    The Eye Center
I had a 2:45pm scheduled visit - I arrived early to fill out paper work. I did not get into the "first waiting" room after a 40' wait in the first one. I went in to have some testing done and sent, yet again, into another waiting room - where I waited another 20' - then on for another set...overall I waited four different times all for a 5 minute visit with my doctor. Total time at the They Eye Center 2:00pm to 4:35!!! I have had many office visits - with practices that have many patients - NOTHING accounts for this kind of time.

The Eye Center practice is a large physician group practice.  Despite its size, the office is well run, with friendly staff.  There is usually a small wait time in the lobby as you wait to be called to the exam areas for your appointment.  At times the patient might feel like it is assembly line because you go from one type of routine exam area, to another, and another (usually in different areas/rooms of the office) - ie., glaucoma exam, then routine questions regarding your eyes, eye chart exam, then eye drops to dilate your eyes so your ophthamologist can examine the interior of your eyes, etc.  My opthamologist has a good "bedside manner" and explains everything he is going to do during the exam as well as discussing your treatment plan, if any.

    Brenda Miller Edmonson MD
The surgery was set for January 10, 2014.  In the meantime our insurance was changed from Medicare as Primary to a Medicare Advantage plan.  Surgery was cancelled as the diagnostic paper work needed to be resubmitted to the new insurance process.  The office staff was advised  and knew this was necessary and promised to resubmit the paper work.  Three weeks went by and when we inquired what was the status they said they MAILED the paper work.  The insurance company did not receive the records; they said that the doctor's office had to call the insurance provider number to get a case number.  When they called, they would get a number; then they would be told by the insurance company to email the records.. When we informed the office staff of this, they were adamant that they did it right.  When they finally called to get a case number they then submitted the records on February 27th.  We received an approval on March 4th and was waiting for an appointment for the surgery.  And waited and waited!!  When we called the office a number of times and left word to be called back to schedule a surgery date, all we got was excuses why they couldn't call us (such as they were busy, the person to schedule was out of the office but would call the next day, etc.)  Finally, they did call on Friday March 21st, and told us that we did not seem to want them to do the surgery!???   We said we did want them to do the surgery, we just wanted to know the date;  we were told they would have a meeting about this and get back to us.  We have no idea where they got that from after we waited 3 months for a surgery appointment.  On Wednesday morning March 26th they called to tell us to get another doctor.  When we asked if they did not want to deal with  the Medicare Advantage Plan and if that was the reason for this dragging of feet,  they did not deny that accusation. We could not do anything else but accept their erroneous decision and now seek another doctor.  During that same phone call, we asked them to send us the records.  However, on Wednesday  afternoon (3/26) we called to let them know we would be picking up the records so they didn't have to mail them.  At that time, we were told that they had already been put in the mail.  As of today, Wednesday, April 2nd, (It is now a week later) no records have been received.  The office staff seems careless, petulant and, worse, less than honest.  After making an appointment with another doctor, he received the records from Dr. Edmonson's office by fax.  Needless to say, we would never recommend this doctor to anyone based on the fact that the office staff is so inefficient.

Saw Dr Danny Lee. He and the assistant were professional, answered all my questions, friendly, but not overly so. Overall, a good visit and booked for my next appointment. Will see them again as I believe he has the capability of handling my retina and cornea problems.

    Lee, Dr. David A.
Dr. Lee did not seem to care about my vision problems. Just prescribed the strongest lenses and left it at that. Overheard one of his nurses say he was 'tired ' of dealing with me. He is the one that told me to come back if they didn't work. Went to another opthmologist and discovered I have Macular Degeneration.

The appointment ran a little longer than I realized it would but there was very little down time. I was either filling in medical data or being tested to get data on my eyes most of the time, except for the inevitable wait for the dilation drops to take effect. No procedures were painful and they explained what they were doing and why all along the way. I plan to continue to use their services.

My experience with them was very nice. Dr. Mitchell did a really good job. I recovered quickly. I was satisfied with the results. The optician is really good. The only problem with them is that you have to wait.

As with all other visits, I waited in the waiting room for approximately one hour before being called back.  After having a couple of tests, I went to another waiting room for approximately 1 1/2 hours before seeing the doctor.   My doctor is a very good and thorough doctor but I wish the timing of the appointments could be improved on.

    McCoy, Dr. Patricia MD
I had to wait a little while to be called back into the exam room. A technician took down a history and performed acuity tests on me and checked my current glasses. THe doctor came in and discussed my eye health history and dilated my eyes. I was taken to another room while my eyes dialated. The nurse checked my eyes and said they were dialated and taken back to a room. Dr. McCoy came in and examined my eyes, discussed my eye issues and decided to take a picture of my eyes while dialted to look at optic nerves. She went over results and asked me to come back in 6 months for a follow up.She was kind and very knowledgeable.

Found prescription had not changed from current Rx. Charged $50 extra to get written prescription, which was written incorrectly. Appointment took an hour, even with small number of patients in waiting room. Dr. Lee was very thorough and professional.
