CWindow World IncWe are getting estimate now. However, we wanted an estimate on replacement of front door and to cover windows on side of door. We were told 12 weeks until work could begin. And, to cover the two side windows on the side of the front door, we were going to have to buy $1,000 of fiberglass even though we only need a very small amount due to the fact Windows World did not need it; but, we don’t need it either. I would have assumed this company would have extra Fiberglas on hand since they use the material for jobs??? So, the font door is out. We are waiting on an estimate for replacing a window. We were told the back four replacement would be around $800-$1,000; is this reasonable?- Terry W.

FArmstrong Painting & ConstructionIT WAS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE AND IT MAKES ME QUESTION ABOUT THE PROCESS THAT ANGIES LIST USES TO ASSURE THE CONTRACTORS ARE RESPECTFUL BUSINESSES. THE MAN I DEALT WITH WAS ISAIAH ARMSTRONG. HE WAS ASKED TO MEASURE THE ROOMS OF THE HOUSE ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR AND WAS ASKED NOT TO GO UPSTAIRS BECAUSE IT MIGHT NOT BE SAFE. HE WENT ANYWAY UPSTAIRS. HE MAY HAVE TAKEN A HOUR TO DO THE WORK AND FORWARDED ME AN INVOICE FOR $5,000.00 THEN HE DROP IT TO $2,500.00 THE $1,250.00. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT HE HAD NOT DONE AND WORK FOR THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY AND HIS USE OF PROFANITY AND THREATENING CALLS WAS HORRIFIC. I COULDNT BELIEVE HE KEPT WAITING OUTSIDE THE HOME SAYING IM GONNA REGRET NOT PAYING HIM. HE THREATENED TO PLACE A LIEN ON THE HOUSE AS WELL AND FINALLY SAID I WILL PAY FOR IT IN OTHER WAYS. I HAVE NEVER TAKEN A CALL LIKE THAT FROM NO ONE TRYING TO EXTORT CASH FROM AN OVERPRICED INVOICE. AGAIN I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY WORK.- Walt L.

FThe Gutter ManThe hardwood flooring was not installed according to manufacturing specs, though he assured me it would be the day before they started the job. It started deforming the very next week!!!! Part of that job was to build a firewood box next to my fireplace........never happened. My new kitchen cabinets are still spread out between my kitchen and living room. After many calls and just as many text messages, very few of which he answered, the promises and lies kept building. I know better, but I gave him partial payment up front. The last I heard from him, he was going to put a refund cashiers check in the mail to me that afternoon. NOTHING. I tried small claims court. He never showed up. I tried to attach a lien on anything he owns. He owns nothing. He rents, doesn't own a vehicle or equipment. He is scum.- nancy t.

FMac Handy ConstructionThis job was awful from start to finish!! I paid 1/3 up front and he ended up spending that on something other than my materials. I ended having to go buy the rest of the materials so he could finish the job. He wouldn't show up until 11 and then leave at 3. I think one day he worked until 6. Some days he just didn't show up at all and didn't let me know. He would hardly get any work done and then ask for more money. His work is below average at best. He left the job and it truly isn't finished yet. The sanding that was done on the drywall never completed. He argued over doing things that we agreed on. When I told him this he just cussed me out and threatened to come out and rip up the work he had done. Wouldn't recommend him for any work.- jay w.

Ahe done a great job. The floor had rotted out under tile. I have a background in civil engineering and a "jackleg" carpenter, but at my age this project was to much for me to take on. When a sister came to visit she was afraid of failing through! I called Brian, got a quote and he started the next day. This sort of project is the hardest any contractor can take on . He completed it in a day and a half and a at fair price. I'll be proud to have company to come over.

DThe Smart Home features they installed, such as thermostat and door locks, etc. do not always work. For example, the Honeywell thermostat can no longer be operated from our phones and is difficult to install. Remote door locks are also unpredictable.
