Luxury Bath & Kitchens
I found Luxury Kitchen and Bath, through Angie's List. I own a home in Pennsylvania, but live 800 miles away. I needed a contractor who would give me an honest estimate, a realistic time frame, and a reliable contractor. Illia was straightforward, and gave completed the bathroom remodeling in 2 days!!!!!

Complete Home Improvements
Justin Mooneyhan just completed remodeling my Dad's bathroom tub/shower enclosure to a tiled walkin shower with grab bars and sliding shower head and wand. He did a superior job! Not only does it look fabulous, he really did a first rate job. I'm very confident that he really knows his business and knows it well. I wish I had known about him a year ago when I had a different bath done, because it isn't nearly up to Justin's standards. He does what he says he's going to do and goes the extra mile to please his client. Thank you, Justin!

Precision Enterprise
We scheduled the work to be performed on May 31. The vendor had an emergency and came the next day. The installer surveyed the work to be done and told us he would be back in an hour with material. Later in the day we were informed that the installer would not be returning and that the vendor would not be honoring the deal. The vendor simply upped and left us hanging for nearly two days.

One of the biggest problems in dealing with the vendor is communication. Calls go to voice mail suggesting that you text. The response times are erratic. When I requested call back, the vendor would be unresponsive. Text messages would be cryptic and not useful for closing the loop on communication.

First the vendor insisted that no material was included in terms of tile. Since we wanted choose our own backsplash we agreed to purchasing the material ourselves which took some time. We thought we will work on the allowance for new tile later with the vendor.

We finally scheduled the installation. The vendor never came to do a measurement or to ensure that the new backsplash material was adequate or in general to survey the work involved. On the scheduled day, the vendor texted that an emergency had come up and the installation had to be rescheduled. Again through text, we were informed that he would come the next day for the install.

The installer come the next day, I showed him the details of the deal, he looked at the material. He informed that he would have to take down the old backsplash and install new drywall and then install the new backsplash - all of which were listed as included in the deal. He told me that he would be back with the required material - for drywall. The vendor then texted me that after surveying the work, he would not be doing the work unless Angie's list paid him more. His worker never showed up, I wasted half a day going back forth with texts and he did not call back despite my requests to have a conversation. The vendor insisted that the Angie's list purchase was just for installation and that no demolition work or drywall work was part of the purchase. I got in touch with Angie's list and they informed me that the vendor was not going to honor the deal.

Bottom line from the experience.

The vendor does not communicate well and does not want to talk to work through the details making it possible for unexpected issues to come up.

Even though he sold a deal through Angie's List, refused to honor the deal.

Is unprofessional in that he did not do an assessment of the work, did not inform us directly that he would not be doing the work, inconvenienced us for two days where we could not use the kitchen, simply upped and left leaving us hanging for nearly a day.

If Its Wood Cabinetry, Granite & Tile, LLC

The final thing he did was seal the granite. As he began to seal it I told him that the counter was still dusty and needed to be cleaned before sealing. He said that was fine and it would disappear when he applied the spray sealer.
After a discussion about what we would pay him, my husband refused to pay the entire bill. Chuck became very angry.
Before he left, I checked the sink that he had re-installed and I informed Chuck that the sink was still leaking. He checked it and said it was because our faucet was broken and he was not responsible for that. He installed the faucet. It was not broken before installation. As soon as he left, I noticed that the dust and swirl marks on the granite countertop did not disappear, they are sealed into the granite. My husband went straight to the bank to stop payment on his check, but he beat us to the bank and the check cleared.
I had to call a plumber who thankfully was able to come the next day. The plumbing for the sink is not to code, the faucet has to be replaced and the pipes are leaking in three places. The faucet was missing parts. The dishwasher backed up into the sink and the disposal backed up into the other side of the sink. The plumber told me not to use the dishwasher until he could get back to fix it because of the danger of contamination due to the improper installation of the drains.

David and his crew are an exceptional team. Their work is excellent, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again. The work was completed on time and at a reasonable price. I also appreciated that I was able to contact him quickly when I needed some minor adjustments to the shower door. He came right out and made the adjustments. Great service!

**BEWARE! We purchased an Angies List Big Deal. This is a late review I had planned on writing earlier, but didn't have time. If I recall it was for 3 hours (?) of Handyman service for a good price ($99 ? ). We had several small odd jobs that needed to be done. The owner came out (Pavel) to see what we wanted repaired in advance. I informed him of the Angies List deal we purchased and knowing our "to do" list was small, thought it could be completed in 3 hours. He arrived a few days later with a crew of 3 additional helpers. I'm not sure why he needed 4 people running around my entire home for such small jobs. None were polite or respectful ( wouldn't look you in the eye or act friendly). Of the work requested only two were done right. The fan is now working properly, and the bedroom window seals properly. **They removed our front door to put a new weather strip at the bottom and it hasn't opened or closed properly since. They actually made it worse than before! Here is the real kicker: They completed the work in way less than 3 hours. Closer to 1 hour and charged us MORE money! ( I guess to cover the extra workers?) Before I gave the owner (Pavel) his check, I went to inspect the toilet repairs to make sure they flushed without running. Nope. One of them was running as if nothing had been done. To my amazement, I told Pavel, the toilet is still running. He seemed in a hurry and said that was because I needed some additional part. WHAT? They had already been to Lowes. I hired them to FIX the problem. he seemed agitated, went in there and jimmy-rigged it to temporary flush. After a week it began running again after flushing. No repair at all. I have no clue how they get such positive reviews on Angies List. It makes me question the validity of reviews, and my membership. I highly recommend steering clear of Aurora Remodeling.

Suggs and Sons Woodworks
He went above and beyond because what we wanted was just to update the cupboards and not replace them. I didn't want a painted look and I just wanted the wood livened up so that all of the scratches or nicks were gone. He came in and quoted us a price which he kept to when the work was done. We had kind of an unusual color of cupboards so he had a contact, a lady, who he took one of the drawer to her and she made up a stain to exactly match the color of the drawer that he used to freshen up the cupboard doors. I really liked that because it saved me a lot of money which I could use to put towards other things that I wanted to do in the kitchen.

This show repair/rebuild went very well. Andy & his crew were very good and responsive from start to finish. Andy explained what needed to be done, ordered the replacement marble, made the necessary fixes and marble installation. Everything was professionally completed with a minimum of mess. We are satisfied with the work and would definitely recommend him to others.
