Spring was quickly replaced, and the door and opener were inspected and routine maintenance performed at no additional cost. The two gentlemen were very courteous and professional.     The service technician was fantastic! He called before he came, was on time, polite, and very professional. He advised me of what needed to be done to repair my garage doors and quoted me a price before he began the work.
    He even came back a few days after the service call to replace a wall button for the garage door that he had noticed was not correct and didn't charge me for it. Great customer service!
    He did an outstanding job and I will definitely use Precision Door again when my garage doors need maintenance! I would highly recommend them!

    Follow-up to initial review below:  After the tech left on 11/13 he immediately contacted his supervisor, Mr. Jon Russell with regard to our problems. Mr. Russell contacted up via email that evening. It took a few days (delayed on my side) but Mr. Russell and I caught up via phone. He was very apologetic, and determined to make things right.  The short version is they had someone drop the ball on communications with customers coming from Angie's List, which they immediately fixed as soon as they were made aware if it. He is an excellent spokesperson for the company, and you can tell he truly believes in doing what's right to maintain the company's reputation. He offered an excellent discount on the repairs needed to our garage doors to make up for the initial problems. And in no way did he pressure me to accept the deal as 'now or never' but left it open ended, we could accept it at any time in the future. A few weeks later, I contacted Mr. Russell again to accept his offer, and set an appointment. On appointment day, the tech called to check in before arriving. He showed up, did all the work to our garage door, and handled everything professionally. After ALL they did to rectify our original issues, I would not have a problem referring them to others. 

    Original Service Date: 11/13/15 - An inspection of the mechanics (rollers, spring, etc.) of the garage door; sprayed lubricant on the hinges & rollers; tried to sell us several 'packages' to replace all rollers and the single spring with a double.

    Initial Review: Not well at all.  After purchasing the $29 Garage door tune-up on 10/30/15, we were contacted (on 11/11/15 11:19 AM) by Soni Frazier -via Angie's List Message system - with several dates that they had appointments available.  I responded later that day at 10:16 PM, requesting an appointment for 11/13 at 4 PM or later, if available. I received no response. On 11/13 at 10:09 AM, I again sent a message-reply asking for a reply from Soni, but received nothing in response.
    Around 4:10 PM or so, a technician showed up at our home. He had tried to call the number he was given by his office, but it was a made-up phone number - not ours. We did go ahead and have the technician do the inspection, which only took about 3 minutes. He then tried to hard sell several 'package' options (running approx. $300-$500) for replacing the rollers, and the single spring with a double springs, saying that  the company did not allow them to do single spring replacements. At this time, we opted NOT to have him do any repair work. Between the lack of communication in handling setting an appointment, and the hard sell on repairs (that may or may not actually be needed,) we let him know we would likely get other bids from other companies before proceeding. He finished up by spraying some lubricant on the hinges and rollers. He knew we were quite unhappy how things had been handled, and he said he would make sure to get with his boss.  
    Surprisingly, after looking a little closer at the Angie's List information on Precision Door Service, I found they actually offer through Angie's List, a deal for a single spring replacement for $200. Another reviewer also mentioned upon buying the single spring offer through Angie's List, he was given the hard sell by the technician to go with a double spring. So apparently this technician is either unaware that the company does allow single spring replacements, or has been told to upsell to double spring replacements by saying they don't do single springs anymore.
    At this point, I can't say that I would either use or recommend this company, based on the epic fail today. If anything changes in that regard, I will update this review.

    Was out less than 48 hours after I bought the package (just make sure to call to schedule it - not wait for them to call you!) and had the spring replaced in less than an hour. The only thing I didn't like was how his "advice/recommendations" from the "inspection" quickly turned into a "hard sell" pitch.  We didn't buy anything additional, but we would have had a much higher expenditure had we gone with his recommendations. We've had our garage door since the house was built 15 years ago and the single spring and rollers have lasted this long. I figure if I get 15 years from an even better quality spring (so they claim) it will be worth it! No reason to upgrade to the double springs pre-maturely. As for the rollers, why upgrade when they haven't been an issue thus far?
    Overall, good service, very timely, just know what you need done and if you are willing to have add-on services prior to them coming out.

    Our garage door came with the house and is 22 years old.  On a Friday evening, the cable on the left side of the garage door snapped and the roller on the right bottom came off the track.  I called Saturday morning and an individual with the company took my information.  By Monday afternoon, the cable had been replaced, the tech tested the door and all seemed in working order.  About 3 or 4 weeks later, the cable on the left side of the door came undone from the drum and the bottom roller on the right side came off the tract.  I was leaving the house when this happened and called Overhead Door to explain what had happened.  Within an hour of my call, a tech pulled into my driveway, fixed the issue with the cable, and had the roller back on the track.  He then spent time raising and lowering the door to assess why nearly the same issue had occurred in such a short period of time.  He was able to  determine that the bottom roller on the right side was not moving properly and replaced that roller.  The tech apologized that they had missed that issue when they had tested the door the first time.  He said the issue should have been caught at the time of the initial problem and that there would be no charge for that service.  I've never paid a lot of attention to garage doors, other than to keep them lubricated and to keep the tracks lubricated.  I honestly thought that it was possible the garage door might be in need of being replaced when the second incident happened. At the least, I had expected a bill for that second service call.  II was pleasantly surprised when I was told that there would be no bill.  The company felt the tech should have found the problem during the testing of the garage door during the initial visit.  So, rather than being given a bill, I was given an apology.  That was totally unexpected.  When things that are suppose to work perfectly all the time don't, you find out how important it is have a company you know you can contact that will respond quickly, and strives to give you the right fix to alleviate your problem.  And, should they miss something, they never hesitate to return, reassess the problem, and apply the proper fix.

    My garage door opened with a great deal of shaking and noise, after we bought our house.
    Decatur Door Service offered an Angie's List 'Big Deal' for a garage door 'tuneup'. We took the offer.
    DDS showed up promptly, discovered the problem (worn rollers), and made the repairs as offered.
    They also checked for other problems, found them, and offered some additional services (new remote controllers) at a fair price.
    Overall it went great - our garage door now works perfectly, with a minimum of trouble and at a good price.

    Great overall. Responded to service schedule request promptly and were able to make the service call within 2 days. Worked quickly; answered all questions; did a little extra work on the garage door seal (which was not part of the tune-up checklist). Replaced rollers with nice, quieter version so garage door is working better than before. I would use this Service in the future if needed.

    I had a list and Eric was great!  He just started on it and kept going!  He was very patient with me and the madhouse that was my home that day.
     A couple of days later, there was an issue with a hole that a plumber had drilled through my outer wall.  Eric went to my house, in the rain, and sealed it off!  He was wonderful!
