I have been a patient for many years and see him every 6 months for my condition.  Courteous.  Helpful, Knowledgeable, Friendly.  Gadsden is blessed to have Dr. K.J. Shah as one of our doctors!  I would recommend him to all family and friends.  He takes care of  his patients.

He is genuine, caring, kind and knowledgeable. He is an unbelievably wonderful doctor. My overall experience with him has been good.

He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered in my life, and I work in the medical field. If me or any of my family were on their death beds, I would want him on their bedside. In fact my father passed away in October and Dr. Patel was right there with us through the whole thing. Even afterward he came to the funeral and my families home. He doesn't do that for all of his patients but like I said I have never met a more compassionate or even a smarter doctor.

My husband went to see Dr. Shah as a result of a "dark spot" on his lung that was discovered during an x-ray to check the growth of an aneurysm. We were seen promptly, within 10 minutes of appointment time. Once Dr. Shah came in the room the first thing did was ask how my husband felt. My husband is a joker, so he said "I must not be too good because I'm at the Dr." Dr. Shah responded snippily that he needed to answer the question that was asked. So hubby cut out the cute answers. My husband and I own a tattoo shop so he has quite a few visible tattoos. Dr. Shah proceeded to ask my husband if he thought he was better than God, did he think he was smarter than God, well he must think he knows better than God because God didn't put those tattoos on his body. This denigration went on for several minutes. After the haranguing about the tattoos, Dr. Shah said the only option to find out if it was an infection or tumor was for my husband to have a broncoscopy, a invasive procedure involving anesthesia. After the way Dr. Shah spoke to my husband, and after speaking with our internist and cardiothoracic surgeon regarding the risks of the broncoscopy, we canceled the procedure. A week later my husband was hospitalized for asthma and pneumonia and was given iv antibiotics and the next time x-rays were taken, the "dark spot" was gone. Later a different pulmonologist, who also reviewed the original x-ray, said that given the other symptoms my husband was displaying he would have treated with strong antibiotics and a follow up x-ray before resorting to a potentially dangerous invasive procedure. I just think that Dr. Shah wanted to either "punish" my husband for having tattoos or was more interested in billing the insurance company for a procedure that was more expensive than writing a prescription.
