    Well my eight year old son with a head injury need to see a doctor the discharge nurse came out and told us we were next, just to watch three other people including someone that needed stitches on their hand who came in 30 minutes after us went ahead of us I walked out and found a better medical establishment willing to treat my 8 year old child with a head injury in a timely manner with a sense of urgency. This place is horrible and the dean of medicine should be replaced with someone who actually cares about patience

    They are open 7 days a week, I can get a same day appointment for my daughter, and all the doctors and nurse practitioners are great. I have seen several and they also follow up. They have a lab there in the practice, they are located in a medical mall, so you don't have to go any where for x-rays, they also have a pharmacy, and they have a sick side and a well side for the babies. They give the parents a flu shot the same time as your child, but I don't know what else they do for adults.

    The representative quickly helped me understand my coverage in the area in question. I was able to then access the needed information via the company website. The communication provided by BCand BS of AL has been excellent. The ease of statements accessible via their website is great and cuts down on paper waste. Our family has been pleased with all aspects of our coverage with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of AL.

    Coverage seems relatively good, although we have seen some reduction in coverage and a 50% increase in our co-pay (from $20 to $30). We have encountered some instances where the pharmacy benefits did not allow medications prescribed by our doctors to be filled, even though they were generic. Alternate medications were required to be tried first...we were not really comfortable with the insurance company overriding the doctor's recommendations that way. Of course the price is high, as are most health insurance policies, but for the most part we feel the coverage is adequate.

    When we arrived, a nurse met us at the lobby door and made sure my daughter was comforted immediately. This removed any anxiety that may have occurred otherwise. The entire visit was as good as any ER visit can be. Due to the location of the object, an xray was required. The technician was wonderful and really helped keep my child calm (even gave her a hospital teddy bear).
    The doctor that read the scan presented another great interaction. She was very helpful and interacted with my child on a level that really kept any fear at bay. She showed the xray off and explained what was happening and what to expect over the next 24 hours.
    Overall, the visit was as good as any ER visit can be. My daughter left on a high note and the next 24 hour went just as expected.

    After quitting my job in California and moving to Alabama I needed short term medical insurance
    while I was looking for another job.  Based on the great reviews on Angie's List, I contacted
    iHealth Brokers.  I spoke with Kimberly and she researched several companies to see which one
    would be the best value for me.  Kimberly was great, she walked me through the application
    process and made it very easy to get signed up with new medical insurance.  I highly recommend
    IHealth Brokers and Kimberly for your insurance needs.  It's taken me a while to write this review,
    but it does not take away from the great customer service Kimberly provided.

    Department -  Anesthesiology
    Complaint 1- Resident Unable to successfully insert IV.
    Resident was unable to insert my IV and caused me significant pain in the process. He acted as if I were a cadaver
    poking constantly, unaffected by my crying out in pain. I have nine (9) holes in my left hand and three (3) in my right. Eventually Attending /anesthesiologist  took over and inserted the IV. I realize that this is a teaching hospital, but it is also the
    #1 hospital in NY and #4 in the country- I believe the resident is NOT ready  for work on the living and attending anesthesiologist should have intervened sooner when a patient is suffering.

    Anesthesiology Resident - incorrect post-op pain meds ordered due to resident dyslexia (numbers quoted below may not be exact but exhibit the error).  
    I awoke from surgery in great pain and could not stop crying. The post op nurse realized the problem and contacted Anesthesiology to address the pain meds that were ordered. Anesthesiology Resident had directed 0.036 of pain meds post op. It was a while before resident addressed my pain ( had a 2ndsurgery after mine) and the post op nurse went to the head nurse for assistance. I heard discussion that the admitted the pain meds ordered should have been 0.63 vs 0.036 (numbers may not be exact)--- a factor off and dyslexic numbering. Once proper pain meds were ordered, my pain was tolerable. This is unacceptable and criminal.

    It was another 2+ hour wait at a walk-in clinic but there were at least 25 people in front of me when I got there. I would say they did a pretty decent job of serving everyone in a timely manner. The doctor--can't remember her name--was really nice and seemed to care fro my well being. Everything was nice and clean and would visit again but would definitely try to get there as soon as they open.
    As far as walk-in clinics go, it was a good visit but waiting for 2+ hours before even seeing the doctor is all the more reason to find a primary care physician.

    After checking in at the hospital I was given paperwork to fill out to include reason for visit and general questions regarding my overall health. After waiting 45 minutes a nurse took my blood pressure and heart rate. While she was doing this another nurse was reviewing my paperwork and making entries into a computer. Even though she had the sheets I filled out she made me verbally answer all of the questions. If it's on the sheet then why are you asking me?! After that I sat in the waiting room for 3 more hours and that is not an exaggeration. When I finally was seen by a doctor he was very pleasant and thorough. Other than the horrendous waiting time I am very satisfied with the care I received.

    Called in the refills when I left work and they were ready when i got there 20 mins later. I have used this pharm for years and they have always been pleasant and helpful. Minnie (when she is there) always recognizes me and goes right to my Rx. She always seems genuinely happy to see me. And I'm sure she's like this with all customers. I have called with questions in the past and have always been helped promptly and with respect.
