First visit was friendly, but unprofessional. Sales rep told stories of other contractors providing similar services without work permits, illegal workers, etc. Repeat calls when we declined their service were also not well received.

    Tim White Constrution
The contractor was hired to do work upstairs and downstairs. New tile, hardwood, paint, new cabinets downstairs, new walls, new laminate flooring. 25,600.00 plus me buying tile and flooring for basement.  The work upstairs was almost all complete and they where about half way thru with the basement. Tim White is a sub contractor and he hired Southern Hardwood Flooring Co. to put laminate flooring in the basement. On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2012, the flooring company came to start on the basement flooring. I ask the crew if the boss was here because I wanted to show him a bad spot on the hardwood upstairs. They told me no. Short time later the boss shows up and I ask him about a bad place on the hardwoord upstairs. He was very rude and walked away from me. Long story short, I told him to leave the house. The basement was in a mess where the crew had started the work and packed up and left.
OK, hear is my main problem. The Contractor, Tim White, had a crew at my house on Saturday, but when I called him to tell him about the flooring boss , he let my call go to voice mail. I heard the flooring boss speaking with him shortley after I ask him to leave earlier, but Tim did not answer my call that morning. I left him a message to call me back but He never did call me back all weekend. Due to hardships in living arrangments downstairs, I hired someone else to come help us with the floors. I did not understand why Tim had not called me back because I knew he took time Saturday morning to speak with Randy, the flooring boss.  Tim shows up Monday acting like I had done something wrong. He told me he did not take calls on Saturday , but, he had a crew at my house on Saturday that I had just fired. Tim lied to me and told me he could not get calls because of where he was and I told him I knew he lied because I knew Tim had just spoken with with Randy a few minutes before my call. Tim charged me 4800.00 for the basement floor, but would only take off 2000.00 for the floor. Then he finally took off another 500, for all my stress. So I got to do a lot of the work and Tim got paid for it. Several issues he ignored, like damage upstairs. I had to tell him 4 times about holes in the walls upstairs & painting that had not been done, grout that was messed up in the new tile. Tim said "Oh, I thought all that was done." He had never come up to check or ask was it ever done. He just assumed.  At the end of the job  they returned to put cabinets in the basement , and I realized I wanted under counter lights. He had not mentioned to me that I might want them in advance. So I was not prepared. We called an electrician that morning & it was a 350.00 charge for the new wiring so I paid the electrician that day. The next day Tim comes over here with a bill with the added 350.00. I told Tim we had already paid the Electricians and he told me he would reimburse my 350.00 and it has now been 11 days and I have not gotten my money back yet. DO NOT HIRE TIM WHITE CONSTRUCTION in Opelika AL. He does not listen and does not respond to text or voicemail. Also do not hire Southern Hardwood Flooring Company. They have a nice crew but the boss, Randy, is rude and speaks down to you for no apparent reason.

The Letlow Company, LLC; CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN
They started in November 2011 and they finished up at the end of the year. It was still a little rough and they finished that off and on. They finished on time and had 95% of it done by the end of the year. He took care of everything. I was out of town and couldn't handle any of it. He subbed out the air conditioning plus he has his own contractors, too. They were good but it wasn't cheap; we paid for it. My problem was that I wasn't here and I needed someone I could trust. We had been putting it off for ten years and we finally got it done and I didn't have to worry about it. He's sort of a stickler for doing it right and he made sure it was right. I hope I don't have use them again but I would use them again. I don't want to spend that kind of money again.
