    Creative Gardening
We became overwhelmed with an out of control yard when my husband started working 60+ hours a week in the spring. By late summer I knew we had to hirehelp. The beds were filled with fallen tree limbs, twigs, and old leaves; the pine straw we put out the previous summer was all matted down, and our bushes were overgrown & had completely lost their shape. Thats when I called Creative Gardening! From the moment I called until the last worker left when the job was complete, I couldnt imagine a more professional company! They arrived right when they said they would, and stuck with the job until everything was done to our satisfaction. It was so nice to see the yard transformed in such an efficient manner! They pruned and shaped every bush in the yard, cleaned out every bed, and added more pine straw than Id ever seen! When they left every area worked in was clean & tidy, with all the debris hauled away! We could not have been more pleased! This not the first time we have used Creative Gardening, and it will most certainly not be our last! We first discoved them via Angies List and were impressed with their reviews. I then asked an un-related landscape designer we were working with for a recommendation, and Creative Gardening was first on her list! They are not the least expensive company, but youd be hard pressed to find a less costly one that can match their expertise, skill & professionalism! I highly recommend Creative Gardening; and have complete confidence they will get any landscape related job done right!

    Largen Irrigation Inc
I usually write reviews for exceptional or terrible contractors. I've used Angies frequently and have had pretty good luck. However, this one definitely falls into the "terrible" category. All we wanted was routine cut, trim, and weed control. I had a 6 yr lawn contractor in Texas who was wonderful: honest, reasonable priced, and quickly addressed work not meeting standards. Largen not only damaged various fence posts on the 1st visit but did not even confess. I was home unpacking and you would think the guys would have knocked on the door to inform me of the damage. When I contacted the coordinator, James Cooper, he asked me "did you see them?". We emailed pics and the response was "Oh, all you need is a little paint." Strike 1. The owner came out and spoke of customer service, reputation, etc. But little changed. I had to continually call to see when the lawn was being done or the fence posts were to be repaired ccing the owner all along. Strike 2. In addition, they damage my sprinkler pipe as they were working on the neighborhood clubhouse irrigation flooding the gate side of my home. Not even an apology. Meanwhile, my water bill was going thru the roof. Strike 3. Summary: It took 2 mos to address the sprinkler and repair the fence posts. I sent my utility bill to Largen because of the high high water usage for account credit. For the second mo's utility bill, I received an email saying my lawn was no longer being serviced due to workforce reduction. So much for customer service and business ethics. Sad, when the customer has to stay on top of the provider. Plenty of good contractors out there. Pass on this one quick....

    Five Star Lawn and Landscaping
They were timely and the work looked fairly nice initially. Unfortunately plants started dying, the big ones started leaning over and then several died. When we called Five Star (Todd Groce) they said they did not warranty their work (the plants). This work was very expensive for the limited follow-up/support after the job was done.

    Butler Services
I called Tracy Butler, owner and operator of Butler Services, and spoke with him on Monday about his company's ability to perform the service I wanted on short notice, and a rough estimate.  Despite being busy when he answered my call, he took the time to view my home on Google Maps Street View to provide a cost estimate, and he reviewed his crew's schedule to offer a time period the next afternoon to perform the work.
Late on Tuesday morning I called Tracy again.  He took my call while out on a job.  He patiently answered follow-up questions I posed.  Later in the early afternoon, the approximate time at which he'd promised to have his work crew at my home, he text messaged me to inform me they were on the way.
While at my home his crew was courteous, professional, swift and effective.
    Overall, Butler Services performed superbly.

    Alabama Turf Management LLC
Along with my weed control and fertilization program I asked Thad if he would clean my beds out, prune my shrubs and put mulch down. He gave me suggestions on how the shrubs should be shaped up and what type of mulch to put down. He came out and completed everything and my house is the talk of the neighborhood!! The mulch he picked makes my house stand out. I am so impressed with his services and would recommend him to anyone that asks. I am a very happy customer.

    Dale Webster's Landscaping & Drainage
Mr. Webster did such a wonderful job. And even though he had a huge job to do he always had time to stop and talk and explain everything to me. He and his son worked thorugh some terrible weather -- some of the coldest we have seen in a very long time (December 29 thrugh January 10 2014 -- snow, ice, rain, and more rain).
He alwasy presented me with several solutions -- cheapist, not to elaborate, and fancy. He found every way he could to ensure my project was completed to a very high standard without costing a fortune.
The finished project was beautiful. To solve my probem he created a small hill behind my fountain and filled it in with lovely stones. Planted trees and ground cover to protect against soil errosion. To force the water away from my house and back out into the street to the storm drain he created dry creek beds with river stones and small paths to cross back over to the pond with flat stones -- not just laid out as a walk way but artfuly placed to create eye catching designs.
Yes I paid $6,000 to fix my drainage problem -- but instead of a gravel filled trench which is what most suggested a French Drain they called it, I got the problem solved and yard that is beautiful and inviting.
I appreciated his hard work, his honesty, and his willinegness to take time and explain things to me. I should point out I am a lady, senior citizen, lving on my own and he could have just dimssed me at hand as so many of the companies I called for suggestions to fix my problem.
Before Mr. Webster came to my rescue I could not go in the back yard due to the mud now I can't stay out of it because it is so beautiful.
If you are having a drainage problems, need a landscaper, please give him a call -- you will be glad you did.

    Valley Landscaping & Maintenance Inc.
I just used them 3 or 4 times when my husband was ill. I found them here at my neighbors. They did a good job, they were professional, and it looked good, and that was important. They cut it to the right height, and they were very neat, they trimmed straight along the driveway. They were prompt and they came when called. I used them for about 3 months in the summer. The same people came out every time. I will probably use them again this summer.

    TruGreen
I have never done business with any company like this. My yard looked much worse than before I began using their "services." This went on for two years.  I gave them ample opportunity more than once to correct things.  My lawn became mostly weeds. They killed my grass, broke my main water line and flooded my front yard; They left me to deal with repairmen and left  seed so I could apply it after my lawn was turned into a mud bog!  For this I pay a company?!  They ignored all requests to have my yard smoothed of the holes, ruts and ridges left from all the flooding and digging. They don't care! No one will even talk to me or respond to e-mails or letters, including the employee who is supposed to be handling my account, the general manager in Huntsville and the company's CEO.  They will not provide an accounting of charges on account. They come and "provide services" after a customer has terminated all services with them and try to charge for them.  They will tell you they have cancelled a service plan, but one finds out later it was never cancelled, despite written notification to do so.  They returned to one neighbor's who had fired them and had a new lawn put in, and over-seeded with a different type grass.  Their own technicians tell customers all the good employees have left and "no one knows what they are doing."  There are well over 800 such complaints on line.  How do they stay in business?! Apparently at one time they were a good company, but have been bought out/merged with Service Master and a group of companies, and things are not good.  They seem to be best at selling, but service is another matter entirely.  This is so unprofessional and rude, a huge waste of my time and money. Not only is their lawn care service very poor, but customer service is non-existent.

    Forevergreen

We have used Forevergreen for several projects during the last year as well as for overall lawncare. We have been exceptionally pleased with the job they have done.
About a year ago we started a lawn care contract with Forevergreen and have not been disappointed. We pay a set monthly fee which includes cutting, edging, blowing, fertilizing, bed maintenance, shrub trimming, mulching and leaf removal. It cost about the same amount I was already paying separately to different providers.
Forevergreen has also built a decorative retaining wall and resodded our yard and replaced some shrubbery. We have been very happy with the work and work ethic. The owner has a degree in Agronomy and is very knowledgeable and easily offers constructive ideas.
