    J Brewer and Associates
We were in Birmingham while J. Brewer and Assocs. redid our condo in Chattanooga. We were quite pleased. The price was fare without too many extras and the time frame was accurate. They were easy to communicate with and let kept us up on the project from afar. I think what speaks volumes is our neighbor who lives in the condominium next door and who was home most days as the work was being done, decided to use them to remodel her unit. She was the day in day out eyes of our project and obviously liked the work and the workers. We would recommend J. Brewer and Assocs.

Sentry Heating, Air, Plumbing & Generators
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! SCAM SERVICE AGREEMENTS! Sentry scammed us into signing multiple expensive maintenance agreements then amazingly found all sorts of expensive repairs to do each time they came. We own a home built in 1966. It's old and is being renovated. We know there are going to be issues so maintenance agreements seemed to make sense. Our first call to Sentry was due to their sticker being on the furnace. I assumed they installed the furnace since it had their sticker. (Later I realized they stick their decals on everything when they visit the home.) I called them to have the furnaces serviced and cleaned. The rep did a better job trying to upsell me on maintenance plans than he did actually servicing the furnaces. Two days later the gas valves on both our furnaces went out to the tune of over $3000. Bad luck or something else? Of course we called Sentry to come back because the agreement gave us a small discount. The rep looked at the furnaces and said "boy these sure need to be serviced. They are really dirty." This was two days after Sentry had been there to service it. Spring HVAC paid maintenance rolls around and they find a burned relay on the condenser. $300 to repair, but wait he also says your tankless hot water heater urgently needs to be flushed. He shared I need to buy a plumbing maintenance agreement because that will be covered. I repeated back to him twice "the plumbing agreement will cover flushing out the hot water heater?" I was told "yes" twice so I signed. Today the plumbing rep from Sentry arrived to do the "maintenance" agreement visit. His only tool to do our maintenance was a flashlight. He found various issues that could cause problems any day. Each issue had a $300-700 price tag. Total for repairs he found was $2042 and I'm sure that would be plus plus. I reminded him that the hot water heater needed to be flushed and he notified me that "repair" would be $680. New hot water heater costs about $800. He said we would probably be better going with a new tank hot water heater because the tankless are so expensive to maintain. Our Sentry maintenance agreement visit was nothing more than a glorified PAID visit for them do estimates at our home. The plumbing rep did do his best to convince me we needed a Sentry full electrical maintenance agreement to handle many electrical issues he saw. Do yourself a favor and find a company that will be honest, do the work required and not have every technician looking to sell you a "bundle".

    Punch-List Repairs LLC
They did outstanding job! They identified complex problems and didn't cover up but rather repaired and completed work. Both the bedroom and hallway are not only repaired but 100% improved with new crown molding satin finish. I highly recommend this company

    Blair Exteriors
It took about a 1-2 weeks to get on their schedule - not unusual. Once they came and assessed the situation, they sent a proposal. After we accepted the proposal it was about a week or so before the work started. After they were finished, about 10 days, I invited them to come back and review the work. They were pleased. A bill was emailed and was less than the estimate, as they were able to use the existing tile holders. They also took out all the old lighting and replaced it recessed indoor flood lights. All this was complicated by the fact that the ceiling is a dropped ceiling - since this was a cement basement all the wiring and duct work had to be worked around. They did a magnificent job. My wife and I could not be happier.

    Clem Electric Service
How did it go?!  As usual, everything went as smooth as clockwork. Before he arrived, I had already purchased my dusk to dawn lights, and the smoke detector. He came in, looked them over and went right to work. Now, I have used Joe before and I consider him a very knowledgeable person, as well as a friend, so I listen when he offers suggestions. Because all of my new lights were white and matched, AND my motion sensors by my front doors were not working correctly, he suggested I replace them while he was here. I got online (Home Depot), picked out two that I liked, paid for them and Joe went and picked them up. How's that for service?? He really knows his stuff, knows how to treat his customers (and fairly) AND ALWAYS leaves the work area even better than it was.  I truly think that he is one of the best!!

    Amigos Painting Carpentry & Tile
Oscar is more than reasonably priced, he shows up when he says he will, and although his English is not 5 stars, you can communicate.  It helps if you make a list of things that need to be done with some details.  He also works rather quickly, and does not waste time. He is most adept at wood working, painting and electrical, and window cleaning. He is also very trustworthy, and it is not an issue to leave him on his own or give him a key.
Also, men of that trade generally have a bad habit of talking down to women (making the false assumption they know nothing about construction, at which point they are of course fired).  Oscar has never done that, he is fine taking instruction from anyone, or giving you advice on matters he may know more about.  Highly recommended.

Ontime Service - Electrical, Heating & Cooling, & Plumbing
OnTime was very prompt, arriving almost exactly at the time that was initially scheduled. The technician was very professional, and answered all the questions I had. The work that was done was relatively simple, so I do believe it was overpriced. However, it's an older home so I wanted to be sure everything was done properly and used. I would most likely use them again.

    Atkins Electric
They did fine. They were good. They came in, did the job and then they offered to do additional work because I think I still had some more credit I guess. That was pretty cool! There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount.

    ANDY OnCall Birmingham
I moved to Birmingham from North Alabama a year ago as a  retired widow and had no one to contact for help. Andy on Call is my go to for anything I can't do myself. They are professional, efficient, and affordable. I would recommend them to anyone for any type of job.

Very professional! Working with the residential team was a pleasure.  They answered all of my questions and even gave advice regarding issues that were not on my "to do" list.  Would hire them again in a heartbeat
