ASouthFace Renovations LLC.A prior owner had regrettably painted perfectly good exterior brick with white latex paint. I contacted multiple contractors who declined to take the job and spent many weekends and weeknights trying to get the paint off myself. SouthFace removed the paint in a few weeks with minimal roughening of a small portion of the underlying brick and mortar. The brick looks great again.- Andrew M.

He priced out the carpentry repairs separately from the painting work to be done, and he recommended a great exterior paint that protects against moisture. Once we accepted his estimate, he did the carpentry work and the preparatory cleaning / power wash in advance so that the painting work could be done smoothly without starts and stops. Once they got started with the painting, the workmanship of his team was just as excellent as the planning had been. Care was taken to get no paint on the brick or the glass areas. The painting was brushed well and smoothly leaving a creamy even texture when finished. The work was done well within time and cost estimates I was very pleased with their planning, workmanship, cost, and attention to safety. I would definitely hire J Howard painting again.- Jack L.

AWhaleys Essential Pressure WashingI emailed Whaley’s one night around midnight requesting an estimate, obviously expecting to get a phone call the following morning. However, Justin returned my call within 5 minutes and set up an estimate for 8 o’clock that morning. Justin was prompt and very professional. He gave me an estimate for much less than we expected and said he could come perform the pressure washing we requested in 2 days. Justin returned as promised and worked from 8 that morning until 5 that afternoon. A couple of my neighbors watched him work all day and said he was the hardest worker they had ever seen. The project exceeded our expectations all the way from start to finish. Justin could not have been any nicer which made the experience even better.- Steve T.

DAJ’s Seasonal Lawn agreed to do perform the following services on my rental property: 1. Trim 6 shrubs 2. Remove weeds form 2 flower beds 3. Install weed barrier in 2 flower beds 4. Plant 5 new shrubs 5. Sperate lawn and one bed with a shallow trench 6. Apply bark in 3 beds 7. Remove white rock from side of house 8. Plant pansies in 2 beds AJ’s quoted a cost of $925. I asked for, but was not given, a written quote. The work was done on 10/25/20. AJ’s presented me an invoice for $1,150 on 10/26/20.There was no mention of, nor agreement to, add $225 to the original cost. I disputed the cost but paid it. I inspected the work on 11/13/20. Some work was not done, or needs to be redone: 1. Remove bark and barrier 2. Spray/remove weeds 3. Properly install heavy duty barrier 4. Put bark back in beds 5. Make a trench to separate a bed from the lawn 6. Plant pansies in two beds 7. Retrim 2 shrubs 8. Put bark in bed by curb 9. Remove white rocks In my opinion, AJ’s owes me a refund for the $225 overcharge and a refund for a reasonable amount to have another company redo the work AJ’s was hired to in a workmanship manner that reflects the experience he claimed.

AExcellent! Jonathan and Jacob (and team) met with me, listened to what I wanted (a low maintenance plan) and within a few days, presented a drawing and fair estimate. Geneva Jones at Crawford's Nursery (my favorite designer and plant wholesaler) helped me fine tune their plan. Crawford's pulled everything together for the JG team to pick up a few days later (plants, topsoil, mulch, landscaping fabric, steel edging) and the entire project was completed in 2 days! The strip looks wonderful and these guys were great to work with (they're already starting on a plan for my next project.) They're the best team I've had in the past 15 years and highly recommend them.

AIt helped save my life. I recently lost my Husband and his income. My air conditioner went out. My Windows are painted shut. So I thought about adding screens to the burglar iron doors. My Husband was the epitome of a Handyman. With him suddenly and unexpectedly dead and his income too, I felt helpless but not hopeless. I put a request in on Angie’s list. Got four calls. One couldn’t help. One I couldn’t afford. One kept promising to come but did not. But “Handyman” Bidwell Company made and kept an appointment with me, accessed the job, went and priced the cost, provided a reasonable cost that I could afford, accepted the job, made the frame and screens. Today I opened both the front porch and side Carport doors and let God’s breeze of fresh air circulate my lungs and my home, I feel pleased and wonderfully blessed to be able to breathe in my home especially since I suffer from acute asthma.
