Hospital Care reviews in Smiths Station

  • Note that this was close to shift change. Male nurse did the EKG. Did not introduce himself. Very nice, professional. Said EKG looked good. I think he must have shown it to a doctor (hope he did), then returned and sent me to the triage area for vital signs and brief history, then to the waiting area. After a half hour or so I was called by a young man to fully register. He did not introduce himself. I found it very unprofessional for him to be popping his gum while interviewing me. I waited for about two more hours, then went to a private room escorted by a female. Don't know her actual job because it was not LPN or RN. She did not introduce herself. Kind of a Jack of all trades type. Very nice and efficient. Got me in a gown, hooked up to monitors, took blood - great job with that. Doctor came, introduced himself, and talked with me for a bit. Very young, seemed rushed, not so great bedside manner, but professional. Explained the tests, etc. My nurse was very nice and professional, but she did not introduce herself. Transportation person MONICA was extremely kind and efficient! She took me for a CT and then back to ER. There were two females in CT room. Neither one introduced herself but they were both very nice. One of them should have warned me about what to expect after the iodine was injected!! MONICA was the only one except the doctor who actually introduced herself to me, and I remember having contact with at least nine people! This is not difficult. It's common courtesy, people! After all the tests, doctor then sent me home with referrals for follow-up. I was there for approximately six hours. Not too bad for a Friday night. I am an RN, new to the area. This is the only hospital in the area I have used. I do feel that my medical treatment was good and appropriate, but I was a bit disappointed in the "customer service" aspects of my care. I may or may not return.
