Excellently. They excavated, installed a drain, and installed a patio and sidewalk. Very hard workers. I highly recommend them.

Matt Mertz Plumbing-Trenchless Sewer Repair Expert
We are so impressed with Matt Mertz plumbing.   We have rented our 85 year old house in Brighton heights and  our basement has been  flooding on and off since July 4, 2012 - (please note that we live on top of a steep hill).  Two other plumbers looked at the problem, one completely missed the boat, the other's quote was extreme.  Our poor tenants had to deal with a busted water heater, and never knowing whether or not the basement would be dry.  After weeks of temporary 'repair',  I called Matt Mertz Plumbing from Ottawa Canada, and within 45 minutes, my call was returned and someone had come to the house a few hours later.  We needed extensive repair as our tree penetrated the 85 year old pipes and the drain to the main sewer was completely blocked.  Matt called me directly to explain the problem and give me a reasonable quote considering the huge amount of work needed to be done. They even moved their schedule around so that they could come  a week earlier than  initially quoted since it was flooding so regularly.   My tenant told me how professional, clean, and efficient the crew were.  Matt and his crew were very respectful towards my tenant and was vigilant about keeping the basement as clean as possible, finishing quickly, and keeping inconvenience to a bare minimum.  When the job was completed (three days later), they had lain new pipe throughout the entire basement, as well as all the way to the main sewer.  Matt guaranteed that the tree cannot cause any more damage and that my new drainage system will last a lifetime.  He sent me pictures of the work that was done, as well as provide a DVD to see the inside of the new pipe.   Because we are so far away from our property, it is such a relief that I found a such a thorough plumber with such professionalism and skill.  We cannot be happier.  Matt is a very knowledgeable, clear,  honest, and hard-working professional.  Even though we have never met face to face I have no doubt that our flooding problems are gone for good!

Craig's Quality Tree & Demolition Service
Craig's Quality Tree Service was quick in response from the first phone call to the completion of the project. The owner was involved in the entire process and his crews were above and beyond polite, courteous, and on time. One hundred percent professional and would use them again. We have used him for several jobs ranging from $850 to $4000.

My yard has continued to flood. Justin Wise has assured me on several occasions that he would return to correct the drainage issues. The drain was installed in June and to date, he has not returned to honor his word.

    U.S. Shingle
U.S. Shingle gave us a substantially lower bid for our roof and related repairs than the other two we had received. As it turned out, there were problems with the roof that were not anticipated, including a second set of shingles to be removed and sagging that required several boards to prop up. For the latter, we were only charged their actual costs and for the former a very modest additional cost for labor. With the extra costs, the total we paid was still several thousand dollars less than the other bids. In addition, we had a gate to our backyard which we did not to use because it was falling apart. To do the work on the roof the crew had to remove the gate entirely. After the work was done, the gate was reinstalled and made more sturdy than it had been before because, we were told, they always like to do something extra. We would not have complained if they did not put the gate back at all, since it is really time to replace it, but we can now delay that for a while without worrying about our dogs getting out of the yard. It was anticipated that the work would take about a day and a half but, because of the unanticipated extra labor required took slightly longer. The crew worked two very long days and then came back on the third day for a couple of hours to complete clean-up. Everything was done to our complete satisfaction and, in fact, completed sooner than we expected because they were able to begin a few days early.

    SUPERIOR PLUMBING
I called Superior Plumbing because 2 previous plumbers had failed me...the first one unclogged my sewer drain but told me I had roots and tried to sell me yearly root treatment. The problem recurred within a month. A second plumber then tore up my wall to get to a cleanout but failed to unclog my drain and left after bending his rotor rooter. When I called Superior Plumbing Robert came out with his fiberoptic camera and showed me that my sewer line was narrowed due to pipe corrosion and buildup of minerals. It was clear I needed my line replaced and that it was not a root problem and we arranged another visit although he was able to unclog my line enough to function until that time. A few days later he arrived exactly on time with a helper and using a small backhoe he excavated the old cast iron line. Then he replaced it with 4 inch schedule 40 PVC and also constructed a cleanout that can be accessed from outdoors. No more tearing up of walls to clean a drain! Not that I will need it anytime soon. When he was done before he left he had me run all the water in the house including the washing machine on spin and flush all the toilets at once while he checked the pipe through the cleanout. It handled the load easily! He took the old pipe away and left my property in good shape. He showed a lot of respect for my property unlike previous plumbers. It wasn't cheap but well worth the price as I am worry free and won't have to waste money on plumbers that put a bandaid on the problem or tear up my wall and leave.

    SUPERIOR PLUMBING
We called on a Friday night after coming home to find the main water line pouring water into the yard and some water getting into the house (this had happened less than two years ago and the plumber we were using at that time had created more problems, so I wasn't surprised that their repair didn't stand the test of time). Robert responded the next day even though he was out of town.  Although I was able to turn off the water to the house with a pair of pliers, Robert strongly cautioned me to get the right tool from a hardware store.  I took his very good advice later that day (it was under $10 just as Robert had said it would be), which likely prevented me from hurting myself with the pliers.  Robert promised to come out first thing Monday morning, and based on past experience with him, we preferred to wait for him rather than finding someone else to come out before Monday. As expected, he was worth the wait.  He arrived Monday morning as promised and stayed on the task until he was done.  The break was in a difficult spot, but we have every confidence it's the last repair we'll have to do there.  Thanks again Robert!

Head's Plumbing, Contracting, & Marine Services
He supervise.  Jeremy was recommended to me by a hardware store in Hueytown when I needed plumbing/sceptic tank work.  Wife, Lanae, answers phone when he's working, and passes on messages like a pro. He responded promptly, drove out to our place on the Warrior River, and was knowledgeable and informative about my problems.  Price was reasonable.  Work was so satisfactory that I asked him to price paving the driveway.  We made a deal on that too, and it also went well.  Fine job with very little supervision from me.  In agreeing to the driveway, he threw in tree work as an incentive.  He's easy to work with and reliable, and seems to be highly competent at all kinds of trades.  I would highly recommend him, and I'll call him first the next time I need anything.

    Dirty Heath's Bobcat/Excavator
Heath is pleasant and easy to work with.  He does a very professional job and the end result was much better than I expected.  He took the time to smooth and blend the work area into the contours of the hillside.  He was careful not to disturb a landscaped area that was next to his work area.  He offered suggestions on further improvements to the area.

    Dirty Heath's Bobcat/Excavator
Overall, we were very pleased. He was unable to begin on the  original date he had stated because he was having problems with his bobcat. He kept us updated and it was about a week later that he was able to do the job. I feel it was worth the wait. He did a very good job and was a very nice person to deal with.  The price he quoted was exactly what we paid him. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.
