    Inverness Family Dentistry
Dr. Chris Buczek has been my dentist at this location, and he is excellent with everything. He is punctual, kind, communicates the issues/solutions very thoroughly, and does an excellent job with any procedure. I would recommend him to anyone. All the oral hygienists do a very good job as well.

    Hazouri III, Dr. David N.
I have been seeing him for about seven years. I have not had any problems with scheduling. The whole office is great! I like the fact that he has a conservative nature. He will not push any unnecessary work.

    Wood And Spooner
It was fine the last time. They're friendly, courteous and professional. The location is far from me but that's okay. I would recommend them to a friend because they don't hurt me. They just do really good work. They're very meticulous about their work.

    Christopher Rothman DDS
Dr. Rothman's bedside manner was excellent; I didn't feel hurried and he readily answered all of my questions. Most importantly, the evening after my tooth extraction, at around 7:30 PM, I received a call from the doctor asking me how I was feeling and how I was doing. In my 37 years, I've never experienced a doctor that showed this much concern and care for his/her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Rothman and the Alabama Oral and Facial Surgery office.

    Turner, Dr. Russell

I love Dr. Russell, his staff, the office environment and the way they do their business. I have had unpleasant experiences in the past with a dentist and I have had wonderful care from a dentist. Dr. Russell and his team are super! They are sensitive to special needs. They are very accommodating too!

I highly recommend Dr. Russell and his team!

    Turner, Dr. Russell
He is wonderful. I like his skills, his personality, and his staff. The staff is good. Everything about his staff is good including the things that they do, how they do and how they treat the patients. The office looks like a nice dentist's office. It has a nice waiting room and the place where the receptionist is. There are different treatment rooms. It is nice and clean. It is neat and comfortable. I like everything about him from cleaning to bleeding teeth to minor gum problems, and a major problem where he referred me to an oral surgeon who was really good. I thought he took care of the problem really well. He continued to see me after that. I thought it was all really good.

    Schott, Dr. Mark D
I have been to Dr. Schotts office for preventative work and crowns. They always take me to see the doctor or hygienist at the scheduled appointment time, and are ready to work on patients as soon as you arrive. (At ANOTHER dentists office I had to wait 30 minutes in waiting room and then one hour in chair before I left ). I am so happy to find Dr Schott's office. I am relatively new to New Orleans, and Dr Schott is the third dentist I have tried.
When they finish, they give very clear instructions to the care for my dental work, they have completed. My dad was a dentist, so I have always had and quot;preferred dental careand quot;. Dr Schott gave me the care I have been accustomed to receiving.
I can and have recommended Dr. Schott to others.

I love dr weiss and his hygienists, they are all very sweet and thorough! Even though they are sorta out of my way, I continue to make the drive! They are also very good about being up front with cost, how to make it affordable and never push unnecessary procedures

