what I was talking about.  Basically, I paid well over $2,000 more than the original invoice stated, for labor only, for them to replace 13 floor joises. I bought all the materials, myself. (pd. over $11,500 in all) Dane told me he didn't have to look at the invoice and that they had plenty of work to do at my house and he would make it right.  It looked as though he was going to do this.  He even ordered the materials, himself to fix my front porch and said that he was going to pay for these materials, when they came in.  Then, we went out of town for a family reunion on August 2 and when we returned home 3 days, later, we never saw or heard from him, again.  He never paid for or picked up the materials for the front porch.  He conveniently is in Chicago doing work, after I was promised that they weren't going anywhere and because they lived only 14 miles away, they could readily, be at my house to take care of any concerns.   To date, there is at least 1 leak in the roof; they still have not put the gutters on the deck which was suppose to be included in the cost; 12 more screens (out of 22) have been blown out and there are many other issues with the deck and many broken promises, not to mention the 2 year guarantee.  I was told by Jim Christensen that Dane was out of pocket and he was calling on his behalf so I was never allowed to talk to Dane. I have spent  over 4 months, going over and beyond, to be patient and to try to believe that Jim, was a person of integrity and that he would do what was right. My last email was from Jim Christensen on 8-10-12 in which he said that he would contact me within 7 days with a resolution for the screens.  I have not heard from anyone, since.  He seemed to have been just trying to buy time, leading me on like he was going to do something, and hoping I would disappear. I still have tornado damage to be repaired and I have had to put that on hold to deal with this.  There were so many compassionate people who came around after the tornado. It is sad to see that others have no remorse when they take advantage of someone else's misfortune.   For people who have gotten ripped off, know that you should file a complaint with the BBB, in various states, if applicable; file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and Chamber of Commerce; give negative reviews everywhere you can, not to be vengeful, but to alert others in order to save them the grief that the victim goes through; call your local television stations and utilize their resources.  In Alabama, that would be 6 on your side.  Get an attorney, if you can and don't just go away. That is what they are hoping you will do and that is how we allow them to continue to rip off innocent people. . There are other things I could go into, but my goal is not to hurt or destroy, anyone; I just want the company to take responsibility and do the right thing.  I would love to be able to come back and say that things have been taken care of and all is forgiven.   I regret having to even write this review.  I really considered these people my friends and it brings me no satisfaction in having to do this, except that I may prevent someone else from getting ripped off.  Remember company names, come and go and emerge as other names, so it's the names associated with this company that you need to remember; Jim/James  L. Christensen from West Chester,OH; Dane Christensen and Mike Moore, Glen Chapel in G'dale.  To the best of my knowledge, Jim is mentioned in AL, FL, GA, OH, KY and other states, which I would not have used them if I had known that.  It was very important to me to get a company that I absolutely knew was located in AL and licensed in AL because I wanted to make sure the company was local and reputable and was going to be around in case problems, arose.  The tornado victims were actually warned about people who went from state to state following the storms and tornados, and taking advantage of the unfortunate victims, literally kicking them again, when they were already down.  We were told by our advocates, to make sure that the truck had their advertisement on it and to look on the back of the truck for a state number which would insure you that they were licensed by the state.  I let my heart get in the way and I did not even look at their back bumper. I highly recommend that you let no company look at your insurance estimate, in case of a national disaster.  A reputable company has their own method of determining costs for a job.  If they say that they have to see your insurance estimate in order to know how much they will charge; I promise you, they do not have your best interest in mind.  They are most likely trying to make money off of you and your insurance company. Believe me, they use their expertise and our lack of knowledge to lighten the load in your pocketbook, not to help you.  Sad world we live in.

We usually use them and are very happy with what they do. We have had them do many things including tearing down a deck and rebuilding it. They also have installed lights. We keep calling them back because they are very good and we have never been disappointed with anything they had done. Their prices are reasonable.

    GT General Contractor
George was absolutely fantastic throughout our long distance remodel. We were remodeling a home in the Montclair hills of Oakland but work out of Los Angeles. We needed a contractor we could trust to perform quality work, on time, and with virtually no supervision. George was able to handle all of the local pickups of materials and custom touches (including traveling to every tile store in town to find the exact entry way tile we wanted and having a custom counter-top shop exactly match our existing granite counter-tops for a small new section of counter-top), he called daily with updates on the progress, and even emailed us pictures of different tiles so we could select from Los Angeles. George handled absolutely everything and really went above and beyond a contractors normal responsibilities on a home remodel - we simply couldn't have completed the scope of work in the limited time we had while in Los Angeles without a great contractor like George who really bent over backwards to complete the work. Best of all George is the kind of contractor that is always on site and working, he won't hand down some orders and disappear all day on you - and he always answered his phone.

All of the materials on the work site were kept organized. They did not take any short cuts and used the best methods. All of my concerns relative to connecting to the house and other structural concerns were addressed, usually before I mentioned them. Workers were very pleasant and extremely professional. They cleaned the site regularly and left the site cleaner than when they arrived.
