    They failed to show up on the schedule date (Monday).  When I called, they indicated that I had the dates confused and the appointment was scheduled for the next day (Tuesday).  
    I called on Tuesday morning, the day of the next scheduled appointment, to see if they would take a credit card and to let them know how many locks and keys were needed.  They responded that they would take a credit card and were happy to get the information about the number of needed keys.
    They failed to show up on the second day and when called again said that it wasn't on the books.  I gave up on the attempt to use them and used another company.

    They were amazing.

    They came right out. When I called them Tuesday morning they were out that afternoon. They are honest people. Its a family business that has been in business almost 30 years. Very trusting. Very knowledgeable in what they do. My car keys were also stolen. the dealership was going to cost me 1200$ to re-key my car. They referred me to a man. He did my ignition key, door key, and reprogramed my laser cut computer chip key for 200$.

    A couple of months ago, Harbison came to my new house and rekeyed all the locks (about 10 or 15) and worked on several doors that weren't shutting/locking correctly. John was thorough, professional and courteous. I was very happy with the job.
    This past week, the lock on the front door stopped working. None of our keys would turn the deadbolt. Also, one of the troublesome doors that John had worked on during the first visit had started acting up. The deadbolt on that one became very hard to turn.
    I have no idea why the front door lock stopped working. On the other door, I'm guessing that summer's heat and humidity affected the way the lock was working since it was fine in cooler weather. I don't think either of these issues were a result of any fault by Harbison since we'd made it a couple of months just fine before we had problems.
    I called and scheduled a return visit. I think it was Doug who came for the second visit. (I was at work and my son was home to let him in.) I returned home to find a front door lock that was working perfectly, and the lock on the troublesome door is now working better than ever.
    Harbison could have made a reasonable case for charging me for the second visit. They said it was a courtesy return visit and charged nothing.

    And that's how you win a customer for life.
    With the decline in caring about customer service these days, it makes a strong statement when a company goes the extra mile to satisfy its customers. On both visits, I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. Harbison provides expert, courteous service and stands behind their work. Hire them with confidence.

    Phoned A AABB's Lock and Key and spoke with Bobby (from Irondale), who also came out and performed the services. Bobby is friendly and very professional. He went above and beyond the call of duty. There were 2 doors that wouldn't key properly, but Bobby took the additonal time to ensure the locks fit properly and didn't charge for the extra time. His attention to detail and willingness to correct the fit of the locks on the two difficult doors was greatly appreciated!!!

    Everything went great! They got to me the very same day that I called. The gentleman who came was very professional and it only took about 45 minutes to get all my locks rekeyed. I recommended this company to my sister when she needed her locks rekeyed. I would positively use them again.

    We just moved to a new home in Homewood and we had a locked garage to which we didn't have a key. So we called Harbison Lock and Key, Inc based on the reviews on Angie's list. They came out the next day. Harbison performed the service, unlocked the garage and provided us with a set of keys. No complaints there. When I got home, I realized they charged over $100 for the service. When I scanned the detailed bill I saw that they charged $35 for the work and $5 for the material. That seemed very fair. Then I noticed $65 for a and quot;trip feeand quot;. I thought that was a little excessive since we live in Homewood, which is the same town the company is based in and because I've had other services performed on the house that took longer and required the company drive a longer distance that didn't charge a fee at all as opposed to $65. I called the office and spoke to two different people about this and quot;trip feeand quot; and they responded it was a charge they've had for the last several years and that other locksmiths charge more than that. This 'reasoning' that 'everybody else does it so we do, too' didn't validate a $65 charge for a 2 mile trip from their office to my home.

    Again, I'm not complaining about the work done and that's reflected in the ratings, I just think the and quot;trip feeand quot; is a little excessive. With all that said, knowing that there is a trip fee, I will take that into account when deciding to do business with this company again.

    Called because I was locked out after my key broke off in the deadbolt lock. They were able to come by 9am (I initially called at about 6:50 am). They called me back after my initial phone call to say they wouldn't be able to arrive before 8, and that they would call back at 8 to see if I still needed someone. I did, and the locksmith called when he was on his way. He was very professional, very thorough, and I thought very reasonably priced.

    After a week went by and not hearing from Hoover Lock and Key I called to see if they had the parts. They set an appointment for the following week to make repairs. No one showed up at the set time so I called them. They did not apologize but had an excuse and rescheduled for the following week. Again no one shows up so I call again. Another time was set and again a no show. After three times of waiting and not even getting a phone call I drove to their store and picked up the repair parts. I will contact the manufacturer so they can get another company to make the repairs. I will pay someone out of my own pocket before I allow Hoover Lock and Key to do it.

    I realize things come up in any business but all you need to do is make a call if you can't make it. With three blown appointments I can only think this company doesn't care about other people or their time.

    I called Alabama Lock & Key at 10:45 pm. I never heard from them at at 11:45 I called back. After not hearing anything by 12:30 AM I went to bed. A representative called me at 1:30 am but I didn't get the call. I called the next morning to have someone come out. I waited an hour and called back. The call center said they never got the report. When I told them again what the problem was they told me it would cost $85 to simply unlock a bedroom push lock.
