  • The staffs are very friendly. The waiting room was fine. I had to wait for probably ten to fifteen minutes, but that is pretty normal because you have like a ton of paperwork to fill out it seems every time you go. I would recommend them to a friend. I usually make my appointment when I am leaving for my next six months checkup. I usually can pick what day of the week and what time I want to go. Dr. Margaret is always nice.

  • If there was no stars that is what I would Andrews Sports
    Medicine (Dr Minor and Dr Carnel, who is with them as a pain specialist)...It
    was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had with an ortho complex and Ive had
    numerous surgeries on other parts of my body that I wasn't having treated, so I
    understand the process. Dr Minor's assistand Jessica is worthless and rude. I
    called to explain that I just wanted some after MRI's done and gave Jessica a
    message that for some reason she refused to give give Dr Minor. Dr Minor and
    myself had talked extensively about where else I could go for my hip and back
    pain so my message was relevant to my previous app. She got very rude and lippy
    and wouldn't give her the message. Just wrong and so not helpful. SO I had to just
    send my records on my own to another I wasted my time, money and got
    the aggravation from Jessica the assistant that thinks she is a dr.....ummm no
    your not. A dr is good or not but if her assistand, desk clerk etc is crappy
    why would you want to go there? With Dr Carnel, Dr Minor referred me to him but
    lied about where he had services.....I never wanted to do anything else with
    Andrews but Dr Minor said he went to Trinity, and other places but Dr Carnels
    office told me that I had to go to Andrews since he is a floating dr and since
    they referred me that is where I had to go. So much misinformation. And with Dr
    Carnel you have to see a fellow and they don't tell you that. I don't like see
    fellow, pa's etc. And when I asked if I had to see them Dr Carnels assistand
    Debbie said yes. Ive never heard of that before. When other drs have fellows if
    you don't want to see them you don't have to. Just odd all the way around. And
    the front desk at Andrews is so scatter brained....there is 3 of them and none of
    them no what the crap is going on. You are there for hours and hours and then
    you see a fellow so wrong. Andrews is a joke and all they want to do is take
    your money, keep you there all day and then not do a thing to help you. Go
    somewhere else, anywhere else but NOT Andrews sports medicine. I called the
    administration and they are useless. Just a waste of money and time. I DO NOT
    recommend them at all.

  • She is thorough. They are very efficient, friendly and professional, very concerned and caring. Every thing was always clean and there was always hand washing on stands around. They work very hard there and they have a portal to access them if it is an emergency.

  • I saw Dr. Thomas Wilson and he thought I was a great candidate for a nerve block. He said even if that did not work, he could do a posterior discectomy without fusion. He referred me to Dr. Jeremy Barlow at St. Vincent's Neurosurgical Center for the nerve blocks. He told me to call him about 2 weeks after the second block to give him an update. I have had 2 nerve blocks and I am definitely better. I called the office and spoke with his nurse and gave her my update. She discussed with Dr. Wilson and called me back the same day. She explained the reason for some of my post procedure symptoms. She said to call back in another month to give them another update. I thought it was great that I didn't have to go back into the office for that.

  • UAB is excellent provider in Birmingham area especially if you have complicated problem. With research focus in mind, you have access to knowledgeable providers with cutting edge technology. Being an academic center, it does like to investigate problem more thoroughly with many specialist to chose from. Only downside that I have experienced is often wait time to get in as new patient may be challenging especially if you need quick evaluation. Although once you are established patient, providers are very flexible to work with you in appointment.

  • We had excellent experience with Dr. McLaren. She is prompt, very knowledgeable and compassionate. In addition to her excellent bedside manner, she is very good at personal follow through. Our visit led to some lab work that required change in medication. Even though she was out of town, she was caring enough to give us a call and go over the results with recommended further work up. Her support staff including nurses are also one of the best we have seen. Office environment offers a nice experience with emphasis on privacy. Availability for follow up was also fairly quick and flexible. Excellent provider, would recommend for sure.

  • Having not heard from them by 4:30pm, I called to get my results and to see if they had phoned in an antibiotic. Not only did they lose my specimen, they said that I should have made an appointment. As a patient, it is not my fault their office says one thing (i.e. gives me an appointment time for a and quot;drive byand quot; leaving of a urine specimen) and does another (loses my specimen and then tells me I shouldn't have done a drive by). They will NOT call in an antibiotic (this is happening around 4:45pm, so no time to call another doctor). So, I'm sick *AND* I have a primary immune deficiency (CVID). This used to be a decent practice. Not anymore. I will not go back despite the fact I really like Dr. Rookis. If a medical office staff's right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, then I will not deal with them. Especially when the doctor's nurse blames the patient for their error. As a Stage IV breast cancer survivor who also has a primary immune deficiency, I simply don't have the energy to deal with an inefficient office staff who blames a patient for not knowing how their office is supposed to operate.

  • I have been a patient of Dr. Gordon for about 3 years. I have been very satisfied with him as my internist. The staff members are friendly and helpful. Wait times are relatively short and I usually I am in and out within 45 minutes or an hour.
