They will not accept calls until 8:30 am or later. They turn the phones over to an answering service before 4:30 pm like they say. They do not like walk-ins but if you try to schedule an appointment for sick child they keep putting you off by having a nurse call you back a couple of hours later. I was first told she did not need to come in. She got worse so I called on my way to let them know I was coming. It was 4 and they said they had already seen all they were seeing for the day. The nurse told me to be back at 8:15 the next morning. I told her I was outside and she advised I should not do that in the future because they like to leave early, especially in the summer. No one seemed overly nice that they were having to wait on us. However, that was the quickest they have ever gotten us in and out of there. She saw a nurse practitioner but at least we got medicine so she could finally start feeling better after a week and a half. They also close for lunch every day 12-1. They are not very compassionate. The days of doctors being available during the night or weekends and making house calls are over. They don't want to work but get a copay every time we walk through the doors. What I do for a living is not as important as child health yet we see late walk-ins for free and rotate lunch so the office can remain open for customer's convenience. What a novel idea! And we don't leave at lunch on Fridays. How nice for the medical profession! I especially thought it unprofessional that the nurse would tell me like they to leave early in the summer. Wouldn't we all?! *Update: After writing this review, I was informed by a coworker that he had a problem with his boat on a Friday night before an early Saturday morning fishing tournament. He called the person who works on his boat and who keeps normal M-F 8-5 business hours. The business owner met him at the shop at 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night and worked on his boat until 1:00 a.m. so they could leave at 4:00 a.m for the fishing tournament! I wish we had the same dedication from health care professionals in the area. I understand they have their own family and want to spend time with them but I just cannot reconcile the dedication to a boat being so much more than that of a small child! ***UPDATE: I had to take my child back to the doctor because of an allergic reaction. I changed my rating and opinion during this visit because we received excellent service from the office staff and doctor. I called and they scheduled her an appointment for 20 minutes later. We arrived and did not have to wait very long before being taken back to a room. We also did not have to wait very long to see the doctor. He quickly diagnosed her and then talked at length about the diagnosis and treatment. Our medication was called in and filled by the time we arrived at the pharmacy. This visit was pleasant. Everyone was very nice and prompt. I will NOT be looking for another pediatrician.

    Billy Sellers MD
Additionally, he will see the parents of his patients. Several weeks ago, I took my daughter in to see Dr. Sellers. After her appointment he asked me (the mom) how I had been doing. I proceeded to explain to him some problems I was having. A little history: I had been having some stomach issues and had been seeing my gastroenterologist's nurse practitioner for about 1 1/2 months (because I could never get an appointment with the actual gastroenterologist doctor). I got really sick a couple of nights before my daughter's appointment so I called the nurse practitioner and told her what happened. She called me back prior to my daughter's appointment. She was very rude to me, chewed me out, and said there was no fix for my problem. I know there is no fix for GERD. But the problem I was having there was a fix for, she just wouldn't listen and wasn't doing her job. So, when Dr. Sellers asked me (the mom) how I was doing, well...I had to vent. I said well, do you know any good gastro doctors? I explained what happened. He asked me a few questions and said well, have you ever been tested for food allergies? My response was no; no one has ever mentioned that. He told me his initial thoughts about what might be going on with my stomach. So, I scheduled an appointment with him. He did a food allergy test, actually listened to me, and what do you know...after eliminating a couple of different things from my diet, we found the problem. The truth of the matter is, the nurse practitioner should have caught this - this is her areas of expertise. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Sellers to anyone whether you live in Alexander City or not. He is definitely worth checking out.

When I had my second son I had to pick a pediatrician from a list which made me really nervous but I picked one and crossed my fingers. The day after the baby was born the doctor came in to check on my son. He was smiling and upbeat which made a good first impression. He asked questions about the baby and the birth but he also showed concern for how I was doing. We had an appointment 2 days later which would be our first experience in the actual office. It was neat and clean and we especially liked that there were separate sections for sick and healthy kids. Since our son was only 2 days old as soon as we walked in and signed in at the desk we were taking to a room right away. We have since transferred our oldest son to this office as well. They get fast appointments, they have an answering service for when they are closed, and are overall fantastic!

    Clark, Dr. Gerald H
We have been seeing Dr Gerald Clark as our pediatrician since our son's birth in 2010, and have been so pleased with the experience. He is highly communicative, always takes time with us to answer our questions, and tells us things we never even knew to ask him on each visit (this is our first child). His bedside manner is fantastic, with both parents AND kids - he always makes our son feel very comfortable, and we leave feeling like all our questions were answered. His support staff are also great, we have had to call a number of times for minor questions or consults and have always been very happy with the outcomes. The nurses respond quickly to calls, etc. The office itself is great, toys in lobby for kids to play with, and many books in exam rooms to occupy a young child. Cannot recommend this practice any more highly!! Very grateful for them and their great service.

great. my son has seen him many times and it has always gone well. dr. c. is wonderful and the staff is friendly. the waits are long though... and one nurse in particular did not know very much about breast feeding, and gave wrong info.. which I didn't like because I'm afraid it might discourage others from breast feeding.. but you will find that in a lot of places... the other nurse was very good though.

Overall, everything went well.  I observed the following that I found to be noteworthy and true.  A mom went in with her teen-age son.  She stated to the doctor, "you are a Christian aren't  you?"  The doctor responded, "yes, how can you tell"?  The mom responded with a smile, "because you love everyone who comes in here". That was all the convincing I needed to continue using this doctor.  I will also continue referring patients to her.

    Purohit Pediatric Clinic
Overall I have been very pleased with the care my daughter has received.  We've seen several different doctors there--Dr. Purohit, Dr. Branch, Dr. Wallis, and Dr. Ray.  All of them have been very kind and listened well.  They've answered my questions and taken time to make sure I understand how best to take care of my daughter.  Dr. Branch is an especially good listener, and she has an amazing ability to make me feel like she's not in a rush at all, even though I know that all doctors are very busy.  I plan to continue taking my daughter here as long as we live in the area.

He was always kind, patient and very knowledgeable.  As I observed and communicated with my students I also  observed the patient care in his office , I learned much about the kind of physician he is.  I got to see and hear about his cases and situations from the inside.  I am very impressed with his thoroughness, his expertise and his empathy for all patients.  Pride never stood in his way to quickly refer a child to another physician if he thought it was best for the patient.  I admire him as a physician and a humble man who really cares about teaching our youth about the reality of medicine, and a very capable doctor who deeply cares about children and their health, even though he treats many families who cannot pay.

Dr. Ebba is a great doctor. My son loves him. He seems to be really great with kids. What I like most is that he actually remembers my son. He doesn't just fade into the background with his many other patients. It makes you feel like he cares and isn't just rushing to get to the next patient. I may have disagreed with him on a few things here and there, but overall we really enjoy having him as our sons pediatrician.
