General Contracting reviews in Scottsboro

    Window World Inc

We signed a contract with the Window World salesman on 21 November 2012 for 24 windows, a storm door, and 5 or 6 sets of vinyl shutters. We made a $2000.00 down payment plus the full purchase price for one window that was accidentally left off the contract. This was so the contract would not have to be re-written that same day. We were told to anticipate start of installation after the first of the year, given it was the holiday timeframe - not an issue.  We were contacted by the business office requesting approval to submit charges to Wells Fargo the second week in January stating that it usually takes 3 weeks for that to process and our install should be complete by then. The charge hit Wells Fargo a week later, on 23 January. Initial window install began on 19 January 2013. The 14 foot picture window arrived and was installed broken. We were told it would take 2 weeks to get a replacement. No issue until a month had gone by and we had heard nothing from them, nor had we received any response to messages we left. I finally left a voicemail myself stating I was very dissatisfied with customer service and that if I did not recieve a return call by COB the next day, my next call would be to the BBB, Good Houskeeping seal of approval, and anyone else they claim found them to be an A+ company. I received that call, and a second call. I was told the replacement window was there and they would bring it out the  next week, which they did .. then we repeated scenario #1 .. the window was received and installed broken yet again. We finally received a whole new window unit, which did arrive unbroken and was installed the end of March.
As for the $500.00 premium storm door .. Almost 6 months later it is still NOT complete. The original install crew cut the door wrong. There have been 3 additional attempts to "make it right" .. to no avail. The last guy who came out about 3+ weeks ago told us the bottom panel need to be replaced. That was the same thing we'd been told twice before; I guess they simply don't communicate with each other. It is never the same person who comes out, which is why they can claim, "well nobody told me I needed to bring that with me."
As for the shutters .. Initial installation was complete and there have been no further issues with them.
