    SEAL-TITE - Metal Roofing Specialists
Jim the owner visited the house three times to go over material, coloring and what all would be done. Went over possible issues make sure I was getting what I needed. Due to the warranty there was no need to pay more for the next level in pricing. I wanted a roof with the least chance of leaking at the best prices. Also with the ridge vent installed along with venation added to the eaves which did not have any five items were removed from the roof giving a cleaner look and less chance of leaks. Everything went well but the clean up. I was at work when they finished so they did not have access to the attic and some other items like were they had park there trailer. . Late on Friday night Jim came by to check the work and offed to finishes the clean up. I declined. I would/will hire Seal-Tite again. I will make a point to have the crew clean up better which is true of most contractor.

    Durante Home Exteriors
It took forever to get this project started!
    Here is my timeline:
Jan. 8th - Had a Durante representative come to my house and give me an estimate
Jan. 28th - Same guy came back to my house to get me to sign papers and receive deposit (Couldn't this have been done electronically?)
Feb. 12th - a Durante project manager came by to "look" at the project. (Although the first guy took extensive notes and pictures)
March 25th - Workers came to my house and started working on the project (TWO months after I put down a deposit and signed papers! This long timeline expectation was never set with me or my husband.)
March 30th - Had to get a new crew assigned to my project for unknown reasons

Once the new crew started, it didn't take long to complete the project and we were pleased with the quality overall. I just feel that we should have been told that it would take a few months to get a crew to our house to start the project.

    Weather Guard Lifetime Metal Roofing
WeatherGuard Lifetime Metal Roofing put a metal roof on my house in November, 2012 and it has damaged my house. What was supposed to have protected my house has become a nightmare.
The salesman was on time, but, in my opinion, misled me about my gutters (he said the 5 inch gutters were fine, but 6 inch gutters are needed with metal roofs). The need for 6 inch gutters I found out much later after the roof was installed.  There have been other complaints about this salesman, including complaints to the Better Business Bureau.
The two people they sent to do the install seemed to do an adequate job.  They finished much faster than I had been told to expect, and when they left around 5 pm the second day and said they were finished, it was getting dark outside and so I did not see all the pieces of sharp, cut metal they had left lying around the property.
When the first heavy rains happened after the roof  was put on, I had a waterfall over my gutters, and this was especially bad over my kitchen window, and I called WeatherGuard and was told this was normal - that water runs faster off of metal roofs than shingle roofs.  (And why you need 6 inch gutters to handle the run-off, though I was not told that until 3 years later.)  The water running over the gutters has caused my soffits to rot much faster than normal, has worn away mortar work, and the waterfall over my kitchen window has caused damage to the walkway underneath, washing away the walkway.
Unfortunately, this was not the worst of it.  The two men doing the install never put any flashing or protection against my  chimney.  Nothing, so every time it rained, water was getting into my house behind my chimney walls.  It took a while for the damage from this to show.  When the damage began to show, I did not assume it was the new metal roof.
I had the gutter guy out who said the gutters were fine except they should be 6 inches, and pointed out that the roof had been cut too long, essentially leaving only about 2 inches of gutter exposed in some areas.
My fireplace had begun to settle, and I had a foundation guy out, who said my foundations were fine.
I had a fireplace guy out, who climbed up to the roof to check for a leak in the chimney pan or cracks around the chimney, and
found the absence of any flashing from the metal roof, and NO protection against the chimney chase from the rain. Essentially, every time it rains my house was being damaged around the chimney chase.
I am in the process of having the chimney chase, fireplace box, and support structure rebuilt and repaired.
When I found out in November 2015 that a bad metal roof install was the cause of all of this, I contacted WeatherGuard Metal
Roofing, and Chris came out.  He climbed the ladder and saw what had (and had not) been done on the roof install, and when he came down, he said that it was them - that it was not installed correctly.  He sent a team to put on flashing around the  chimney and cut back some of the roof that had been cut too long and was making the waterfall effect over the gutters so bad.  Chris also told me I needed 6 inch gutters (but his salesman had told me my gutters were fine and would not need to be
replaced).  Chris saw some of the damage that had been done to the house.  But, other than the crew he sent to put on some flashing, they have not fixed any of the problems.
The people replacing my chimney chase and doing the repair work have said that all of this damage is due to the bad install of the metal roof.
I have been in contact with Chris (last contact on Feb 29, 2016), and he initially seemed like WeatherGuard would help cover the costs of the repairs.  During our last conversation he said it was my fault - that I should have known and called them
sooner.  How could I have known that they did a poor install?  And when I was told it was the roof, I did contact them right away.
During out last conversation he got off the telephone line, and then a lady came on the line and said he would call me back.  He has not called me back.
So, I put a metal roof with a lifetime warranty on the house, to protect the house.  Instead it has damaged it.  I am having
difficulty getting the company to step up.  They did send a crew in November 2015 to put on the flashing that was never installed against the chimney chase, and cut back some of the roof over some of the gutters, but that crew did not fix the problems caused by the bad install, and I still have waterfalls over my gutters whenever it rains very hard.
Having this company put a metal roof on my house has become a nightmare.

