    North Shelby Family Health
I have only been there twice, but I have been very satisfied with them. Their wait time is short. They are very responsive. I have got a little chronic skin rash condition that I had for years and the doctor that I was seeing there came up with some ideas that 10 other doctors had never had. He showed some significant improvements, so I have been very pleased with them.

    Hughes, Dr. Dorothy E.
Dr. Hughes is very personable and takes the time to talk through your concerns and questions. My college-age daughters also go to her. We are new to Birmingham as of December 2013 so its always painful to find a new GP. I was lucky to find her and would highly recommend she and her group!

    They get you in fast
Always get a live person on the phone
Call back requests of the Dr's nurse are usually within 2 hrs
All the doctors are amazing, and if your doctor is out of town, the others cover and see you

Dr. Heidecker saw her the next morning after an overnight stay. He was very prompt on diagnosis and allowed us to go home per my request. I made the follow appt. in 2 weeks. After a few days of being home, she started coughing up old blood. I called the office to ask if this was normal. Dr. Key, a colleague, of Dr. Heidecker called me personally and said it was. Once again she started coughing up fresh blood. Called Dr. Heidecker's office and the return call scheduled a bronchscopy the next day. When she went in for bronchoscopy, her blood pressure was super high. They got the blood pressure down and did the procedure. Dr. Heidecker told me to call the on call doctor the next day to report blood pressure readings. The blood pressure remained up on Saturday so I called and recieved a call from Dr.Strickland with instructions to treat blood pressure. On Monday the blood pressure was still high, so I called the office and medication was callled in to treat blood pressure with instructions to call back the next day. Over the next few days I communicated with the nurse in how to regulate the blood pressure medicine. On Friday, the blood pressure was still high and I had a question regarding blood tests that were performed earlier in the week. Late Friday afternoon, Dr. Patterson called me personally and helped me with lab results and continued blood pressure issues. She told me to call Dr. Heidecker on Monday to report blood pressure and get further lab results. This is lenghtly but my purpose is to recognize these doctors for their and quot;personaland quot; care, it is very rare for a doctor to return a call to a patient! Very impressed. BTW...my Mom is doing well.
The reason I gave them a C on office enviroment is that the waiting room is very small and stuffy.

    Zaharias, Dr. George M.
In 2009 I had Stage 1 Cervical Cancer. He called me personally when he received the results, usually you call a number with your personal number, and he leaves the message himself. I have had a 6 month check up every 6 months since the surgery. He has a great bedside manner and listens to you and answers all of your questions. I am still cancer free. I usually do not have to wait more than 20 minutes if that.

Never tell a doctor what you think is wrong with you as I did. Not in a nice way he said and quot;so you've diagnosed yourself. and quot;Told me to try a allergy medicine again that I had a reaction to, and if that didn't work come back they would put me on a diet.

    Jebeles, Dr. John A.
Dr. John A. Jebeles is probably the best doctor for ENT in Birmingham. He is very professional and competent, he is very timely in seeing you and his appointments and very good at treatments. His staff is very helpful, friendly and responsive.

They were extremely thorough. I would not recommend anybody else but them because they were just fantastic. We have been using them off and on over the years so we decided to use them for the surgery. They explain things to us if we are not able to understand anything.

    Schaffer, Dr. Christopher J.
I met with Dr.Christopher to discuss smart (laser) lipo. He seemed to answer all my questions honestly. He was professional and never made me feel uncomfortable during the examination. The clinic was nice, clean, and comfortable. The nurse that assisted him was friendly and helpful. After consideration I decided not to do the procedure at this time, but if I do in the future I would likely use him.