    Shepherd, Dr. David J.
    In 2011(I don't remember the actual date), I went to Dr. Shepherd to get my teeth cleaned and a normal checkup. The cleaning was okay, though the young girl seemed inexperienced and not very knowledgeable. Oh well, it was just a cleaning. During the checkup, they found a chipped molar, and it had decay close to the nerve. Dr. Shepherd recommended... Wait, it was more like he said, and quot;Get back in here as soon as possible so we can fix that.and quot; That really was about all he said. No discussion of options or anything. I thought to myself, and quot;Okay, he is the dentist, not me.and quot;
I go back in as soon as I could, and the first thing they do is make a and quot;formand quot; of my tooth for the eventual crown. Well, the tooth was chipped, so the lady (maybe an assistant, I don't know) had to form some of it herself. At the same time, she was training another lady and was showing her how to do it. I could tell she was not paying close attention to what she was doing, and I was hoping she would get it right. After that, they numb me up and get to work. After he finishes, he says, and quot; That was really close to the nerve, but I think we got it in time.and quot; They put a temporary crown on, and I'm on my way. Hours later, I regain feeling, and I go to eat something on the other side of my mouth. I bite down and experience sharp pain in the tooth they did work on. VERY sharp pain. I thought to myself, and quot;Oh no, it was too close to the nerve, and now I'll probably have to get a root canal.and quot; I call them back and tell them the problem, and they say I need to come back in for a root canal. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy, but I had to fix the problem. I schedule the root canal.
I go in for the root canal, and it went okay. I suppose it went about as good as a root canal could go, all things considered. They finish up and put the temporary crown on. At this point, as some of you might know, they ask you to bite down and tell them if it feels okay. However, my mouth is extremely numb, and it's very hard to tell if it's set right. I tried to make sure it was set right before I left. I leave and the rest of the day I didn't do much because of the numbness and then pain. The next day I noticed the temporary crown was not set right, because when I bit down, I was hitting the crown while the teeth on the other side of my mouth did not touch. This was a Friday, and I was having to drive out of state for work. I knew this was not good, so I called them and told them the new problem. They said, and quot;We won't be open until Monday. Just try not to bite down too much.and quot; I thought to myself, and quot; What if I end up grinding my teeth while I'm sleeping?!and quot; I was starting to become really frustrated with these people. It doesn't take long to go in and have them set the crown right, but they didn't even offer to do it until they were open 3 days later. I was ready to complain about everything they had done up to that point and be done with them, but I knew I still had to get the permanent crown put on.
3 days later on Monday I go in for them to fix the temporary crown and set it right. Though I was steaming inside, I didn't feel like starting any more trouble than what I'd already been through. They finally set the crown correctly and tell me to come back when the permanent crown is ready.
I go back in to get the permanent crown put on (I've lost count how many times I've been back by now, all while having to work it in around a full-time job). They prepare everything and put it on. Dr. Shepherd asks, and quot;Bite down. How does it feel?and quot; I say, and quot;Awful.and quot; He starts grinding the crown and says, and quot; How about now?and quot; I say, and quot;Nope.and quot; Rinse and repeat. It seemed like he was grinding away the whole crown just to get my bite correct. He finally got it to where I could bite down and all my teeth touch. I go home and look in the mirror and notice the tooth looks... flat. Not like it should look. Where other teeth have peaks and valleys, this tooth was a plain. I didn't know whether to attribute it to the lady who made the form or Dr. Shepherd who grinded away at it. I chose both. Either way, the bite was okay, and the whole ordeal was finally over. However, there is a final thing to add.
At the time, I had dental insurance. The checkup and cleaning did not cost me out of pocket. For the other procedures, my insurance paid a little of the first procedure (the filling) and a lot of the second procedure (the root canal). The filling ended up costing me a lot more than the root canal. However, even though Dr. Shepherd should have only done the root canal and not the filling, I had to pay for both. Technically, it was his mistake. He never gave me options, and he chose the wrong option himself. Had he told me how close the cavity was to the nerve and I knew the root canal would have cost me less money, I would have told him to just do the root canal and skip the filling, but I was never given the option. Communication about the issue (how close the cavity was to the nerve) was next to nothing, and this ended up causing me a lot of trouble.
I will never go back to Dr. Shepherd, I will never recommend him to anyone, and I will gladly let anyone know my experiences with him and his staff.

    Birmingham Family Dental Services LLC
It was absolutely the best dental experience you could ask for. I was
seen almost immediately even though I was a new patient walking in with
no appointment. The office staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The hygienists were efficient, explained everything in depth so I could
understand despite not having any knowledge about dental surgery, and
made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Swicord was
compassionate and patient with me, ensured I was totally numb before
doing anything, and performed the procedure quickly while explaining
what he was doing the entire time. He explained what I could expect
after the surgery and what signs and symptoms to report, and was polite
and professional the entire time. Discharge took less than 2 minutes
and was as easy as check in. Ever since then I have been going to
Birmingham Family Dental services for all my dental services, and have since had numerous
additional dental procedures done to fix what my first dentist botched. Each time has been consistently as pleasant as the first with each dentist I saw on subsequent visits. I will never go anywhere else, and their new facility is easily accessible with good parking and accessibility.