    Meadow Exteriors

We are still waiting for our deposit and doors we purchased that Robert picked up to alter.  No work has been done on site and there is no evidence that any prep work has been done off site or hardware purchase made with our money. Our contract from Meadow Exteriors has a Better Business Bureau Logo on it, but when we logged onto the BBB website we found that they are not BBB accredited on the BBB of Central Alabama website.  Also the address listed with the BBB for Meadows Exteriors is the same address listed for Maximus Metal Roofing, Inc., 5425 Old Quarry Road, Birmingham, AL 35235-2191, same owner Robert Brewster.  Many complaints have been filed against Maximus Metal Roofing on Angie?s List and various websites.  During the initial contact, he used Angie?s List as a reference for his reputation.  There was nothing on Angie?s List to indicate a problem with Meadow Exteriors, and no link to Maximus Metal Roofing to give us the full picture and keep us from hiring Robert Brewster.

    Authentic Restoration
They were extremely nice people to deal with but, i got stood up 2 times on waiting on someone to show up to start on the work. They apologized both times and said they were extremely busy but, I was taking days off work to be there when the work was performed and that alone was costing me money so i cancelled the work and ask them for the $100.00 dollar refund and i didn't get it back. I hate it didn't work out but iwas getting concerned about the quality of work and the time frame of completion.

    Budget Siding & Windows
Very impressed with the overall service.  I had estimates from 2 "brand name" / big box retailers that were both over twice the cost.
The owner Rick came out, measured our home, gave us a firm estimate and a start date of a couple weeks out.  He contacted us about a week later to say he had a crew available and could start a week sooner.  Despite it raining most days, they only took 7 days to install the siding and wrap all our windows, doors, sofit and trim.  They even fixed a couple of loose gutters at no charge.
His crew was very courteous, professional,  and cleaned up after themselves daily.  The finished siding looks great and I wish I had contact Rick sooner since the last time I paid to have the existing Masonite siding painted was around $7000,  I'm a very detailed oriented person and I can't find a single flaw in finished product.
I will not hesitate to recommend Rick and his company to those needing siding, windows or a deck.

    SouthFace Renovations LLC.
Let's get to the point:  this operation is GREAT.  They do a variety of services, and do them all very well.  I requested a variety of services, and they completed them well.
SouthFace was able to schedule our work quite promptly, and everyone was friendly and polite.  They did an extensive amount of work, and all of it was well done.
Work done:  pressure washing whole house, front and back porches, sidewalk, and driveway.  Cleaned exterior windows.  Repaired and/or replaced rotting wood on the facade.  Significant repairs on rotted soffits.

    Blair Exteriors
New roof required replacement of boards, picked up as well as can be expected afterwards.
Siding went very well and pleased.
Windows are working well and pleased.
Gutters are leaf guard and are working well except for on spot that leaks over an entry stair.
Removed a door and replaced with window, replaced a window with door per our request, worked out well but they did not finish off the interior insulation, wallboard and trim.
Noticable savings on heating and air conditioning.

    Budget Siding & Windows
The owner-Mr. Hinkle- is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about vinyl siding and how he would address particular problems we were having with dormer windows.  He gave me a detailed estimate and the actual work did not go over that amount. The estimate was very reasonable.  He was available by phone and e-mail whenever we had questions or concerns.  He regularly checked in on the work crew and with us. The work crew used by this company for the siding was professional, courteous, and happy to answer any questions we had.  They cleaned up after themselves every day and left the job site totally free of debris.  The work performed was outstanding and the finished product looks wonderful.  We would definitely use this company again.
